In 2001 aber studying Personal Training I travelled to the UK and Europe w here I d id s ome e xtensive t ravelling. On my return in 2002 I enrolled in an IMM diploma at Varsity College. My first two years where on campus but I decided to conRnue my third year via correspondence. It was during this year I travelled to the USA where I worked on the Vail Ski Resort as a junior events coordinator, this is where I fell in love with the e vents i ndustry a nd s nowboarding. Aber a season in Vail I returned I to Cape Town and was approached by a previous lecturer from Varsity College to work at a renowned local florist. In 2005 I bought over this florist and owner managed it for three and a half years. During my Rme as owner I was experienced to many events as a decor consultant and this is where I came in to contact with The Aleit Group, one the most presRgious wedding coordinaRon companies in South Africa. Aber assisRng with a few events I was approached by Aleit to come and work for him as a junior coordinator, where I quickly moved up to a senior coordinator posiRon, coordinaRng some the most elaborate and most published weddings and events in South Africa and internaRonally as well lecturing markeRng management at The Aleit Academy. Mid 2008 I decided to sell my business and focus on a career in the events industry. In 2010 Aleit offered me a shareholders opportunity in the group as a Director in a sister company we started called Just Jack. Just Jack has been running for the past two years, focusing mainly on the wedding industry. Aber five years with the company, over 75 weddings, I feel my Rme has come to move on. I am passionate about corporate evenRng and feel I have so much to offer coming from a weddings background. The a^enRon to detail which is so oben over looked at corporate level and paRence learned from dealing with Brides are just some of the skills I have learned from working in the industry. I enjoy travelling and meeRng new people, new experiences and facing n ew c hallenges. I consider myself to be driven, hard working, a team player, creaRve a nd a bsolutely p assionate a bout t he e vents i ndustry. The past five years have been invaluable lessons learned in the industry which has definitely set me up with a solid foundaRon for b igger a nd b e^er t hings.....
