Bringing its heating, cooling and ventilation expertise in Turkey since July 2011, Daikin managed to be a super brand of Turkey in its third year.

Daikin now ranks among the 134 super brands of Turkey, as declared by Superbrands Turkey. Having been chosen as a super brand of Turkey in such short time has been our pride and honour. And the contributions of our respectable partners are indisputable! Hereby I would like to express my gratitude once againâ&#x20AC;Ś Another good news was the certification of â&#x20AC;&#x153;Euroventâ&#x20AC;? which proves all VRV systems statistics declared by Daikin. Given at the end of a very elaborate and challenging process, the Eurovent certificate investigates the product performance to match the European and other international standards.

We have been coming together with our dealers on many occasions. We shared our new term objectives and strategies in one of these meetings with our dealers. In the Daikin Turkey Dealers Meeting which took place in February, we came together with 200 Daikin dealers and executives. We believe that, with the strength we take from our brand and the ever expanding Daikin Family, we will continue to lead the sector, to offer the utmost quality products and services to our customers, and to contribute in the Turkish economy.

The Swiss pilot Andre Borschberg set off on his journey around the world which he is planning to complete without using fossil fuel. Starting off in his single place solar-powered aircraft from Abu Dhabi, the pilot is planning to complete his tour around the world in 5 months. The 17 thousand solar energy cells on the wings of Solar Impulse-2, which will be used by two pilots in turns, and the lithium ion batteries to be used during the night flights carry vital importance. The pilots will take breaks around various corners of the world for maintenance works and to convey messages on the use of solar energy and alternative clean fuels. The success of Solar Impulse-2 is expected to be a major turning point in reducing the use of fossil fuel.

Countdown continues for the worldâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s fastest car. Designed in Bristol, England and resembling more of a rocket rather than an automobile, Bloodhound will go on a low speed test ride in the airport. In case all goes according to the plan, it will be sent to South Africa for the world record attempt. The driver is Wing Commander Andy Green from The British Air Forces, the former world record holder with 1228km/h.

The global tourist magnet and the iconographic French symbol Eiffel Tower is becoming more eco-sensitive with wind turbines. In this way, at least a part of the electrical demand of the tower, which currently requires a tremendous amount of energy, will be supplied through natural resources.

Located in the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, the two wind turbines generate energy regardless of the wind direction. If all goes as planned, the electric supply of the tower will be reduced by 25 per cent.

The biodegradation of plastics, which piles up to be the biggest kind of waste in the world, requires a very long time. Accordingly, plastic wastes are the most problematic. Now food is planned to be produced from waste plastics with the Fungi Mutarium experiment.

In the experiment, the fungus Pestalotiopsis Microspora is used to decompose plastics without their toxic ingredients. The sterilized plastic is placed inside eg-shaped capsules, where fungus interacts with the plastic. Later on, the plastic filled capsule is injected with the diluted fungus in a sterile way, to be left aside for a couple of weeks. After a few months, it turns into an edible egg-like substance.

Japanese scientists succeeded in the cable-free transfer 1,8 kW energy to 55 meters distance by microwave transmission, The energy transmitted to 55 meters distance by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) scientists is only sufficient to operate a kettle, however is estimated to develop into greater achievements in larger distances.

With the method, the energy that will be generated by solar pannels in the space is aimed to be transferred to earth in the future.

Samsung designed a fantastic dog house with a treadmill, pool and tablet inside. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Samsung Dream Doghouseâ&#x20AC;? project manager claims that this is the project of â&#x20AC;&#x153;dog houses of the futureâ&#x20AC;?. The house has two rooms, decorated with many cushions, an artificial turf treadmill, automatic dog food and water system, and Samsung Tab S. The tablet serves as a sort of television for your dog, in which you can upload films and videos that will catch your dogâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s attention. The dog houses are presently in sale only in UK at the price of 30 thousand dollars.

In near future, there will be no need to carry around your battery charger. Working hard to resolve the charging problem of smart phones, technology companies developed a wat to charge smart phones on solar power.

Â " # Â&#x201E; figures, the traces of which have only begun to appear in macro economic data such as growth, industrial production, inflation, unemployment, balance of current payments, and which were actually expected to be good might not fulfill the expectations. And the second quarter is expected to witness an even higher tension, as the elections are approaching, so discussions on economic 52

management, constitution, presidency will become more heated. The third and the fourth quarters will be eventually shaped by the election results and the potential change in economic management status.

The ebbing in the field of export due to the stagnancy in our international trade partner countries have been impacted positively with the simultaneous decrease in energy costs and the weakening in domestic demand. It should be kept in mind that Turkey is a country with current budget deficit. In other words, it is in need of external financing and its growth is depending on it. Selfsufficient nations, or countries with current surplus, do not need to consider what is going on around the world so much. Accordingly, Turkey has to keep close track of the world because of its external financing issues.

As a result, our messages of security, stability and predictability to the world are crucially important. More precisely, we must display a consensus in the economic stance and our outlook on the matters, be able to explain the promised growth by structural reforms, and be predictable about an ambiance free from endogeneous crises. As a supporting element, a well-functioning legal system is an important criterium to reinforce trust.

Q Particiating the worldâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s biggest heating, cooling and air conditioning show ISH Frankfurt 2015 with its Rotex and Airfel brands, Daikinâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s energy efficiency efforts are met with huge interest.
