Product-Range-Distribution Rational What do you want to do and why? An overarching statement of the direction of your own design practice, areas of interest and what this will allow you to explore and why? What I want to do is something that will relevant to me, my future and how I progress as a designer. I feel that the direction I am going at the moment is type, layout/editorial and branding lead. This is going to be my focus within my design practice, although I feel that design with a strong idea or concept behind it can cause a big impact on people and it is something I would like to explore. I want to visually engage people, make something look good but interact with them on another level, have meaning, purpose? Other areas that I take a keen interest in are interactive and informational design, this could be something that I can look into more in depth as my design practice develops and progresses. I also want to explore both traditional and digital methods of print as well as web, which is an on growing area that has limitless possibilities.
Statement of Intent What do you intend to do in order for you to fulfill your rationale, creative intentions and individual ambitions? I want to create a brand identity for an up and coming skate team in Leeds (Frodo). Expanding to create t-shirts, packaging, promotional material and media such as a website to sell the products. Initially the range will start with just a select number of tshirts, (fully packaged for distribution with tags and labels) which could include skate decks and other merchandise. Promotional material such as a magazine supplement including a mix dvd/cd with packaging for the team. Digital aspects such a website would be useful in promoting and distributing the Frodo branded products and keeping people current and up to date. PRODUCT? Brand identity (T-shirts)- Main product RANGE? -A range of 3-5 T-shirt designs -Printed promotional material -Website- (Invoice slips potentially) -Promotional Publication (Maybe including a DVD) DISTRIBUTION? -Packaging for the t-shirts (Bags?) -Tags -Labels
What will you produce and what will you propose? - I plan to produce at least 1 printed t-shirt fully packaged, tagged and labeled for distribution. - Printed publication about Frodo. - Propose designs for another 2-4 t-shirts. - Proposed website for Frodo.
