How did Tandav happen?
I got a call from the casting team for an audition. While they did not give me any details, the scene I read was very interesting. That made me really intrigued, and I wanted to know more about the world. Till that time, I didn’t even know who was making it. The round went really well, and after we had a few more tests, I was given the bound script. Incidentally, I was traveling then and the script was so complex, with so many tracks running together, that I couldn’t read it at one go. I actually relished it and read an episode a day. By the time I finished it, I was blown away. I really wanted to do the show as I haven’t seen anything like this made in India.

Mike Pence vows to honor US history, ensure safe inauguration of new president Mike Pence's carefully staged appearances on Thursday marked a contrast to those of Donald Trump, who has not visited the Capitol since the attack.
HiIndia Newsdesk Donald J. Trump laid siege to the US Capitol. Pence made the remarks before a security briefing at the headquarters of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and during a meeting with National Guard troops guarding the US Capitol, where Pence was among top US officials forced into hiding during last week’s attack. “We all lived through that day – January 6. No foreign chief guest at Republic Day parade
HiIndia Newsdesk The external affairs ministry on Thursday said that this year’s Republic Day parade would not have any foreign head of State or government as chief guest owing to the pandemic. The announcement came nine days after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was to be the chief guest at the parade, cancelled his visit to India because of the countrywide lockdown in the UK. This is the first time since 1966 that there will be no foreign dignitary as chief guest at the parade.
Petrol and Diesel Prices Hiked for Second Straight Day
HiIndia Newsdesk New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices on Thursday were hiked by 25 paise per litre each, the second straight day of increase in rates that took the prices to new highs. Petrol now costs Rs 84.70 per litre in Delhi and diesel is priced at Rs 74.88, according to a price notification from oil marketing companies. This is the second straight day of a price increase. Rates were hiked by 25 paise each on Wednesday after a five-day hiatus. In Mumbai, the price of petrol was increased to Rs 91.32 a litre from Rs 91.07 previously, while diesel rates went up from Rs 81.34 to Rs 81.60 per litre. Petrol price is at a record high in Delhi and is just a shy away from the highest ever rate of Rs 91.34 in Mumbai. Diesel price in Mumbai is at an all-time high. State-owned fuel retailers – Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) – had on January 6, resumed daily price revision after nearly a month-long hiatus. Rates were hiked on two consecutive days – totalling 49 paise for petrol and 51 paise for diesel – before they hit the pause button again. The price increase cycle resumed on Wednesday, after international oil prices rose to their highest level since February 2020, before the coronavirus outbreak in China began spreading across the world, forcing lockdowns that shaved off demand.

