There is a theory which suggests that the human species evolved to such an advanced state because of the female human's synchronistic alignment w it h th e m oon cycles. Milton ... I mean these people are like magic, they are magicians! In all three and in Ida Rolf as well, I found people who love so deeply and care so passionately, and have such wlsdolll.

by Suchita ne of the many things I love about producing Full Circle each week is the amazing people I get to meet and connect with all the time. People from all over the world, from many d i f ferent paths, teachers, experi ences; each path absolutely unique. Yct each profound, beautiful, ever-deepening and often funny. And it's a joy to explore with all these invariably colourful people, stories of their life's paths and experiences, with their twists and turns and great lessons. One recent gcm was Betty Fuller, who was here to teach Trager Bodywork at Osho Kirana. Betty is a large ~ o man wh o is also large in life, she has great passion, heart, humour and depth which came across very powerfu lly in her voice and expression on radio, but w il l be somewhat dim i n ished in print. But her stories of her meetings and experiences with some of the giants of bodyw or k and therapy in this century, Milton Trager, Moshe Feldenkrais, Ida Rolf and Fritz Perls and her role in bringing Feldenkrais and Trager Bodywork into the wo rld m ake great reading.

Moshe has such a reverence and appreciation for the in dwelling being that is within each of us. He would say: "You don't go into a session with someone and start shaking them. You approach such a being with some reverence and with some respect and acknowledgement and gratitude for its being. Because it knows so much more than you do, Treat it that wav, and be v ith it that way, and have the gentleness and thc affection." Moshc and Mi l ton met in 1981, they traded sessions. Here mere these two mcn, both approaching their 80», both with these incredible hands and great reverence for the body and thc caring and the love they had for the work. I was the only person allowed to be with them; my two guys included me! And I sat there streaming with tears. SUCHITA: W hat zuas the feeling in the room «>hen they zoere giving each other a session? BETTY; Total absorption, total focus, hook-up, a com plete beingness.

SUCHITA: Can you tell us of how you met Milton Trager

and howyou came to be thefacilitator of getting his zoork out into the world? BETTY: In June 1974, Milton Trager was invited to the Esalcn Institute in California ~ h ere I was teaching Feldenkrais at the time, Hc came to my class and I was doing an exercise for my neck, and it was clear that my neck was bothering me. I had had a serious fall from a waterfall and I had much trouble with it. He came up to me at the end of the class, held out his hand and said: " My name is Dr Trager, and I do similar w ork to w h a t y ou have been doing, and I w o ul d l ik e to help you w i t h y our neck!" I di d n' t let people fool around w it h m y neck. And he said: "I und erstand, someone's really hurt you badly or frightened you. My w o r k is very gentle, I w on't hurt you." An d he sat down on the floor w ith hi s legs spread apart and told me to lie down. An d I d i dn' t know how to get out of it! So as I lay down on my back I felt his velvety, wonderful, warm, soft and pil l ow y

hands clasp my head and neck and he did some gentle movements and within 30 seconds he could have thrown my head in the ocean and I w o u l d n' t have minded a bit! I' ve only felt hands remotely like his when I was worked on by M o she Feldenkrais. I sat up in about 8 minutes with no pain at all. And I said: "How can I leam to do this?"

SUCHITA: It seems to >ne that all these people u>ere little is7ands, who evolved their zz>ay of zoorking n>ith people by themselves. And when you came across them zoere not pa»» ing it on, and they were getting little or no recognition for u>hat they were doing. I'm interested in them hanging in there anyzvay, despite no obvious outzvard s«ccess. What zoa» your obserz>ation of that in these people? BETTY: Their integrity wo u ld n ot let them drop it in disgust and just give up. It just couldn't happen because the results they obtained were miraculous. They all had such integrity and such deep trust of what they were giving the world because it had come into them and through them and turned their lives around. They believed so deeply in w hat they did, and the results justified them feeling that way. When Milton was asked once: "What is the purpose of your work?", he said: "World peace, You see, peace is something you have to experience and one of the out comes of a Trager session is that you go beyond relax ation, you really experience peace. And if enough of us do, and with that radiating, we can bring it to thc earth. But most people are trying too hard, they're in their own way, and they don't ask for help, and they don' t see the help that is all around them. You just have to let yourself drop back into this other space and let it be

At this point, Milton Trager had never taught anybody, he had been doing it all by him self for 50 years. What it l ed to was my wanting to sponsor him and get him in t o the world. I thought he should teach everybody!

simple, and let it be loving and kind,"

SUCHITA: Can you slzare with us what this process of being this facilitator of these great people getting out into the world has been like for you?

and open yourself and let it happen."

