Learning to make a book is a great skill, once you know the basics, you can make more and more complicated books. In this lesson you will learn the basics of making an accordion book, in which a single long piece of paper is folding back and forth over itself to create individual pages. Once complete you can fill the pages of your book to tell stories and create pictures that change or grow as you open more pages.
This project is Ideal for second graders, but can be fun for all ages. Once you have mastered the technique of the accordion book, why not make things more interesting by adding pockets? All you need to do is fold the bottom edge of your sheet half way up the page, before you do your accordion fold.
