Pareen’s Corner by Sanctuary salon & Med Spa, Orlando,Florida
My dear clients and friends, never in our wildest imagination could we ever thought we would be faced with the situation we have ahead of us. But what I can tell you is that we are strong and we will come back stronger, definitely wiser and ready for a bright future that is destined ahead of us. In the meantime…. Don’t forget us because we definitely won’t forget you! Wait for us! We’ll be Back! And please step away from the box color aisle! Remember color correction is way more expensive than root touch ups! My wonderful team are home doing on-line education and tutorials in preparation of your return! So when I started to think about what I wanted to write about in this month’s Pareen’s corner, I thought it would be a good time to share some helpful home care solutions that you can do in the convenience of your own home with items you already have in your pantry ! After all just because you can't visit your favorite salon and med spa (Sanctuary.....of course), it doesn't mean you want to neglect your skin or hair! We all still want to look and feel our best!
For your hair, now is the perfect time to cleanse, detox and nourish. Doing this once a week will help keep your hair looking healthy and shiny.
Cleanse: Start with a deep cleansing using a clarifying shampoo. If you do not have one you can use your regular shampoo – just shampoo twice and during the second time around massage for 3 minutes and rinse. Detox: Apply apple cider vinegar to rebalance the PH of your hair. Combine 1 cup vinegar and one cup warm water apply on scalp and make one inch parts. Then apply apple cider vinegar to the scalp and drench the hair (with the apple cider vinegar) and wait 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. This will rehydrate your hair, close the cuticles and remove any product build up. Nourish: Finally after rinsing your hair thoroughly follow with a good conditioner to nourish your now clean and shiny hair!
After sitting in the house for a few days, we’ve all probably noticed our skin has become dull and dry. Here are some ways to help your skin to look fresh, youthful and rejuvenated - again using items most of us already have in our pantry! Give yourself a face and body scrub. Combine ½ cup of raw sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of honey. Combine all ingredients in bowl. Gently apply to skin in a circular motion to exfoliate. Be careful when applying to the skin around your eyes. This will help reduce the appearance of scars and leaves your skin smooth and helps brighten your skin. You can also make your own face masks. For a gentle face exfoliating mask combine 1 tablespoon of mashed papaya, 1 teaspoon of oatmeal powder and 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt mix well. Apply on the face and neck massaging gently leaving on for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse off and follow with good moisturizer. This will remove dead skin and make your skin bright. If you have dry skin you might want to try this nourishing mask. Mash half avocado in a bowl, add 1 tea spoon of honey and little yogurt mixing it well and apply on your exfoliated face neck and body. Remove after 15 mins with tepid wanted. Your skin will be silky and soft. You can also use on your dry cuticles as well. Please keep watching for more helpful hints during our "stay home" time and if you have any topics or questions regarding skin, hair care or laser please be sure to send them to me at info@sanctuarysalonmedspa.com, it would my great pleasure to answer any questions you may have. Thank you so much for being such great clients and friends! We feel so very fortunate to have you as part of the Sanctuary Family.