BETTY: I f e el so blessed to have had these people drop

into my life. To be with Fritz Perls (who tumed my life around in one afternoon), and then find M o she and

He was also asked: "What is the essence of your work'?" and he said: "Don't try! Trying is tension, and makes you tighter than ever. Just don't try, just let go! And ask That's all the juicy sni ppets you get for this issue, for more explorations with remarkable people with the richness of their voices and expression directed to you, tune in on ... I .

This time being herc is total permis

E-mail from Osho Internati ona l Commune, Pune, December 7, 1996 The birthday celebration is just starting and the quote from Osho on the program is "Love is the most mysterious energy in the wh o l e world. It makes things happen. Perhaps love is the very centre of all that moves, of all the stars that are moving." — Just emerging from the "Path of Love", I feel a few lay ers of the onion have peeled off faster than I could imagine - expos ing a little more of me to the light. I f eel incredibly grateful to wh a t Osho has created here. With love, Ma De va Anu pa

I am very busy organising pass ports for the aliens arriving on the 11th (we are making a glow-in-the dark spaceship on Krishna House Roof for the festival). Lots of love, Ma K a r u n a This has been a phenomenal visit.. Shortly after arriving I di d the 21 day Vipassana Group. It definitely brought me here and opened me up. Since then it has been magical and lots of fun. I am feeling deeply connected to myself and Osho. Ma Premdaya Each visit I make to Osho Commune seems to have its own message. This time it has been: "Live from the heart, use the mind

as a tool and all thmgs are possible." Sw a mi D e va Anupam

Anupo just caught me on the run for a few sentences on "what it' s like to be here" ... Right now? This time of the year has its own flavour of intensity — like riding the ~ av es of high energy. In this moment, tun ing into the buzz of excitement as v e begin the festival to celebrate Osho's birthday. For me, especially at this time, I feel a sense of con n ecting more deeply with my o w n

energy and appreciating what an incredible experiment this Buddhafield is ... So much space to live out whatever is needed for my inner journey, Lots of love to Freo friends, Ma D h y a n Al o k a It is simply overwhelming for me to be part again of the magical hap pening in Pune. Becoming one in Buddha Hall each evening with the crazy bunch of White Robe drunk ards ... what to say! ... "It doesn' t get much better than this." How amazing to discover that the chair really isn't empty. Swami Anand Somen An exciting time - the inner and the outer. The ashram feels like a flower blooming. I love it, Ma Deva Alic e I'm trying to find w o rds to express how it feels being here - it is almost impossible. I feel grateful. I feel loved. Sometimes I feel deep pain. I tangibly feel the mystery. I am very

grateful, Ma Anand Yashodara (Anna from Nova)

in with myself, what I need, what I want, what's real! Connecting with Osho is connecting deeper and deeper with my self. I am so grate ful for this space ... and the "Path of Love" has cracked me wide open. I ove to all of you, M a Su b hadro The Buddhafield. I never knew what is means, "the Buddhafield". Now, sinking deeper into this place, a catalyst for fast change, where the Master is very much alive, I feel the meltlllg pot.. It ts beautiful t o partic ipate in the chaos, where unseen hands seem to bring everything together. I ove, Ma J iv an Bodhita r a In the commune from mo rning to evening, a swim at lunch, crisp cool evenings in Buddha Hall. Strange life and simple yet, that's why I am here. Swami Sa mv ed a This process "The Path of Love" is the single most important thing that has happened for me since tak ing sannyas. I knew I was looking for a major shift, the f!arne of the seeker had almost gone out.The person that went into the process is definitely not the same as the one who has emerged. It's far out! Karuna is here now - intimate moments with her, to lie in each others arms in silence and joy is beyond wonderful. Much love to you all, M a Pr em Yatra I'm doing a "one off" rat catching event for the festival - some things

never change! See you in March. Love, Ma Y u t h i k a

Beloved Osho, just one thing that I'm trying to watch but which is reality hard

is that when m y energy comes up it doesn't have a direction. I' ve been trying to watch it. l start behaving like a little four

