Monthly Featured Businesses: March 2022
The City of Santa Maria and Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce are partnering to highlight different businesses in the City of Santa Maria through their Santa Maria Featured Businesses program. This program gives recognition to businesses who have been in the community for a significant amount of time, and/or providing unique or significant contributions to our community. Not only does this give valuable exposure to these local businesses, it also reminds our community of the unique, diverse and longstanding businesses we are fortunate to have in Santa Maria.
The focus for 12 months, since December 2021, is on major manufacturers and women-owned businesses in the City. Each month, one business from each of these two categories is recognized during the City Council meeting and publicized by the City and the Chamber.
April 2022 Featured Businesses
• Women-Owned Business: Care Connection Transport Services (Nancy Crawford, owner)
• Manufacturing Business: Safran Cabin Santa Maria
Care Connection Transport Services, founded in 2019, provides essential nonemergency medical transportation services for ambulatory, wheelchair, bed-bound, and behavioral health clients throughout the Central Coast. Owned by Nancy Crawford, the company last year increased its fleet to eight mobility vehicles and completed more than 12,000 trips. Care Connection works closely with local hospitals, community non-profits, and health organizations.
Safran Cabin, a global company with 10,000 employees, provides innovative aircraft cabin interiors, systems, equipment and services. Its Santa Maria operation employs 500 and will continue to hire this year. The company focuses on the design, development and certification of aircraft cabin interiors for commercial and business jets. The local team produces overhead storage bins, integrated cabins interiors, passenger services units, business jet interiors, and complex curved parts.
