Free Port - Cyprus My project drifted away from the museum toward the idea of free port, based on the one existing in Geneva. The Port Franc is today considered like one of the greatest art collection in the world, as well as the largest wine cellar, hidden behind an elaborated security system and the swiss culture of secrecy. Through two relatively minors legislative changes in Cyprus, we could create the necessary legal framework for this new entreprise: I products held in customs are not taxable II free trade with Turkey I started from the free port’s main caracteristic: secrecy, and translated it architecturally. A dark, introverted building without visible openings, windows, nor doors, isolated in the countryside of the Buffer Zone.