pear-old and showing off'. Sometimes it feels there's a lot of'love coming up for people I love to be with, and I don't know what to do with it. t is good — nothing to be w<>rried about mm? Just make it' more ce»trcd. Direction is nnt important — centering is impnrtant. And there is B great differ ence between direction and centering. Direction is outwards — centering is inwards. Directions can bc many - cen tering can be only one. Ordinarily we have been taught, everybody has been taught, to put nur energy in a direction — that means towards a goal. That is not my teach ing. That's what is driving people crazy... because life has no direction. It is exploding in all directions simultane ously, it is a simultaneous explosion — it is not directed tovvards any goal what soever. It is not linear, not like a line; it is not a railway line. It is exploding in all directions, in every possible way. I ife is like that. So tn put direction to ynur life may mean you w il l be strug gling with life - and a man who starts forcing himself, channelises, becomes out nf contact with life. So somebody is after money - he has a direction, And snmebody is after poliflcal power - he has a direction. But these are the stupid

1

Become More

A Flower

BE CENTRED

people. All people who have direction are stuplcl. entering is needed that is totally different. When you explode, you must have a centre from w h ere there will be expression all over the place. You become a flower and the petals open in all directions. What will be the case if the petals - all the petals — open in one direction? The flower w ill not be there. They open in all directions and the fragrance released, goes to all direc tions - it has no direction, it is not addressed at all. It does not know where it is going, but one thing is cer tain, it is centred. The flower has a cen tre to it. So become more life a flower — be centred. Whenever you feel this energy, don't be worried about the direction. Just sit silently or stand silently, breathe slowly, and feel ynur energy centred just below the navel, mm? two inches

become a circle around yo« — gni»g in all the directi<>ns, Ill the petals moving Bll over the circle — but there will bc a centre in you Bnd you w il l »ot feel 1<>st. You will feel tlemend<>usly happy B»d at ease and Bt boule, But people have been taught Bbout cllrcctlon a»el nobody h,ls l>ecn taught about centering. No culture has vet' exlstecl which teaches centel'lng, a»el thatjs wha't ls»eeclccl, direct>on clfl ves people crazy because you lose con tact with life. It is unreal — direction is unreal. Direction moves into the future. And lit'e knows nn straight line — knows only circles, life is very circular. The seasons move in a circle, and the stars, and the earth and the moon and the sun and life itself, Birth, youth, old age, death, birth; it goes on moving in a cir cle, it is a cycle.. So when you start thinking of direction you go agBlnst life, vnu mBke B line, you become linear, ynu become one dimensional — and that's what madness is. Obsession is one-dimensional: an obsessed person is one who can only move on one line, That's not natural; that is not close to reality. So don't bother about direction there is not n eed. Simply think of one thing: when you start feeling energy, j ust remain centred so that you wi l l have a centre, a hub and the wheel ... the wheel can move on the hub, and all its movements are beautiful. It is pure

play of energy, L i f e has no goal. It is just leela — a

pure play of energy. So never become goal-oriented - never! We are

not going anywhere; we are simply here to delight, to dance, and to enjoy. This moment is all - the whole e xistence converges on this moment we are not going anyw h ere. All going is wrong. Just being here is right. So next time you feel energy, just centre it. And soon — within two, three weeks - you will be able to feel the cen tre. Once you feel the centering, there is great delight, a great benediction.

below the navel. And if by and by you c an feel it centred there, the energy wil l

The Robots uf Tantra

PPW A rriving in Bvron B<ay fro>n Europe in March 1997 i» S atva Puja, a therapeutic bodyw o r ker wh o specialises in imparting to others her understanding of reaching the source of tantric bliss. Together with her partner Candharaja, Satya I'uja will be running a 7-day residential workshop at Australia's most eastern point, Byron Bay, called 'I.ove: The Roots of Tantra'.

Don't expert this group to be like anything else you' ve ever heard or experienced before about Tantra. Don' t expect just to be taught the latest tricky wh izz bang technique to drive you and your lover w i ld. The difference between this course and others offered is fundamental, "I work w it h the dimension of 'being' and 'not doing', while many of the Tantra groups and books are about techniques, what to 'do'", I'uja explains. This course is only offered to a limited number of couples. Group time is given to developing sensitivity in the body, bringing av, areness to the present, without focus on any goal like achieving ejaculation or orgasm. Couples receive special guidelines and l,ove Keys which give a concrete understanding nf sex energy and the direct experience of Tantra, with structured time dedicated to experimenting w ith a new style of making love. There is no love-making wi t hin the group room, which is why a venue such as the 230-acre Byron Bay Beach Club is always chosen for this work. Here, participants stay in secluded cabins set in natural parkland, the ideal spot for each couple to experiment in pr ivacy. Within the isolated group room — located atop a sand-dune fronting directly onto the Pacific Ocean — a fresh orientation of sex is offered, based on the premise that

