01 “Architecture and design excite me with its ability to solve complex issues, with surprisingly simple solutions. I believe that a good design is a combination of efficiency and simplicity. We see large superlatives in the industry, while its relation to the people remains questionable. I believe, the combination of expression of power and necessity must be the driving factor of design. Design being a continuous process has helped me to enrich and make informed design decisions. Participating in social welfare activities has helped me stay grounded, and put my skill-set to good use. It reminds me of my prime goal as an architect Responsible design for society.”

But most important, addressing these barriers will unlock the potential of so many people with so much to contribute to the world.” -Stephen Hawking The people with determination hub design has been trully inspired by this quote , to create meaningful spaces by using Architecture as a tool to guide the journey of a deafblind.

Creating a space that would benefit the broad spectrum of the deafblind community gives more room for getting ready to live equally in the society. The site has great scope to achieve the needs of the targeted users due to its strong location. The hub will have a deafblind school, vocational center and a co-working office. Encouraging the integration of society with the deafblind, which will help to break large schacles of isolation is also a major component of the

Human scale | Accessibility | Passive design | Materiality | Craft
The design is a powerful architectural manifestation of creative Indian architecture in its rediscovery of traditional and local harmony with the place, people and their historic elements. The iconic spaces incorporate a logical framework that binds the site together in an organic way, making every element of the building exist coherently with a sweet poetic flair that encompasses one, away from the busy urban street. The design was never intended to just be a Convention Center but also a public square, an amphitheater, a garden, a work of art, and one truly experiences that as they make their way through the carefully designed journey that exerts a form of control on every user moving through the building, making circulation more than just a route.
The city of Ahmedabad, the seventh largest metropolis in India and the largest in the state of Gujarat, was founded in 1411 AD as a walled city on the eastern bank of the river Sabarmati. Historically Ahmedabad has been one of the most important centers of trade and commerce in western India. It is the home of several scientific and educational institutions of national, regional and global importance. The city has a great architectural tradition reflected in many exquisite monuments, temples and modern buildings.

Evaporative Cooling
The sunken interior spaces are insulated by clay within the structure. The heat from the sun is reduced by grassy mounds and the white reflective china mosaic that covers each vault. This traditional technique not only reduce the heat inside the building but also acts as an important element of the methodology in the use of waste material. Air cooling is not achieved by mechvanical technology, which in turn is expensive, but by strengthening traditional cooling devices, improved screens, cold water through which air is sucked and returned to the interior spaces, using the stack effect method. The design takes inspiration from the Pritzker prize winning Architect B V Doshi’s firm which is located in the same city - The Sangath!
15
The vault and the facades on the nothern and southern sides require different ways to tackle the heat gain. Primarily, the vault assembly will have to cover major portion of heat reflection rather than heat absorption. The southern facade could have larde decidous tree to act as shade givers. Decidous tree are local to the site as well. On the western facade, long thin slit windows must be provied to reduce the glare entering inside the built structure. Water cascading features can also be added to help. Schematic Section

Landmark | Engaged Community | Pedestrian-Friendly | Blue Space
The romance of the city and its dwellers is never-ending. A city is a living, thriving, ever-growing entity. Often organic chaos, with its sound, smell, movement, pace, and a characteristic pulse. Humans are social creatures, interaction on all scales- from close relationships to feeling part of a community—becomes an essential component of their wellbeing. Hence, there is an extensive potential for creating spaces that facilitate positive and safe social interactions. In context of rapidly deteriorating public spaces, neighbourhoods and cities, the collaboration of art and urban design is essentially important and must be acknowledged.
The cohesive approach of reclamation through art leads the way to design interventions that are diverse and unique, resulting in attractive and inclusive spaces. While every small element such as the material of pavement, street furniture and signs, traffic circulation create an impact in making an area distinctive and functional, art is one such design component which altogether, transforms the aesthetic of a space. Not only does art help create a visual identity of a place, say a neighbourhood, by reflecting its’ interests and aspirations, but it collectively shapes and defines it.
Potential Users are the community’s residents Lack of communal space for relaxation, entertainment, knowledge X-Factor of design is to create a strong landmark for the community
20
Urban Analysis
The is rich with culture and context. Sitting right in the middle of a residential hub creates potential for a strong responsive Urban Insert. The site also suggests for a stong landmark creating with the prominent location and natural features present, encouraging a pedestrian flow of traffic from one block to the other, hence helping strengthen the engagement level of the community.

urban design
While is typically thought of as addressing only the large-scale features of interventions, the success of an urban design intervention is determined through its implication across a range of scales. Ultimately a project acknowledges and addresses the conditions within the boundaries of the project, its implications on the larger surroundings, as well as its implications on an individual. Taking into consideration that the main user would come here for primarily entertainment, The design evolved from the variuos functions that the site could offer, and linking them to the main element of recieving in the human body. This in turn helped with the form development, as to taking inspiration from the same element that recieves that particular information. Although, the aim here was not for a direct interpretation, rather an inspiration for art in architecture.

