Las vivienda excavada en Crevillent. Estudio arquitectónico.
LAS VIVIENDA EXCAVADA EN CREVILLENT. ESTUDIO ARQUITECTÓNICO. Joaquín López Davó1 joaquin.lopez@gcloud.ua.es Resumen: El presente artículo pretende repasar el origen de la vivienda-cueva en Crevillent (Alicante) y su evolución histórica en el municipio. También se pretende mostrar de forma somera su técnica constructiva y sus características morfológicas, exponiendo las cuatro tipologías constructivas en las que se han podido clasificar las viviendas-cueva estudiadas, haciendo por último un repaso a los dos elementos más diferenciadores de las cuevas de Crevillent con respecto a las de otros municipios, centrándonos en las lumbreras y en la habitación hiladora, estancia esta última, referida al pasado industrial del crecimiento de la población. Abstract: This article aims to review the origin of the cave-dwelling in Crevillent (Alicante) and its historical evolution in the town. We'll also intend to briefly present its constructive technique and its morphological characteristics, showing the four constructive typologies in which the studied cave-dwellings have been classified. Finally, we'll review the two most differentiating elements of the Crevillent that set their cave-dwellings apart from the ones located in other towns. We'll focus on the luminaries and knitting room, the later refering to a past population growth with industrial roots. Keywords: Cave, troglodyte architecture, excavated housing.
Introducción: A las viviendas-cuevas se les ha llamado de muchas formas: viviendas excavadas, arquitectura troglodita, vivienda subterránea, etc., lo que parece dar a entender que se buscan eufemismos y/o sinónimos que intentan evitar consideraciones negativas a la hora de definir una vivienda-cueva. Este tipo de viviendas siempre ha tenido consideraciones que las hacían parecer infraviviendas, con falta de salubridad y con habitantes de bajo nivel social y económico.