Farm laws will be Ex-judge to PM: Accept mistake and repeal farm laws junked: Rahul Gandhi HiIndia Newsdesk
The former Supreme Court judge, Justice Markandey Katju, on Thursday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately repeal the three new farm laws through an ordinance and urged him to accept his “mistake” of hurrying the three laws through. “All human beings make mistakes. By doing this, far from losing face, you will be applauded. If you do it your popularity, far from going down, will soar,” Justice Katju wrote in a letter to Modi. He also suggested that a statutory farmers’ commission be set up to deal with farmers’ problems.
HiIndia Newsdesk
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday predicted that the Narendra Modi government would be compelled to repeal the new farm laws, stressing that suppressing farmers to help a few corporate houses would not be tolerated in the country. Speaking to the media in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai, Rahul said: “I am very proud of what the farmers are doing. I fully support the farmers and will continue to stand with them. I raised their issues at a yatra in Punjab and will continue to do it. Mark my words, take it from me, these laws… the government will be forced to take them back. Remember what I said.” Rahul also broached the Chinese intrusions, which have almost been erased from the political discourse.
Brazil to be first country to get Covid vaccine from India, SII will supply 2 million doses
Over 8,000 health workers to be vaccinated each day in Delhi from 16 Jan, says CM Kejriwal
Covishield will reach Brazil next week. Modi govt had earlier this month authorised a deal between Brazilian govt & Serum Institute to supply the vaccine at a ‘special rate’. HiIndia Newsdesk New Delhi: Brazil is all set to become the first country in the world that will receive two million doses of Covishield from India next week that will be flown directly from Mumbai to Rio de Janeiro via a special flight, ThePrint has learnt. The Jair Bolsonaro administration will be procuring the vaccine at a “special rate” under a deal that was finalised between the Brazilian government and Pune’s Serum Institute of India (SII) earlier this month, diplomatic sources told ThePrint. SII has manufactured the Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine in India. The deal, sources said, was in the offing for the last few months, but it was finalised only after the arrangement was authorised by the Narendra Modi government earlier this month. Sources said, the vaccine shipment will leave India only after the Modi government launches the vaccination drive Saturday as India does not want to be seen to be giving priority to other countries over its own people. Brazil’s Health Minister Eduardo Pazuello said that the SII will supply the two million doses of the coronavirus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford. Brazil also plans to produce 100 million vaccines locally, for which it is also in talks with Bharat Biotech as well as SII.
HiIndia Newsdesk New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said the Delhi government has completed all preparations for rollout of the Coronavirus vaccine from January 16, with over 8000 health workers to be vaccinated on every scheduled day in the city. The Delhi government has received 2.74 lakh doses of the vaccine so far from the Centre which would be sufficient for 1.2 lakh health workers. There are a total of 2.4 lakh health workers in Delhi and more vaccine doses are expected to arrive soon, he said. Vaccination will begin at 81 centres on Saturday and the number of centres will be increased after a few days to 175 and finally 1000, he said. The vaccine will be administered on four days of the week-Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It will not be given in Sunday and two days of the week.

New Delhi: Three Central Ministers and farmers unions on Friday committed to continue holding direct talks to resolve the over-one-month-long deadlock over three agri laws, with Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar urging farmer leaders to be flexible in their approach as has been done by the government. 100 UK MPs write to Johnson over stir
The Trump government hardened the immigration rules on those allowed to seek asylum in the US and advocated a merit-based immigration system to protect US workers
HiIndia Newsdesk Washington,: US President-elect Joe Biden has said he will introduce immigration legislation “immediately” after taking office, reversing the Trump administration’s policies. Biden will take the oath of office on January 20. “I will introduce an immigration bill immediately and have it sent to the appropriate committees to begin the movement,”
he told reporters in Wilmington, Delaware on Friday. Biden was responding to a question on what his administration would do first after his inauguration on January 20. He had also previously promised an immigration overhaul within 100 days of taking office. Reversing the Trump administration’s “cruel” immigration policies was Biden’s one of the key election promises. Restricting immigration has been a focus of the Trump administration since its first days when it issued the travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries, and it has continued into Trump’s final year in office as the White House uses the coronavirus pandemic as cover. The Trump government hardened the immigration rules on those allowed to seek asylum in the US and advocated a merit-based immigration system to protect US workers. His administration also tried ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in 2017 but the Supreme Court blocked its attempt in June 2019. Biden said he would also countermand the Trump administration’s orders on environmental issues. “I will, in fact, countermand the executive orders that the President has, in fact, initiated that are contrary to, what I think, is either his authority and/or even if it is his authority, contrary to the interest of the United States on environmental issues and a whole range of other things,” he said.

The External Affairs Minister said India had responded to the situation through the larger framework of the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) to enhance its capacities at home to make a larger contribution abroad. "We, in India, have responded through the policy of Atmanirbhar Bharat, building stronger capacities at home to make a larger contribution abroad.

Niraj Gadher, owner of the Chai Walla eatery, said he wanted to spread some cheer around when he came up with the idea of sending a samosa into space, according to news website UPI. "I said as a joke once that I would send a samosa into space, and then I thought during this bleak times we could all use a reason to laugh," Mr Gadher told Somerset Live. The restaurant owner used helium balloons to launch the beloved snack into space. It took three tries to get it right. The first time, the helium balloons slipped from his hands. "The second time we didn't have enough helium, but we got there on the third time," he said.

