PROVA ESCRITA DE AVALIAÇÃO

Prova de Avaliação Inglês, Módulo 1 1.º Ano – TAI – TGEI – 2013-1016 Duração da Prova: 120 minutos Nome:

N.º GROUP I (75 p) READING COMPREHENSION

Be a CSI! Do you like analyzing things? Are you detailoriented? Do you have a tough stomach for gruesome things? If you answered yes, you could have a future career as a crime scene investigator! Read on to find out more. PROS: You play Sherlock Holmes and use clues to solve a crime and catch bad guys. Plus, you learn skills like how to take crime scene photos and dust for prints! CONS: Lots of night hours, writing long reports on all of the clues, seeing death on a regular basis.

THE CASES: It’s not always about hunting down a serial killer – in fact, most of the cases will be smaller crimes like burglaries. On average, you work on 5-10 cases a week. THE WORK: At the crime scene, you take photos and “bag” any potential clues (it might be something as simple as a pencil!). Then you send the important pieces of evidence to be tested for DNA, and you run fingerprints through a criminal database, review any surveillance video, and write a report describing every single clue you find (there could be anywhere from 1 to 300 or more pieces of evidence at a crime scene). IN GENERAL: Most departments pay $30,000 to $60,000 to start, the higher end being more common in bigger cities like Los Angeles or New York. With experience, you can earn up to $100,000 after a few years. And if you work more than 40 hours a week, you’ll probably get paid for overtime. www.cosmogirl.com
