Providing a safe, healthy and interesting environment to all the children at a very start is the best development policy to build healthy, properous, creative and sustainable communities. A better design public spaces where all the children can thrive will eventually lead to a successful society. The policy, also means that planning simultaneously for other vulnerable groups in the society (disabled and elderly).

In the light of the whole study regarding the traditional urban spaces and their role in the contemporary transformation of public realm; we can state that these spaces will not erode the traditionalism, identity and authenticity from itself but will positively exist in parallel and complementary to it. They act as catalysts in the process of urban transformation whilst playing their role in providing the necessities in present times and should be perceived not as entities secluded from its timeframe and socio-cultural context but as their direct derivatives.

URBAN DESIGN
AN URBAN PROJECT AT ISLE OF DOGS, LONDON (group project)
CONTEXT
The project is an urban analysis and design proposal of an area within the region of Isle of Dogs in the East End of London; situated in the Borough of Tower of Hamlets. The major site identified is surrounding by the Marshwall road and South Quay on the north and on the canal in the Millwall Inner and Outer docks. It is situated in between the Exchange tower and Riverside Montessori School on eitherof the sides. It forms an opportunity site area, surrounded with a range of high end commercial, high density residential and leisure activities.
OPPORTUNITIES
DESIGN CONCEPT
1. Increase the accessibility between East and West by providing a crossing on the canal; 2. Create connections between the existing public spaces, those are currently segregated by canals; 3. Encourage more local activities by extending the existing activity area 4. Enhance the existing linkage to the wider area by creating a high quality pedestrian network with active frontages supported; 5. Transform the area into a key activity centre actracting both residential and office area.
1.The design proposes an extension to the existing retail building at the East side and West side of Millwall dock and envisages a bridge to enhance the accessibility within. 2. Provide more smart components and retail to create a vibrant activity core in the middle of residential area and major office group. 3. Encourage an alternative active route along the key entrance.

PUBLIC REALM
A PUBLIC REALM PROJECT AT CASTALIA SQUARE (ISLE OF DOGS)
The
site is located near one of the main roads aligned to Marshwall road which should give it some importance; however, it doesn’t. Being in the heart of a residential area, the square has pedestrian accessibility from different sides, however none is making the public space more noticeable, active, pleasant and valuable.
OPPORTUNITIES 1. The square is characterized as a neighbourhood square with existing local facilities like medical and community centre. 2. Affordable residential zone surroundings providing an opportunity for community social interaction. 3. The small retail outlets provides some of the necessary facilities. 4. The square features a public park in the vicinity. 5. Characteristic local architecture and infrastructure.
CONCEPT • Increased accessibility, due to connectivity with major aligned roads (Manchester road and De Ferry road) • The square to be integrated with St. John’s park, as the • expansion will enhance the visual connectivity of green space • Active frontages and circumference around the square • Displacement of front communal area, and forming a • designed landscaped area as a value addition to the square. • Proposal of pedestrian way to ensure less traffic density • Proposal of a shared space in between the square and the new communal zone
CONNECTION STRATEGY
OPEN SPACE STRATEGY
Several sites along the main street are marked as potential sites for open space development by local masterplan. This will form a huge open space ‘belt’ between residential and commercial area.
LONG TERM PROPOSALS
The connection strategy defined by local masterplan suggests a potential bridge linking the DLR station to Canary Wharf area.`
CONNECTION STRATEGY
Enhances the identity as a key activity zone and would be well-connected with the Canary Wharf area. The proposed connection strategy boosts the canalside developement, that could allow activities to penetrate into the residential area.
OPEN SPACE STRATEGY
The public space proposal would be a link between the Millwall Docks and the Castalia square through the proposed ‘Bridge project’. This will create a green belt that could further improve the living environment.
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF ‘THE BOROUGH’ SOUTHWARK AREA, LONDON
CONTEXT
A four hectare study area, ‘The Borough’ Southwark is an area with mixed land use pattern forming one of the oldest streets in London.
The study identifies some particular focus ‘sites’ for the regeneration, like the one at its centre defined by Borough High Street (at the east edge), Marshalsea Road (south), Southwark Bridge Road (west) and Southwark Street (north). The area functions both as a business district and a tourist location in the Southern part of River Thames.
OPPORTUNITIES - Accessibility to public transport. - Few listed buildings. - Opportunities to regenerate. - Increase the economic value of the site and area. - Existing historical urban fabric - Room to envisage more active frontages along street
CONSTRAINTS - Insufficient land use - Lack of permeability and legibility - Safety issues surrounding the area - Poor appearance and quality of infrastructure
To provide an integrated urban environment accounting to a social sustainability

URBAN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
A VISION M
To achieve a higher degree of social, economic and environmental su visation on the physical appearance of the study area;
The vision ensures a multifaceted outlook in improving the quality o civic infrastructure and facilities and public places; The vision also has a broad outlook to respond to the congested urban fabric by introducing breathing green pockets and to convert the busy thoroughfare to a modern, low traffic neighbourhood street;

A FITNESS CENTRE AT SALISBURY PARK, PUNE
A clean site in the vicinity of a residential zone is considered for the proposal of fitness centre.
The proposal not only takes into account the sensitivity of the place- physically, socially, economically but also of the main usage of the design. My aim was to design a centre catering all the different physical mental needs of a human.
