The Deepotsav this year is special as it comes after the Supreme Court verdict in the Ram Temple case which paved way for the creation of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The celebrations come at a time when the world has been battling COVID-19. Thus, the event, which normally takes place over
five-seven days, has been curtailed to three days this year. While only invitees are allowed to enter the venue where the event is taking place, the celebrations will be telecast live for the virtual audience. Several security measures have also been put in place to ensure the safety of people visiting the venue.

Ayodhya: Ayodhya will be witnessing its first Deepotsav since the Ram Temple verdict, on Friday. A massive celebration is expected to take place in the temple-town as artists from Lalit Kala Academy have been called to showcase 25 sculptures of Lord Ram, depicting various episodes of Ramayana. The town was decorated with diyas, paintings and rangolis as the celebrations kickstarted on November 11. 5.51 lakh earthen lamps would be lit at Ram ki Paidi ghats and 300 such venues during the celebrations.In a bid to promote women empowerment in the state, the Yogi Adityanath government has decided to showcase the Mission Shakti programme at the celebrations. An all-women Satya Sai Ramlila troupe from Balod district of Chhattisgarh will perform Ramlila on the day. Interestingly, besides the fact that the characters in the play have been depicted by women, the script, songs and direction of the Ramlila has also been managed by the members of the group. “The fourth Deepotsav will promote Mission Shakti through its cultural programmes. The theme of the celebrations will be women empowerment. Hundreds of women will showcase their talent in all the events,” Additional Chief Secretary Avanish Awasthi said.

Rampal, who was initially summoned by the central agency on Wednesday, arrived at the NCB's zonal office in Ballard Estate, South Mumbai, around 11.00 am. The 47-year-old model-turned-actor will be questioned in connection with the case related to alleged drug use in the Hindi film industry, the official said. Bela Mandal in Adilabad district recorded 10.3 degree Celsius on Friday morning, while the minimum temperatures hovered around the same levels across many parts of Adilabad, Nirmal, Kamareddy, Asifabad, Nizamabad, Sangareddy districts. The minimum temperature in Hyderabad has been around 15 degree Celsius. Taking to Twitter, Rao said that the project will be “the largest Foreign Direct Investment in the history of Telangana.” “After a series of meetings, AWS has finalized investment of Rs 20,761 Cr ($ 2.77 Bn) to set up multiple data centers in Telangana. The @AWSCloud Hyd Region is expected to be launched by mid 2022,” he posted on the micro-blogging site. The AWS will set up an AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region with three Availability Zones (AZs) here, an official statement from the IT department said. The press note added that the AZs will consist of multiple data centers in separate distinct locations within a single region that are engineered to be operationally independent of one another with independent power, cooling, physical security, and connections via a lowlatency network. Earlier this year during his Davos visit, the minister had met the top brass of AWS and had invited them for investment in the state.

Four workers were rescued after a massive fire broke out at a chemical factory situated in Bapuji Nagar in Bengaluru on Tuesday.Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sanjeev M Patil informed that no casualties have been reported so far. “As many as four workers were there in the factory when the fire broke out this morning. Democrat Indian-origin millionaire Shri Thanedar elected to Michigan state legislature
HiIndia Newsdesk Indian-origin millionaire businessman Shri Thanedar has been elected to the House of Representatives in Michigan. The 65-year-old, who is also a scientist, won from the 3rd District of Michigan with 93 per cent of the total votes. Thanedar, who ran for Governor two years ago, raised a record-breaking USD 438,620, largely from his own wealth, in the state House primary against six other opponents of the Democratic Party. British firms invested GBP 140 mn in India in 2020 despite pandemic: Report
HiIndia Newsdesk The latest Confederation of Business Industry (CBI) and Ernst & Young Sterling Access' report, which examines trade between the UK and India, found that despite trade disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, British firms from April to June this year continued to invest around GBP 140 million in India.
The reforms introduced by the Indian government such as revising the labour laws, planned single window clearance for licence applications and other incentives have helped British firms stay bullish on investing in the country amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new report released this week. Overall, trade between the UK and India hit GBP 24 billion till March 2020, up by nearly 12 per cent in just one year. India invested in 120 projects and created 5,429 new jobs, making India the secondlargest foreign investor in the UK, just after the US. “The Indian government has hugely stepped up its efforts to improve the business environment this year, from accelerating the use of digital and online services in the supply chain to implementing major labour reforms,” said Lord Karan Bilimoria, the Indian-origin president of the CBI, which speaks on behalf of 190,000 British businesses. The CBI report, jointly issued with professional services organisation Ernst & Young, welcomes India’s ambitious reforms agenda, which it notes is part of a national challenge to jump up the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business Index’ and recommends actions which would speed up the reduction of trade barriers.