Kamala Harris will appear on the cover of Vogue's February issue, but when the magazine tweeted photographs of the cover recently, they instantly sparked a controversy. Two images of the US vice president-elect were released by Vogue. One shows Kamala Harris, 56, wearing her trademark Converse sneakers, standing in front of a pink and green drape. The other shows her in a powder blue suit, her arms crossed in front of a gold background. The photographs - especially the first one - faced backlash from social media users who accused Vogue of "whitewashing" and falling short of its normally high standard for photographs. "What a mess up," wrote New York Times contributor Wajahat Ali. "Anna Wintour must really not have Black friends and colleagues. I'll shoot shots of VP Kamala Harris for free using my Samsung and I'm 100% confident it'll turn out better than this Vogue cover." "Kamala Harris is about as light skinned as women of color come and Vogue still f****d up her lighting. WTF is this washed out mess of a cover?" another Twitter user asked.
A fashion student from the UK has gone viral for trying to sell a rail company's social distancing signs as crop tops. Mhari Thurston-Tyler turned social distancing seat covers from Chiltern Railways into crop tops and tried to sell them on shopping app Depop for 15 pounds each, reports BBC. Depop said the item "clearly violates our terms of service" and warned Ms ThurstonTyler not to sell prohibited items on the app. The blue seat covers from Chiltern Railways - a British train operating company encourage passengers to maintain social distancing and read: "Keep this seat free to maintain social distancing when possible". Ms Thurston-Tyler's Depop listing, which has now been removed, advertised the seat covers as "social distancing railway crop top." "Got a few of these, can do sizes," she wrote. "Message me before buying or with questions / offers." The listing went viral on social media after being shared by Depop Drama's Twitter and Instagram accounts. While Depop confirmed that the crop top listing had been taken down and "the user has admitted it was taken from a Chiltern Railways train", Ms Thurston-Tyler denies stealing the seat covers. She told that she found the signs discarded

"The pic itself isn't terrible as a pic. It's just far, far below the standards of Vogue. They didn't put thought into it. Like homework finished the morning it's due," LGBTQ activist Charlotte Clymer tweeted. Both the photographs were taken by 26-year-old photographer Tyler Mitchell. A source familiar with the photo shoot told CBS News that the image of Kamala Harris in the blue suit was the one that both sides had agreed would appear on the cover. "Aides to Harris and Vogue had the understanding that the blue suit/gold background would be the cover photo. Without telling Harris' team, Vogue changed it to the pink/green photo which the Vice President-elect's team did not agree to," the source said. Another source said that pink drape image was supposed to have been used inside the magazine, and that Kamala Harris's team was "blindsided" when the cover was released. Vogue selected the image for the print cover that we felt captured her personality and authenticity," another source at Vogue said. "Obviously, we love both images and are celebrating both covers digitally."

Smriti Irani Shares A Poet's Beautiful Rendition Of "Mera Chota Sa Mohalla" Union Minister Smriti Irani's latest Instagram post might take you on a trip down memory lane. On Sunday, Ms Irani took to Instagram to share a video of a poet reciting "Mera Chota Sa Ek Mohalla" - a poem that looks back on some of the little joys of living in a small, close-knit neighbourhood. Sharing the video, Ms Irani wrote that she found the "beautiful rendition" online and it describes a life that many of us have been privileged to live. "Found this beautiful rendition online.. don't know who the lady is but what she describes is a life many of us have been privileged to live," she wrote. She also asked her followers to help her identify the poet. Instagram users obliged and soon identified the poet as Jaya Sarkar in what Ms Irani later described as the power of Instagram. "The power of Insta - in my comment section am told the lady
is a poet Jaya Sarkar," she wrote. In her poem, Ms Sarkar recalls living in a "chota sa mohalla" or a small neighbourhood, where children were often found playing on the road and teenagers gossiped under the guise of combined study, where the streets were narrow but homes were welcoming, where the rustling of the peepal tree heralded the arrival of spooky story sessions, and where everyone came together to celebrate every small joy. "There are some who consider big bank accounts, huge mansions & a row of jazzy cars to be the hallmark of privilege," wrote Smriti Irani while sharing the video. "For me, true gold is the relationships, the memories that enrich us and make us who we are..."

