TOTAL BUILT : UP AREA : 30,007 sq m. COURSE OBJECTIVE : This thesis aims at UNDERSTANDING THE CONTEXT and design spaces in a neighborhood which will be beneficial for aging - in - place. Project statement : the design intervention includes designing of neighborhood according to the ever changing needs of senior citizens. the project focuses on redevelopment of parleshwar society in densely populated area of vile parle (e). the design was aimed at strengthening connections between existing amenities in the vicinity of the site and the design should include multiple factors of well ness which will offer physical, emotional and financial stability.

APARTMENT DESIGN Corridor / Verandah: Shading of peripheral rooms; Acts as a buffer and a transitional space. Reduces heat gain. Shades from solar glaze and rain. South facing room with verandah is best suited to get wind and light, even while avoiding glare and direct rain. East facing verandah creates one of the best sense of entry with morning sun rays through the columns.

TOTAL BUILT : UP AREA : 1 LAKH SQ FT. COURSE OBJECTIVE : TO UNDERSTAND THE CONTEXT AND FUNCTIONING OF A HOSPITAL AND INCORPORATE HEALING SPACES IN ARCHITECTURE. Project statement : the brief was to design a hospital consisting of separate women and child care units. the hospital shall also have diagnostic units and emergency wards. the focus of the design was to include healing spaces which include well ness units and healing gardens. the project brief was focused on designing therapeutic spaces for mothers and children and to take into account the views from the site, with respect to its context.

Structures on both sides of the road are more than 8 metres in height but employ different consstruc on techniques and were significanntly apart in their me of concep on.
Throughout this street are types of buildings which have commercial outlets on the ground level on one side of the street as opposed to a completely residen al cluter on the other side.

in sem v, the electives course work involved experiential design, for which sections of talaopali, a public space were observed and analyzed and design solutions were provided for one of the problems observed. in sem vi, 500 sq m area of kabutar khana in dadar was mapped for different street activities, demographics and building heights.

COURSE OBJECTIVE : AS A TRIBUTE TO LATE LEGENDARY INDIAN ARCHITECT CHARLES CORREA, STUDENTS OF PICA ARRANGED AN EXHIBITION OF SOME OF HIS GREATEST WORKS ON THIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY. TO GAIN A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING ABOUT HIS PRINCIPLES AND IDEOLOGIES AND DESIGN PROCESS, THE STUDENTS WERE ASKED TO VISIT ONE OF HIS STRUCTURES AND PREPARED A PRESENTATION IN FORM OF A 2 X 2 M PANEL AND A MODEL. EACH BATCH WAS DIVIDED INTO 8 GROUPS AND THEREFORE THE EXHIBITION INCLUDED DIFFERENT CATEGORIES OF STRUCTURES SUCH AS RESIDENTIAL, INSTITUTIONAL AND PAVILIONS.
