STRATEGIES The project consisted in designing eleven schools located in a floodplain in the littoral area of Choco. The durability of 50 or more years with a high flood level was the first requirement, also there were rejected the idea of using wood as main construction material because of today regulations and the need of sending material to being immunized it meant higher costs for the project.
Design Development General views
Under these conditions the design process was oriented to understand the difference between the two working communities and their needs and claims, searching the way to unify them in a same structural proposal taking in account major fields as thermal comfort and cultural identity through form and connexion with the territory.

THE STREET AS A MEETING POINT The sudden availability of strongly defined public space on a stretch of 2,5 km in a relatively dense urban environment gives the opportunity to insert a new centrality that has the potential to become a destination in itself - symbolizing a new kind of liberty in contrast with the 20th century ideal of liberty linked to the private individual means of transport