Tribute Art | Homely | Interaction | Cozy | Free flowing | Engaging
Located at the hub of the educational city, the design potential would reach a large crowd of youngsters. Having to deal with life’s busy takes and turns, the cafe’s design had to be an escapism from life’s business. Art is one of the greatest form of relaxing the mind , body and soul. One of the regions famous artist was forgotten but remebered through his artworks. The cafe’s design was inspired by the different forms of art he explored and mainly one of his most famous painting of a lady in the yellow saree. The different forms of art defined the various spaces in the art cafe to let anyone unwind themselves.
PAINTING BY ARTIST K B KULKARNI
DESCRIPTION Main component is a young unmarried girl, Sleeping in yellow saree and magenta blouse. Sasket woven from dried leaves, placed near her legs Background and flooring merge to yellowgreen
INTERPRETATION Basket feels empty but also triggers curiosity of being occupied. The artist possesses a sense of allegory In the fast pacing world, we live in, with a to do list ready, one must pause for a while and take the time for herself. Everything can wait when compared to self nurture.
ANALYSIS Nature of painting is ‘hyper-realistic’. The asymmetrical painting draws focus to the details of the young woman. The artist has highlighted the activity of the woman, Lightings helps to alleviate the anthropometric expressions.
INSPIRATION A space to pause from the busy world and focus on self nurture- finding the artist within. To create pockets of different spaces by instilling ‘curiosity’ (inspiration from the basket) Free flow arrangement (inspiration from the pose of the woman for not being perfectly aligned) Colours- greens, yellows, magentas and greys. The use of magenta is minimal but pops through the other neutral colours ( inspiration from the blouse and saree borders)

café design

The ,was designed to play along the nature of the cafe, to add fun and openess from space to space, yet defining them. the dual purpose wall functions as a medium of frame for the art works and as a chalkboard on the other side. The individual cubids inside each frame would have canvas material on on of the sides, on which users could paint on. Upon completion, it could be placed on the grooves provided. Since it is detachable, if could also be used to frame on the wall later on, so as to bring in more space for the newer ones. On the other side the center portion of the wall has a chalk board, facing towards only 2 tables with seating of 4 each, hence creating a private zone for discussions. This wall, has so much of breathing space that it merges with the surrounding, yet having a profound language of its own.

Conceptual | Creative | Eye-catchy | Intriguing | Captivated
Product design evolved out of the conceptualization of household items, following ergonomics and ease in functioning. Over time it has also evolved as an artistic expression generating unique objects that have brought the character into our daily lives. When thinking of product design with a unique sense of perception and exceptional details, simple objects can turn as intruiging as possible. The concept of an island was used for this studio to come up with smal scale conceptual products with highes importance given to the transition of essence from idea to product. The colour palette, form, fluidity, function were all conceptulised from the very features of an island

The tripling dominoes represent the legacy that is passed on from one batch to the other. The Cheetah represents our pace and determination towards our goal. They together represent us as a team. The team may change every year but the will to achieve something doesn’t. With each passing year, we’re getting close to the reason why it all started in the first place, to create our own identity.

A sketch indicating a public plaza right in front of pedestrian bridge which connects the site with Luge park across. This is in clear line of vision from main entry plaza and thus forms a central place for all visitors to stop by, meet, relax or even have public events. This plaza is flanked with a 15m wide pedestrian boulevard which will be framed by various retail frontages and office terraces on the sides and an expansive lattice semi-open roof on top. This location is going to be an anchor point of site

Throughout this portfolio you can see that my work was a progress from the rough draft to the polished work. All of the work I composed onto this file was the journey of learning, unlearning and relearning. Each project has a prompt and its own individual purpose for me to seek and complete with finess. Every design I worked on had its own different skills. As a graduate I believe Architecture opened up my eyes to see the beauty of designing, to reflect on my personal experiences, observations, readings and much more in order to find myself through various design journeys. My portfolio is a testimony of how I can put everything together as one and let the user see the beauty of the artwork created. I am a young Architect fresh off the boat, with eagerness and motivation to bring my skill set at your table. With my ability to adapt different types of projects, challenges, and people, I believe I am well suited for a Junior Architect role in your esteemed firm.
