Google, Facebook and Twitter won't have to pay domestic tax under new IT rules

It seems a golden time for the global tech companies including Google, Facebook and Twitter, appointing grievance officers beneath new information technology(IT) guidelines does not suggest that they have an “everlasting institution” in India. But when their native workplace performs enterprise features and contributes to the income of a father or mother agency overseas, it could appeal to home taxes stated by two folks within the income division. Despite having local offices in the country, their entire income does not come under the tax net due to different tax structures under which they operate. However, they pay an equalisation levy of 6% on their advertising revenue and digital transactions.

Vodafone creating indoor openran solution for business customers

Vodafone and Mavenir are working on a small cell solution based on OpenRAN technology, to provide indoor 4G connectivity for business customers. Designed for business customers who occupy medium to large office spaces, the plug-and-play small cell equipment can ensure comprehensive mobile coverage in every corner of the office. The solution will provide 4G coverage initially. The design of the indoor small call solution is based on the OpenRAN philosophy of interoperability. In this case, the software will be provided by Mavenir (Open vRAN), while Sercomm will provide the radio hardware. The design and flexibility of the small cell solution means it will be interoperable with other OpenRAN compliant vendors. A powerful, indoor small cell solution can offer several advantages to business customers. The simple plug and play installation means coverage can be instantly deployed, enabling seamless connectivity for every device in the office. The interoperability of the OpenRAN ecosystem paves the way for long-term flexibility to work with a wider array of vendors for elements such as radio units, baseband hardware, and gateways.

Netgear routers found Authentication failures and system hijack vulnerabilities

Microsoft revealed a series of vulnerabilities found in Netgear routers that could potentially lead to data leaks and full system compromise as it shows authentication failure. The vulnerabilities were patched prior to public disclosure due to their nature. The series of bugs impact DGN-2200v1 series routers and could be exploited by an attacker to roam untethered throughout an entire organization, according to Microsoft. Microsoft’s security team discovered the vulnerabilities are detecting strange behavior in the router’s management port. Upon investigation of the router firmware, security researchers were able to uncover three HTTPd authentication flaws in the device. The first flaw allowed the security team to access any page on a device, including those that require authentication. The flaw operated by appending GET variables in requests within substrings, allowing for authentication bypass. The second flaw permitted side-channel attacks and was found in how the router verified users through HTTP headers. According to Microsoft, attackers could exploit this bug to extract stored credentials. The third vulnerability utilized the prior authentication bypass bug to extract configuration restore files.

NXP and Jio Platforms partner to implement a 5G NR O-RAN small cell solution

NXP Semiconductors N.V. and Jio Platforms (JPL), a subsidiary of RIL, announced a collaboration to implement a 5G NR O-RAN small cell solution that incorporates NXP’s Layerscape family of multicore processors. The combined solution will power new RAN networks that will deliver high performance, enabling a wide range of 5G use cases for broadband access as well as Industry 4.0 and IoT applications, including tele-medicine, tele-education, augmented/virtual reality, drone-based agricultural monitoring and more. JPL has leveraged the high performance and flexibility of NXP’s Layerscape processors in its new 5G NR solutions. The combination enables a powerful offering that has successfully tested at 100 MHz channel bandwidth in 3.5 GHz spectrum with peak data rates of 1 Gbps+. This translates to increased performance for a wide range of segments, enabling innovative applications in smart cities, smart homes, health and education, and significantly enhanced user experience in data download rates for all mobile users. As a result, JPL’s 5G NR radio solutions are well suited for next generation RAN networks, providing increased indoor and outdoor performance and enabling a wide range of 5G use cases.
