Rising sea levels resulting from climate change affect the livelihood of coastal communities everywhere, more so when working with the underrepresented. In designing for future high tides, we foresee burdens to residential health and wellness, as well as a city laden with maJor repairs and maintenance to infrastructure in obsolescence, costly improvements to storm water drainage, and perimeter barriers for waterfront protection. Facing the crossroads of an ethical dilemmato remain a steadfast stronghold within one's community or to go elsewhere.

The project tried to explore the neighborhood of Canarsie in Brooklyn. Canarsie as a neighborhood is highly affected by floods and stormwater. The neighborhood of New York saw a disastrous situation during the super-storm Sandy. In the next 100 years, most pars of Canar sie would be underwater. The project seemed to be stuck on the crossroad - 'to stay' or to go'. However, the strategy adopted suggests that a managed retr eat could be a tactical solution to the issues. The project proposed a resilient alternative: to stay within the community, but relocate on dry ground.

The first thought on visiting the site was to consider the possibility of voiding the streetlevel spaces to allow 'Nature' in. Another recurring aspect of the project is the subversion of the growing imbalance between the public and private domain and the desire to activate the ground for shared community space and increasedurbanporosity.
