In the Name of Ecstasy You were always the smart boy; The boy who knew this and that, The one who told us stories of Gonzalo and Hercules And fairy-tales of little Elves hunting pebbles. We all listened with bright smiles; Mommy full of bliss in the kitchen, Daddy beaming as he read his newspaper. Yet today you’re the man in the dirt; A legion of dark winds following you. You remember not your footsteps; You laugh by your lone self – Eating that which was left for dogs, Blistering your nights with frightening screams, Singing songs that scares the children and haunts the adults – All in the name of ecstasy; Ecstasy that made you leave us for others; Those friends who only left you for dead – Murdering us all the same.

You thought you had everything calculated, The mathematics in life plain and clear; So you inhaled the deathly smoke; Smoked and sniffed away your sanity, Flying high in the summer sky Yet falling six feet into the ground. Our mother cried in the kitchen, Dad was sad, reading a letter; A letter of you parting ways.