Wanted 11 fit Indians: Team sweats over injury to Jasprit Bumrah
HiIndia Newsdesk India’s Kidmabi Srikanth sailed into the men’s singles second round of the Thailand Open Super 1000 tournament but it was curtains for Parupalli Kashyap, who made an early exit on Wednesday. While Srikanth took just 31 minutes to prevail over compatriot Sourabh Verma 21-12 21-11, Kashyap was forced to retire midway in his opening-round match against Jason Anthony Ho-Shue of Canada earlier in the day. Kashyap, a Commonwealth Games champion, was trailing 8-14 in the third game when he chose to retire after puling his calf muscle.
Former Olympic swimming champion part of U.S. Capitol siege
HiIndia Newsdesk American Klete Keller, who won two Olympic gold medals as a relay teammate of Michael Phelps, was identified as being among the Donald Trump supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol last week, according to multiple reports. Swimming news website SwimSwam said in a report that at least a dozen people within the sport identified the towering man wearing a U.S. Olympic team jacket inside the building as Keller after reviewing video and screenshots of the riot. USA Swimming did not respond when asked whether they could confirm if Keller was part of the crowd that entered the legislative complex as lawmakers began certifying Democrat Joe Biden’s Nov. 3 election victory over Trump. Attempts to reach Keller were unsuccessful. A woman who answered the phone for the Colorado and Ohio-based real estate agency where Keller works told Reuters, “we are not commenting on anything right now” and then hung up. Five people, including a police officer, died as a result of the rampage.

An injury-ravaged Indian team has limited options in terms of picking replacements for the series-deciding final Test. Apart from Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja is ruled out due to a left-thumb dislocation, while Hanuma Vihari’s hamstring strain makes him uncertain, with the team management waiting for his medical update. Jadeja is the team’s only genuine allrounder and a like-for-like replacement is not available. Washington Sundar, who stayed back in Australia after the limitedovers series, could be drafted in.

Just because you are successful at 15, doesn’t mean you’ll be successful at 19: Rahul Dravid HiIndia Newsdesk
'To be successful in cricket, you need to grow not only as a cricketer, but also as a person'
“Experience is not playing more matches, experience is learning from matches you play. If you play 30 matches, but you don’t learn from them, it is playing the same match 30 times. In these experiences, there are opportunities to learn and memories to make. You may forget the scores, but not the memories of the laughs that you have with each other,” Rahul Dravid, one of the stalwarts of Indian cricket, says in this video. “People often ask me what will take them to the next level. There is more to success that just practice. There is more to cricket: as you rise higher in any game, you realise that success is more about the mental side of it. At a younger age, those who are passionate may succeed more, but the difference will narrow down as you grow. Talent will become a pyramid where those who handle pressure better and are slightly more well
rounded personalities will be those who will succeed.” During the course of his career, the cricketer was hailed as ‘Mr Dependable’. “Just because you are successful at 15, doesn’t mean you’ll be successful at 19. Just because you are successful at 19, doesn’t mean you’ll be successful at 23. As you grow, those who handle pressure better will be more successful. If you are unable to perform well, you need to understand the reason behind it. You need to work on your mind.” “Virat Kohli has skills like other people, but he is mentally tougher than the rest and knows his game better. Knowing your game starts at a very early age. This is a learning that nobody can teach you, only you can learn it.” Rahul Dravid is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of world cricket. Today is his 48th birthday.

Exercise Nutrition
Whether You Should Eat Before or After a Workout Depends on Your Fitness Goals First consider what you’re training for, as your goal could influence whether to eat before or not.
Ten Habits of People Who Lose Weight and Keep It Off
Weight-loss interventions that are founded on habit-change, (forming new habits or breaking old habits) may be effective at helping people lose weight and keep it off. Habit-based interventions have the potential to change how we think about weight management and, importantly, how we behave. * Keep to a meal routine: eat at roughly the same times each day. People who succeed at long term weight loss tend to have a regular meal rhythm (avoidance of snacking and nibbling). * Go for healthy fats: choose to eat healthy fats from nuts, avocado and oily fish instead of fast food. Trans-fats are linked to an increased risk of heart-disease * Walk off the weight: aim for 10,000 steps a day. Take the stairs and get off one tram stop earlier to ensure you’re getting your heart rate up every day. * Pack healthy snacks when you go out: swap potato chips and cookies for fresh fruit. * Always look at the labels: check the fat, sugar and salt content on food labels. * Caution with your portions: use smaller plates, and drink a glass of water and wait five minutes then check in with your hunger before going back for seconds. * Break up sitting time: decreasing sedentary time and increasing activity is linked to substantial health benefits. Time spent sedentary is related to excess weight and obesity, independent of physical activity level. * Think about your drinks: choose water and limit fruit juice to one small glass per day. * Focus on your food: slow down and eat while sitting at the table, not on the go. Internal cues regulating food intake (hunger/ fullness signals) may not be as effective while distracted