the highest potential of sex lies in a meeting of love and awareness, opening up new d i m ensions of love, intimacy and ecstasy, So what to expect'> To acquire and experience an intelligent, meditative approach to love-making, based on relaxation and silence. As Satya I'uja puts it, "consciousness brought to the genitals gives rise to a style of love-making which is a healing and empowering process for each person, and deepens communion and understanding between lovers." I'uja has been practising and teaching bodyw ork for 18 years, including nine years teaching at Osho Multiversity in I'oona. Intensive personal research into both sex energy and meditation, led Puja and Gandharaja to an approach of love-making that unites both the spiritual and physical. Their approach is based on the insights of Barry Long, together with Osho's vision and interpretation of the ancient Tantric Scriptures, For a brochure or further information on this astouncllng course, see acl page 7. "lf you can bring the light of intelligence into your sexuality, that light will transform it ... it will be something totally different, so different that you don't have a word for it ... When sex becomes joined together, is yoked with intelligence, a totally new energy is created — that energy is called Tantra." Osho - Philosophia Perennis

%'hat was our most memorable ex erience in 1996P Ma Prem Prarlhana This has been a memorable year in general, but the most outstanding experience was playing Cleopatra in the "Osho Theatre Intensive" Performance at Club Zorba. I had originally decided to do the eight week course as a ther apy (being a bit of a closet performer). It was great! But the month leading to the performance was a real "razor's edge" growth experience. Staying centred and open enough to expand and go with a fast-moving flow was an incredi ble challenge. Getting big enough to embody the character of such a woman. Saying an unconditional "yes" to the power and majesty with Heart. It was huge! I' ll always remember standing back stage - in the dark looking into Divyam's eyes and squeezing hands just before taking centre stage, holding it; being seen and seeing the love returned in so many peoples faces. It was so healing — you know - I haven' t looked bark. Thanks to everyone involved.

Ma Deva Yaari Selling my first painting was one of the great moments for me in '96, It was the opening night of a sannyas art exhibition. I was nervous of course, but felt good about the paintings. I always felt they spoke and said much more than I could ever say. A very sophisticated cou ple from Singapore spent a lot of time looking at what I considered to be the least exciting of all the works - Sunflo~ e rs, very representa tional, colourful " T ow a rds the Light". They asked endless questions and I remember the totality of my being in those moments. I wanted the painting to sell. I was so upfront, out there I'm usually so shy. Anyway it sold! Somehow it was strange to let it go - so much work and energy and care, I don't even have a photo graph of it. Thanks Sush for reminding me that's what it's all about ... totality, trust, let go, l iving N O W !

Ma Dhyan Charyo The most memorable event in the last year was my visit to Sedona, Arizona. An Osho academy happening in Osho's Buddhafield. I can't begin

to put into words my experiences. Basically it' s like this. My life is the garden I create. If I don' t want to live in a jungle it is my responsibility to nurture and create my garden in a harmonious way. For me it is about simplicity and being joy ful in the wor ld. Questioning what it means to be living Osho's vision in the wor ld. Stepping back from competitiveness and finding w ays so that the situation is a winn ing one for everyone. To me this is a real rising into liv ing from the heart. I know this sounds very idealistic but I' ve had a taste and that's ...

Ma Deva Dhara Going to Bali with Shantimayi. There were many wonderful experiences in this journey. Like the goose that came to satsang - he was in love with Shantimayi. Satsang was held in a

beautiful open air podium, surrounded by gar dens and banana plantations. The goose made

his entrance just before Shantimayi did each evening and wo uld take a seat in the front row. He was very attentive, very polite to all except Indra, Shantimayi's husband/ b o d y g uard. Whenever he saw Indra, he would stretch out his neck and hiss at him. There was the trip to Besakih, a 1000 year old great mother temple, sitting high up on M t A g u n g . There is an extra ordinary energy there. We went there to do an earth-healing meditation, but there was this very obnoxious "temple attendant" who made things difficult the whole way through. He interrupted the meditation and insisted on guiding us when we di d n' t w an t a guide. He seemed to think Shantimayi w o uld benefit from some religious education, and then at the end nf all this, he demanded a lot of money. We gave him some, which he threw back at us. Shantimayi, who had been completely serene up to that point, suddenly tu rned around and raged at him, which made him back off. And were all very surprised to see the guru behave in this way. For me, it was a beautiful experi ence to see this anger. There was nothing behind it, I still smile when I think about that.

