DESIGN YOUR CAREER Santa Ana College's Fashion & Merchandising program prepares students with the necessary skills to obtain positions in design, apparel manufacturing, product development, buying, fashion styling, visual merchandising, and other fashion related fields.
FASHION DESIGN The certificate and associate degree provides the basic aesthetic concepts and technical skills necessary for immediate employment in the fashion related fields of design and dressmaking or to transfer to a university program. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in apparel designing for custom clients, theater costuming and manufacturing operations. Completion of the certificate or degree enhances ability to obtain a position and advance in the fashion design field.

FASHION MERCHANDISING The certificate and associate degree in fashion merchandising is designed to prepare professionally trained students for a career in the fashion industry or to transfer to a university program. The program places emphasis on developing a student’s fashion sense and analytical abilities in such areas as sales, distribution, buying, merchandising, promotion and coordination of fashion items.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT This certificate and associate degree provides the technical skills and product background necessary to work under the direction of a designer in technical apparel jobs such as pattern making, grading, and sketching in ready-to-wear or theater costumes. Emphasis is placed on developing vocational skills including computer applications current to fashion design manufacturing.

ENROLLMENT Application: Students enrolling for the first time or who are returning after not attending the previous semester must complete an Admission application by applying online at www.sac.edu.
Cost: 46 dollars per unit (most classes are 2-3 units per class plus textbooks, supplies, parking & health and student body fees). For more information, please visit: www.sac.edu. Non-resident tuition: $255.00 per unit is required of all out-of-state and international students Certificates: Completion of the required classes of your selected program. You can complete as many certificates as desired.
A.A. Degree: Completion of the required program classes with completion of required General Education classes (see college catalog) can be taken before, after or with your certificate classes.