There’s plenty of evidence showing how important nutrition is for exercise, from aiding performance to enhancing recovery. But it’s often confusing to know whether it’s best to eat before or after you exercise.
Eating before
When we exercise, our bodies need energy. This energy is supplied by fuel, either stored in our bodies (as carbohydrate in our liver and muscles, or from fat stores), or from the food we eat. If the exercise is demanding or if we exercise for a long time, we use more stored carbohydrate (known as glycogen). Studies show that carbohydrates in our diet are important in topping up our glycogen stores between bouts of exercise and also when eaten before exercise sessions. So if your energy is somewhat low, or you’re doing a longer or more demanding session, consuming carbohydrate-rich foods – such as pasta, rice, cereals or fruit – around three to four hours before exercise can help provide the energy you need to keep moving. There’s also evidence that carbohydrate type can help improve metabolic responses to exercise. While this may not necessarily affect performance, eating lower glycemic index foods (foods that produce a slowerreleasing carbohydrate effect, such as porridge oats or wholegrain bread) can better sustain energy and provide benefits (such as lower use of glycogen stores) during exercise for some. But eating right before exercising could cause indigestion, cramps or nausea. Consuming an easily digestible, carbohydrate-rich meal (for example, porridge with blueberries) around three hours before a training session may help sustain energy and improve training quality without necessarily leading to gut issues. Pre-fuelling also helps sustain blood sugar levels during exercise,

which can positively affect performance.
Eating after
On the flip side, however, recent research has demonstrated that training in a fasted state – for example, first thing in the morning before breakfast – can actually lead to positive adaptations linked with efficient fuel use and fat burning. This doesn’t necessarily mean greater weight loss, but it could optimise fuel efficiency, which may be important for those training for a marathon, for example, to help delay fatigue. Fasted training could also have other health benefits such as improved blood sugar and hormone regulation. But if we think about the point of training, it’s all down to how we recover and adapt from it. This is where nutrition has a significant role to play. Early research has shown the benefits of eating carbohydrates after exercise to restore muscle glycogen. Not only does this affect our ability to train many times a week by helping muscles recover faster, it’s also shown to affect how well we perform. Studies have also demonstrated that eating soon after finishing exercise (as opposed to waiting for a few hours) can help maximise recovery, particularly if a carbohydrate intake of about 1.3 grams per kilogram of body weight per hour is consumed during the two-to-six hour short-term recovery phase. This could be useful to know if you are doing another session that day or within eight hours. If your exercise sessions are more spread out, then early refuelling of carbohydrate is less important, so long as you aim to meet suggested guidelines, which, for moderate activity, is around five to seven grams of carbohydrates per kilogram of body weight a day.
This Japanese 80% diet rule can help you live a longer life If you want to live to a healthy 100, eat like healthy people who’ve lived to 100. One place to look is Okinawa, Japan, one of the world’s Blue Zones — or exceptional hot spots where people live extraordinarily long, healthy and happy lives. For every 100,000 inhabitants, Okinawa has 68 centenarians — more than three times the numbers found in U.S. populations of the same size. Eating with mindfulness, intention and awareness is one significant characteristic that has been proven to aid in longevity rates among Okinawans.