Tod I was out shopping and I felt I needed a bit of luck. Why not buy a lotto ticket? They guy says " D'ya wanna buy a systems?" I say "Whv n o t " , not really know ing w hat that is, "That's 529",he says. "Oh! Gulp!" Oh w e ll, why n o t?!" Watching the lotto draw i ngs that night I had 4 numbers come up. Yippee! When I went to cash in the ticket I had won a w h ole $21. Didn' t seem fair. Oh well, just put the money back on

again. This ticket I put under my Osho marble for the week, giving it a bit of juice. Would you believe it, 6 numbers came up. 6 NU M BERS, a first division win. Well I got $16,000 for that ticket. There were 5 first division winners, Each winner got $480,000, and so our syndicate with 30 people in it got $16,000 each. Some bloke won second division and took home $1.2 mil lion. Now isn't that ...

Swami Anutosh Prathibodha (PI3) The highlight of this year has been designing and creating my own job and my own work environment. For years I have been working with permaculture design, implementation and teaching, I wanted a change in the way I was working, but did n ' t k n o w h o w i t w o u l d come. Well then this project came up. The project was designing, organising, setting up and now coor dinating the running of Fremantle Community Garden Centre together with M ik e H o l me. It was easy to say yes and then came the butter flies and heeby jeebies. This is a Ground Braking Place. Very expansive for me, an ongo ing challenge, bigger than we envisioned. How' to keep from creating a monster that consumes all the energy I put in ... (Swabodhi is a big help on this one). A beautiful oasis has been created and it feels like I'm looking after myself very well. After all, what's so bad about taking care of all these beautiful plants and flowers?

Thanks for sharing!

ou can do this while you' re still lying in bed, giving that little miniature YOU in your ear a nice, gentle massage. You can go asfast or as slow as you like, cov ering all the little curves and crevices, tugging a bit here, tickling a bit there. Massage one ear at a time, or both cars at once. Do it before j ou r m in d starts work ing and distracts you with its list of all the things you' ve got to do today. nd while we'rc on the subject of listening, and ears, another nice way to wake up is to take those few moments before you open your eyes to just listen to the sounds. I(lot just to hear them, but to listen. In a way that Buddhists call shrr(z>an,'right listening'. I ike this:

We listen, everyone listens, but right listening is a rare achievement. So what is the difference between lis tening and right listening, shraz)an7 Right listening means not just a fragmentary lis tening. I am saying something, you are listening to it there. Your ears are being used; you may not be just behind your ears at all; you may have gone somewhere e lse. You may not be present there. If you are not p r e sent there in your totality, then it cannot bc right listen ing. Right listening means you have become just your ears — the whole being is listening. No thinking inside, no thoughts, no thought process, only listening. Try it sometimes; it is a deep meditation in itself. Some birds are singing — thc crows — just become listening, forget everything — just be the ears. The wind is passing through the trees, the leaves are rustling; just become your ears, forget everything — no thought process, just listen. Become the ears. Then it is right listening, then your whole being is absorbed into it, then you are totally present. Changes, changes ... even newsletters aren't spared! Unfortunately, the economic reality of our Osho Wings newsletter is such that we are forced to go on subscription. We are no longer able to maintain this project on advertising alone. In other words, this is your last free issue. If you would like to keep getting the Wings mailed to your home, send us the coupon below along with your payment. Also we would like to thank all the people that did respond to our attempt to support ourselves through donations. It was very much appreciated and did keep us above wa ter for a while. We will automatically give a free yearly subscription to all the people that made a donation. We are confident that subscriptions will enable us to keep producing a beautiful, informative and juicy newsletter. We have been receiving much positive feedback lately, which makes it very clear that this newsletter is read and appreciated by many, many people. Our vision for this newsletter is to create an energetic link in our sannyas

community as well as sharing what we have to offer to many other people o ut there, that are seeking their Truth in the world of today , We would like to encourage you to use this newsletter as a podium to write about yourself, your work, thoughts, feelings and passions; or whatever turns you on. Take this beautiful opportunity to make a statement and to put yourself out, advertising your work and actively participating in the "Network", Let's support each other in the market place! And don't miss the next issue coming fresh off the press in March 97I The OshoM i n g s Team