Abu Dhabi: The stone facade of the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi will be adorned with scenes depicted from Hindu epics, scriptures and ancient stories from India, as well as popular motifs from the Gulf countries, a media report said on Tuesday. In the latest update on the construction of the BAPS Hindu Mandir, the visuals of the final design of the temple were released in a video posted on its website, reports Gulf News. Dubbed a spiritual oasis for global harmony, the temple’s final master plan revealed in the video shows a massive amphitheatre overlooking the shrine. A library, classroom, majlis and a community centre have also been featured within the compound in Abu Mureikhah area. The design of the master plan was completed in early 2020, and optimised engineered during the slowdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ashok Kotecha, the spokesperson of the temple. “This is the first time the visuals of the final design have been released through the video,” Kotecha said.

At least 74 migrants have drowned after a boat shipwrecked off the coast of Libya in the Mediterranean Sea, the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Thursday. The IOM said reports indicated that the migrant vessel was carrying more than 120 people, including women and children. The coastguard and fishermen have brought 47 survivors to shore and 31 bodies have been retrieved. This shipwreck is the latest in a series of recent tragedies involving migrants in the Mediterranean, the IOM said. Do you actively take to an exercise routine, or does dancing enable you to achieve your fitness goals?
I actively practice yoga and meditation, and that's how I begin the day. Being physically active, via cycling, walking, running, or conditional exercises is something that makes me happy, [and helps me] physically, and mentally.
How can dancers train themselves to be flexible? Stretches must be practiced with patience and consistency. Dancers often feel that flexibility is crucial to pull off certain movements on stage. But the importance [given to flexibility] is overrated. Choreography looks fantastic when you are flexible, but other factors, like developing strength and endurance, are crucial in equal measure.
As an insider in Bollywood, can you shed light on whether an overweight dancer/aspiring choreographer finds enough opportunities in Bollywood? I don't think dancers are judged on the basis of their body. Yes, certain shows have certain requirements. The perception is that if you have long and slim limbs, your movements look beautiful. But, people across the world with different body types have busted these myths. Misty Copland [American ballerina] is an example of that, and showed that despite

It seems simple, but to hold a position and work on the smaller muscles, is difficult. I can manage weight-lifting in the gym, but pilates kills me. Yoga does so too, because you must constantly be stable, and focus on your breath. I would also like to address mental fitness here. We need to [attend to it] on a daily basis. We are not trained to address it, but are gradually learning about it. Yoga aids in attending to that as well.

A remake of 2015 Spanish film El Desconocido, the story follows a businessman who discovers that a bomb has been planted in the car he’s driving by an unknown assailant, who tells the driver to execute a series of commands throughout the day or the bomb will be detonated. The festival of lights – Diwali – is incomplete without its share of sweets that celebrate the festive spirit. However, one important part of the festivities is the savouries that not only add the much-needed spice to the festivities but also make for a heartwarming palate. One such favourite savoury snack that people like to indulge in all through the year and especially during Diwali is chakli.
Ingredients
1 cup – Soya flour * 1/2 cup – Split black gram flour (urad dal ka atta) * 1/8 cup – Butter * 1tsp – Red chilli powder 1/2 cup – Roasted cumin powder * Salt to taste
Method
*Preheat the oven to 180°C. *Take soya flour, black gram flour, butter, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and salt in a bowl. Mix well. *Add sufficient water and knead to a soft dough. *Put sufficient dough into a chakli press fitted with a chakli attachment. *Brush oil on a baking tray and press out chaklis onto it. Bake for 12-15 minutes in a preheated oven. *Remove and set aside to cool down. Serve.

