Nearly five decades ago, Dan and Margaret Duckhorn set out on a remarkable journey, founding Duckhorn Vineyards in the heart of Napa Valley. Their story began in 1976 starting with a modest 8-acre vineyard in St. Helena, where they quickly built a reputation for quality and craftsmanship that far exceeded their initial ambitions.
Duckhorn's inaugural vintage, a 1978 Merlot, was met with widespread acclaim, paving the way for a legacy of excellence. The Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to positioning Santa Fe as a top culinary destination and nurturing appreciation for its outstanding restaurants and wines. Our mission focuses on the continuous education of restaurant staff in food, wine, and service, while also equipping local children with knowledge about healthy cooking and eating, led by talented Santa Fe chefs.
We are aiming for $150 paddle raises as possible: A single paddle raise funds five students through the Wine 101 course. Every three paddle raises sponsors one student for the Court of Sommelier class.
For over 11 years, the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta has invested in the local restaurant community through Wine 101 courses and certification funding via the Court of Master Sommeliers. To date, over 280 students have benefited, with more than $145,000 allocated to education and certifications. We’re excited to continue offering these programs year-round.

The property listed in the catalog, as may be amended by addendum or announcement, will be offered for sale by Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta, on the following terms and conditions:

All wine is sold “as is.” Neither the auctioneer nor the Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta makes any express or implied warranties or representations of any kind or nature with respect to the wine, and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of or be deemed to have made any representation or warranty of saleability, description, genuineness, attribution, provenance or condition concerning the property and no statement in the catalog or made at the sale or in the bill of sale or in the invoice or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty or representation or an assumption of liability. The Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta and the auctioneer shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages from the sale of any property.
2. The auctioneer and the Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta reserve the right to withdraw, or add at any time, any lot to either the live or silent auction before actual sales, or to com-bine lots.
3. Unless otherwise announced by the auctioneer or Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta, all bids are per lot as numbered in the printed catalog.
4. For live auction items, there will be a confidential reserve price below which the auction-eer will not accept a bid and will retail the lot on behalf of Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta.
5. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. The auctioneer has the right to reject any bid and to advance the bid at his absolute discretion and, in the event of any dispute between bidders, to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute. Should there be any dispute after the sale, the record of final sale shall be conclusive. On the fall of the auction hammer, the buyer assumes full risk and responsibility for the lot and may be required to sign a confirmation of pur-chase, supply his/her name and address, and pay the full purchase price. If the buyer fails to comply with any such requirement at time of winning silent or live auction, the lot may, at the auctioneer’s discretion, be put up and sold again.
6. All wines must be removed from the premises by the buyer on September 28,2023
7. Payment may be made with American Express, Mastercard, VISA, or personal check. Cash will not be received as payment of any lot purchased. All checks shall be made pay-able to the Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta.