Bhumi Pednekar loves polka dots The retro trend makes a comeback every year, and this year, it was Pednekar's turn to usher it
I
t is a new year and it is time to witness some new trends in fashion. It is also time for old trends to make a comeback, and one such is the polka dots. Truth be told, the retro trend makes a comeback every year. And this year, it is actor Bhumi Pednekar ushering it. Styled by Tanya Ghavri, the actor was seen in an ensemble from Rebecca Vallance which consisted of a polka dotted mauve top paired with wide-bottom pants. The look was pulled together with hair tied in a knot. Actors have forever flirted with this trend, opting for polka dot tops or skirts and even dresses. For instance, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja stunned in a polka dot peplum top by George Keburia. She evoked the old-world charm and her make-up — down to the bright red lip — really supported it.

Crispy fried spinach is one such option — spinach has many health benefits.

Chipotle Hiring Massive Amount Of Workers Across The Country HI INDIA NEWS DESK NEWPORT BEACH, CA — It’s time for “Coast To Coast Career Day” at Chipotle Mexican Grill. The company plans to hire 15,000 new workers for its restaurants across the United States, the Newport Beachbased company announced Monday. Although the pandemic has resulted in lost business for many companies, Chipotle officials said their model has allowed them to expand, ending 2020 with nearly 11,000 internal promotions and the possible addition of about 200 new restaurants coming soon. “We are fortunate to be experiencing growth during this unique time and want to safely provide an opportunity for purpose-driven individuals to join us on our mission of cultivating a better world,” said Marissa Andrada, Chipotle’s chief diversity, inclusion, and people officer. That could be welcome news to some of those out of work due to the pandemic.
CCT Maria Pappas. Biggest Property Tax Increases Over 20 Years HI INDIA NEWS DESK CHICAGO,IL- Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas today released a study which reveals the properties in Chicago and the suburbs with the largest property tax increases since 2000, dramatic examples of how the tax burden has soared on homeowners and business people. Called “The Top 50,” the report lists the 50 Property Index Numbers (PINs) with the largest tax increases from 2000 to 2019 in Chicago and the suburbs, both residential and commercial. The report is a new chapter in “The Pappas Study,” an unprecedented study that shows the county’s tax bills virtually doubling
over 20 years, an increase that is nearly triple the 36 percent rise in the cost of living index. “If you don’t exercise your right to vote, then you have no right to complain about how property taxes have climbed since 2000,” Pappas said, noting the low percentage of the voting-age population that participates in elections. “The Pappas Study” is dedicated to former Chicago Tribune editorial page editor John McCormick and former editor R. Bruce Dold for their tireless efforts to make Chicagoland a better place to live. According to the Top 50, the residential properties with the largest property tax increases from 2000 to 2019 are: • In Chicago,
a condominium on East Lake Shore the tax bill rose 53 percent, from Drive, where the tax bill jumped $12,847,013.47 to $19,633,920.16 1,890 percent, from $6,731.71 to “There is a solution to the problem $133,954.83 of skyrocketing taxes,” Pappas said. • In the suburbs, a two-story “Vote!” residence on Ardsley Road in Less than 29 percent of the Winnetka, where the tax voting-age population in the bill grew 1,174 percent, from Chicago has cast ballots in $53,014.39 to $675,486.36 The elections held since 2011, Pappas commercial properties with the said. In the suburbs, the percentage largest property tax increases from is just 26 percent. 2000 to 2019 are: “Too many people are voting with • In Chicago, an office building their feet instead of at the ballot box,” at 300 E. AI-enabled Mercedes-Benz Hyperscreen takes the digital dashboard to the next level
OnePlus Band
Ticks all boxes, does the basics really well OnePlus now has a smart band. Maybe, it was among the few things missing in its smart portfolio. The OnePlus Band certainly plugs that gap for the company and could be the start of a series of bands and smartwatch, the latter being a better brand fit in my books. So what is different about the OnePlus Band? Well, not much. In fact, the OnePlus Band is a very normal looking band with a colour display, comfortable strap and battery life that lasts 14 days. All features that would have awed you three years back. For 2021, the band comes with the ability to measure SPO2 and heart rate almost realtime. The OnePlus Band has a vibrant 1.1-inch AMOLED display with touch. There are no buttons on the tracker and you have just screen to touch into apps and swipe back to get to the main screen. This can be a bit frustrating initially, but you will get the hang of it. The band itself is basic, but comfortable to wear for long hours or take to bed. There are a bunch of watch faces, and the watch has almost everything you will need in a band from notifications, to music and weather. There are enough bells and whistles out there to add more value. You can use the band to control your phone camera, find the phone or just control the music. All that you would expect to see in a band. What OnePlus has done is curate everything you have seen in different bands into its wearable. This one literally ticks all the boxes.