eople who experience high blood pressure while sleeping are more likely to experience future cardiovascular disease especially heart failure, even when their daytime blood pressure is within normal ranges, according to new research. The research was published today in the American Heart Association’s flagship journal Circulation. Health care professionals typically use in-office and daytime blood pressure measurements to determine a patient’s hypertension medication needs and dosages. However, many patients may have undetected nocturnal hypertension — high blood pressure while sleeping. “Nighttime blood pressure is increasingly being recognized as a predictor of cardiovascular risk,” said Kazuomi Kario, M.D., Ph.D., lead author of the study and a professor of cardiovascular medicine at Jichi Medical University in Tochigi, Japan. “This study provides much more in-depth information about the cardiovascular risk associated with high nighttime blood pressure and different nighttime blood pressure phenotypes than have been reported previously.” The Japan Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Prospective (JAMP) study enrolled 6,359 patients from across Japan between 2009 and 2017 and measured daytime and nighttime levels using an athome, wearable, ambulatory monitor. Blood pressure was measured during daily activities and sleep for at least 24-hours at a time, and device data were periodically downloaded at a health care clinic. Almost half of the study participants were male, and more than half were over the age of 65 years. The patients all had at least one cardiovascular risk factor,

Asus, last month, made a foray into the commercial PC market in India by launching a host of new laptops, personal computers and all-in-ones in India. In the commercial laptop segment, the company introduced the ExpertBook P2 and the ExpertBook P1 series along with the ExpertBook B9450, which, as you know, is the star of today’s review. It is also the premium and the costliest commercial laptop that Asus launched in India this year costing over a whopping ₹1,02,228. Now, it might seem like a hefty price to pay for a laptop, especially since there is no dearth of low budget yet relatively sturdy laptops in the market right now. But, in reality, the ExpertBook B9450 laptop deserves all that and even more. It’s light, it’s easy on the eyes, it’s a strong performer and it’s extremely secure, all of which make it a great pick for all those who are looking for a device that will cater to all their needs. The Asus ExpertBook B9 laptop measures 32.00 x 20.30 x 0.90 cm and it weighs just 995 grams. But if you are still relying on a Slingbox of your very own, you’re officially on notice: Dish subsidiary Sling Media is discontinuing all Slingbox products and will permanently shut down the Slingbox servers on or around November 9th, 2022 — “at which point ALL Slingbox devices and services will become inoperable,” says Sling.The company’s also nixing a variety of its SlingPlayer apps, including its app for Windows Phone, which... it’s been a while since the Slingbox was fully relevant, OK? But it sounds like there’ll still be a version available for iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, and even the web for a little while yet. The sensor measures glucose every minute in interstitial fluid through a
small (5.5mm long) filament that is inserted just under the skin and held in place with a small adhesive pad. Kalyan Sattaru, GM, Abbott’s diabetes care business, India, said with the FreeStyle Libre reader diabetes patients can now check the impact of their diet, the direction of glucose levels and glycemic index in real-time by just scanning the gadget over the sensor and without pricking your fingers.
Sweden halts 5G auction after Amazon’s Fire tablet sale court grants relief to Huawei takes up to $70 off select models
Sweden last month followed the United Kingdom in banning Huawei equipment from its 5G network citing national security risks and asked companies taking part in 5G spectrum auctions to remove components from the company by January 1, 2025. Swedish telecoms regulator PTS on Monday halted 5G spectrum auctions after a court suspended parts of its decision that had excluded Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei from 5G networks. Sweden last month followed the United Kingdom in banning Huawei equipment from its 5G network citing national security risks and asked companies taking part in 5G spectrum auctions to remove components from the company by January 1, 2025. Huawei last week appealed against the decision. Certain parts of PTS' decision prior to the upcoming 5G auctions will not apply until further notice, the Stockholm administrative court said in a decision which would allow Huawei's involvement in Sweden's impending 5G spectrum auction.Huawei has no plan for more legal action at this point and is waiting to have constructive dialogue with Swedish authorities, Kenneth Fredriksen, Huawei's executive vice president, Central East Europe and Nordic Region, told Reuters. "We are willing to cooperate fully in terms of any future requirements they may put as a supplier of 5G equipment that will enable us to be a certified vendor," he said. The auctions were expected to start from Tuesday, and would have benefited Nokia and Ericsson as PTS had asked companies taking part in them to remove Huawei and ZTE equipment from their infrastructure. PTS said it had informed the operators about the auction halt and would review the possibilities of starting the process as soon as possible. Asian American Organizations Applaud Defeat of Proposition 16 Banning Affirmative Action BY A STAFF WRITER SAN FRANCSICO, CA- The Asian American Coalition for Education in New Jersey and the Asian Americans Advancing Justice in California have both praised the defeat of Proposition 16 in the West Coast state in the Nov. 3 election. Prop 16 called for allowing diversity to be a factor in public employment, education and contracting decisions. If passed, it would have permitted government decision-making policies to consider race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin in order to address diversity by repealing constitutional provision prohibiting such policies. “AACE applauds Californian voters’ forceful rejection of racially discriminatory Proposition 16, and calls it a great and historic milestone in Asian Americans’ fight for equal education rights in America,” the coalition said in a news release. Proposition 16 is a politically motivated attempt to restore racial discrimination and racial quotas in public education, public employment and government contracting by repealing California’s constitutional principal of equal treatment for all, AACE added. Fast-tracked throughout the California Legislature in May and June of 2020, proponents of Proposition 16 obtained over $22 million in funding from various special interest groups and rallied support from an overwhelming number of liberal politicians, it said.

