“LEt the bees be”

Logos This is the logo that I came up with fot the Pacific Northwest Beeeeping Conference of 2019. I decided not to have the date in the logo for the reason that that can date it. The logo shows a bee cut out of the letter “B”. The slogan of “let the bees be”work really well with a bee in a “B”. There is a splater of gold dots that adds depth and the idea of pollen from bees. I the main logo I have the “B” larger than the title as for the idea that the logo was to be the center point, the thing that draws the audience in. In the secoundary logo I made the “B” amd the title the same size for use in smaller setting. This should make it so the text is more readable the smaller the siz of the logo needs to be.

Color The colors that were chosen were based off a color pallet that I had found that included what I thought was a nice golden yellow. I wanted to limit the design to only three colors and this was with I came up with. I think it works really well for bees and well as the Pacific Nothwest.

typography The type that I chose to go with are both Rift a san serif that is an all caps type with a big type family and Cochin a serif typeface. Rift is a typeface that works really well with the PNW theme. To complement it I went with this typeface here called Cochin. It is an easier to read font that I think works really well with the san serif of Rift.

Assets The assets that I have include the pollen that was used on the bee logo, the circles that are not supposed to be centered but just there and natural looking, and the hexagons are there to add just another demention to the project and make it look complete. I also added a little illustration of a bottle for the mead but the only place that this is seem is next to the bullets in the zine for the fact about mead.

This is a few different brushes that I mixed together to mimic the idea of pollen next to the bee logo.

Honeycombs is a very cliche pattern when it comes to bee design but I really felt like it made a goos pattern in the zine to give it a cohesive feel.

The circles were first created out of the bump of the “B in the logo. I wanted it to look more natural and organic so they are not going to line up exactly. they can be any of the three colors in the color palette.