ver the last decade, the vehicle dashboard has seen plenty of upgrades since the days of purely analog components. Featuring touchscreens, back-up camera views, hands-free directions via virtual-assistant, and more, the modern dashboard features myriad digital components to assist drivers on the move. On Wednesday, Mercedes-Benz unveiled a sleek artificial intelligence-enabled digital dash display called the MBUX Hyperscreen. With our MBUX Hyperscreen, a design vision becomes reality," said Gorden Wagener, Daimler Group chief design officer, in a press release. "We merge technology with design in a fascinating way that offers the customer unprecedented ease of use. We love simplicity, we have reached a new level of MBUX." While many vehicles tout central touchscreen components, the curved MBUX Hyperscreen extends nearly the full extension of the dashboard "from the left to the right A-pillar." The Hyperscreen includes metrics to assist the driver and also serves as an "attentive assistant for the passenger" who is provided their own display and operating area on the dash in front of them. The Hyperscreen uses AI and software to learn during use enabling the system to adapt and offer drivers "personalised suggestions" related to various "infotainment, comfort and vehicle functions." Samsung surges after Intel is said to consider chip outsourcing
Samsung Electronics Co rose the most in almost 10 months after Intel Corp was said to be considering asking the South Korean giant and Taiwan Semiconduc tor Manufacturing Co to make some of its most sophisticated chips, a major departure for the Silicon Valley pioneer. Samsung Electronics Co rose the most in almost 10 months after Intel Corp was said to be considering asking the South Korean giant and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co to make some of its most sophisticated chips, a major departure for the Silicon Valley pioneer. After successive delays in its chip fabrication processes, Santa Clara, California-based Intel has yet to make a final decision less than two weeks ahead of a scheduled announcement of its plans, according to people familiar with the deliberations. Any components that Intel might source from Taiwan wouldn’t come to market until 2023 at the earliest and would be based on established manufacturing processes already in use by other TSMC customers, said the people, asking not to be identified because the plans are private. Intel is still holding out hope for last-minute improvements in its own production capabilities. Talks with Samsung, whose foundry capabilities trail TSMC’s, are at a more preliminary stage, the people said. TSMC and Samsung representatives declined to comment. An Intel spokesperson referred to previous comments by Bob Swan, the company’s chief executive officer.

screen uses what Mercedes has dubbed a "zero layer" to mitigate the need to peruse submenus or deliver voice commands, according to the release. This allows the system to ensure that key applications are available "in a situational and contextual way."
The 56-inch curved screen extends nearly the full extension of the dashboard, serving as an "attentive assistant for the passenger," and can store multiple front passenger profiles for personalized experiences.
Apple, Amazon remove Parler after use in US Capitol riots
Apple Inc and Amazon.com Inc are removing Parler from their services, part of a growing backlash after the social media network was among those used to organize Wednesday’s riots at the Capitol. Apple dropped Parler from its App Store, while Amazon’s cloud unit decided to stop hosting the social media company starting Sunday night. They joined Alphabet Inc’s Google, which removed the app from its Google Play store on Friday, saying that it created an “ongoing and urgent public safety threat.” Apple’s decision came a day after the Cupertino, California-based technology giant threatened to remove the app, telling Parler developers Friday they had 24 hours to provide Apple with a plan for moderating and filtering the service.
HP EliteBook 840 G8 Aero The HP Elitebook 840 G8 Aero is a business laptop but it’s not as fancy as the notebooks in the Dragonfly series. It starts at a lightweight 1.15kg and comes with an 11thgen Intel Core processor with integrated graphics. It also comes with a built-in Tile tracker and optional 5G Wireless connectivity. The EliteBook Aero will hit retail stores in March. HP didn’t announce pricing.