LOUIS, MO- –U.S. Customs and Border Protections officers at the port of St. Louis recently seized 7,800 Puff Bar Vape Pens containing Nicotine & Glycerol. The shipment, originating from Hong Kong, was destined for a residence in Florissant. Vaping Pens The FDA examined the vaping pens and determined the shipment violated the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) as misbranded consumer goods being imported by an unauthorized agent. In January, the FDA announced an increased enforcement priority of electronic nicotine delivery systems, and in April issued detailed guidance to the industry of these new enforcement priorities that regulate the unauthorized importation of tobacco products.
The pens were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation. Tobacco products imported or offered for import into the United States

The shipment was mislabeled as Air Humidifier, a common practice used by smugglers. intercepting illicit products that could harm American consumers, and we will continue to work with our consumer safety partners to identify and seize unsafe and illicit goods.” CBP provides basic import information about admissibility requirements and the clearance process for e-commerce goods and encourages buyers to confirm that their purchases and the importation of those purchases comply with any state and federal import regulations. CBP conducts operations at ports of entry throughout the United States, and regularly screens arriving international passengers and cargo for narcotics, weapons, and other restricted or prohibited products. Sikhs of Tracy, Mountain House in California Adopt Highway to Raise Awareness of Sikh Americans BY A STAFF WRITER TRACY, CA- The state of California has recognized November as Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month, and local organizations are commemorating it. Blue Mountain Eagle reports that Sikhs of Tracy, a local community chapter, announced on Oct. 16 via Facebook that both Sikhs of Tracy and Sikhs of Mountain House would be participating in CalTran’s Adopt-a-Highway program. Then, on Oct. 20, Sikhs of Manteca also got approved for the program, according to the report. With the collaboration of Sikh Gurughars, Central Valley organization Jakara Movement and local volunteers, the San Joaquin County Sikh community adopted multiple two-mile segments of highway along Interstate 205 passing through Mountain House and Tracy, Interstate 5 passing through Stockton and State Route 120 passing through Manteca — roughly eight miles total, the report added. Along with the words “Sikhs of ” and the name of the corresponding city, the 34-by-36-inch Adopt-a-Highway signs don a prominent Sikh turban with red and blue colors and white stars to symbolize Sikh Americans and encourage those who view the signs to do their own research on the community and the state legislations associated with Sikhs and Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation month. The message put out is a simple one: bring awareness about Sikh American culture and Sikhism, the report added. “Sikh religion is a target of mistaken identity and hate crimes in the U.S.,” read a written statement by Sikhs of Tracy. The statement referenced the Aug. 2019 homicide of Tracy resident Paramjit Singh,

ICRISAT is an international organization focused on reducing hunger, poverty and environmental degradation in the dryland tropics. The institute, which conducts development-related scientific research, is one of 14 research centers that comprise CGIAR. Formerly known as the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research, CGIAR is a global research partnership for a food-secure future dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing food and nutrition security, and improving natural resources, according to Cornell. “It’s an honor to be named chair of the ICRISAT board,” Pingali said in a university report. “I have been a longtime admirer of ICRISAT’s research addressing the food security of poor farmers in the tropical drylands of Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Its work is ever more important and urgent in the face of rapid climate change and resource degradation in these poorest regions of the world.” Pingali has served on ICRISAT’s governing board since April 2019. The Indian American educator is a professor in the Charles H.
