BSC Collaboration With Mandi Theater Celebrated Republic Day Of India

WASHINGTON, DC-The first Indian American to get a cabinet rank as US ambassador to the UN, Republican leader Nikki Haley, has hinted that she may be running for presidency in 2024.

The former South Carolina governor said on Fox News, “Well, when you’re looking at a run for president, you look at two things. You first look at, ‘does the current situation push for new?’ The second question is, ‘am I that person that could be that new leader?’”

She added, ““So do I think I could be that leader? Yes, But we are still working through things and we’ll figure it out. I’ve never lost a race. I said that then I still say that now. I’m not going to lose now,” Nikki’s full name is Nimrata Nikki Randhawa. She was born in South Carolina to immigrant Sikh parents who migrated to the US from India.

CHICAGO, IL- Over 200 members of Indian Seniors of Chicago got together to ring in festivities. The celebrations marked Makar Sankranti, India’s Republic Day and Birthday programs for the members. Treasurer Shri C.V. Desai presented the account for the month of December 2022. He also announced the names of the donors. The highlight of the event was some members who dressed as Indian icons and heroes of yesteryears. The evening saw members dressed as Mother India, Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, Gandhiji, Kasturba, Sardar Patel and Narendra Modi amongst many other dignitaries. Thanks were expressed to the members who participated in the demonstration of costumed characters. Flag Ceremony and costume parade were well planned and managed by Bhupendra and Gita Suthar.

CHICAGO, IL- Bharatiya Seniors of Chicago (BSC) and Mandi Theater (Alka Sharma) collaborated to present two comedy plays in Hindi and celebrated Republic day of India on Jan 21st at Rana Reagan Center in Carol Stream IL. Hindi Natak ”Panch Light’ tribute to Phanishwn Nath ‘Renu’ as part of New Year celebration with BSC. More then 900 BSC members enjoyed this plays.

Chicago’s singers Geetanjli Maru and Majhar sang Bollywood songs 60 & 70 and enjoyed Bollywood dances.

In the beginning of program BSC President welcome all VIP guest and new members and gave a Republic Day wishes. At the end of program everyone enjoyed delicious dinner.
