EXPERIENCE OF THE ISA COORDINATOR
We at RKK are making every student a confident surfer who can surf on giant waves on the surfing board of British Council. Future belongs to the table turners and game changers. For laying the perfect foundation – stone for the future society, ISA has given RKK a zealous burst. Epitomizing humility, values, ethos, determination and devotion to be the future role models and leaders is what every student at RKK is ready to take on. The philosophy of holistic education is seeped, infused and entrenched profoundly into the ethos and curriculum of the school. Students from Jodhpur, a small city lacked the exposure of metro cities. Families with high hopes and aspirations were looking for their children to broaden their horizons and this has been provided by the British Council and their concept of International Learning & Sharing. Working for ISA Projects has filled every student with positive attitude to discover their own inner strength and an opportunity to see the world around them with a different vision. We focus on participant – learning and we provide the most conducive environment to our students. Our vision is to enrich the lives of our students to enable them to excel in all arenas and walks of life. The entire journey of completing ISA Projects : ‘Shakespeare Lives’ , ‘The Read - O – Mania’ , ‘Planning a Platter’, ‘The Pen Rules….’ , ‘Spell Bee ’, ‘Coins and Currencies’ and ‘Breaking Boundaries’ has been truly educative and knowledgeable. Commendable co-operation, commitment, whole hearted support and untiring efforts of the staff and students has led to the successful submission of our projects undertaken.

COORDINATOR’S REPORT
It’s the best to get the play’s off the book and on to the stage so as to fully appreciate Shakespeare. Number of factors were considered before we decided which play were we going to perform – o Knowledge of Shakespearean theatre – The plays were performed in day light, without curtains & that male actors played all the roles. o The plot, themes, character, language and literary devices of the plays were discussed with students. o The plot and theme that appealed to most of the students was considered. o The play was read and then the act was chosen. Dictionary by David Crystal was used. o Copies of what we liked to see our students do were given in advance. o Students watched the DVD for the targeted play. o The script of the selected act was read aloud by the teacher and the pupils listened to her later they compared the scene and story with versions exposed to them in both film & text. o Class was divided into groups. o Assigning part to each student of the group so that every member of the class is involved. o Students were then asked to present monologues from the scenes already given to them for their audition. o Once the audition was finished, cast was announced. Copies of the text with description of each character like physical traits etc were given to the selected lot. o Rehearsal schedule, dates, timings was set and the venue was checked as well. o Rehearsal started in the class itself and additional classes as we got closer to performance. o The selected lot (the cast) was then taught how to read Shakespeare. This helped the students understand & memorize the lines well. o Shakespeare is about the words and the story so, the focus was on students’ learning their lines well. o Venue was decided and dress rehearsal was done. The interesting part of the whole activity was that the makeup and costumes were done by the students. o Two students were given the responsibility backstage who kept everything flowing smoothly. o
Watching students grow was very rewarding. They earlier saw his work irrelevent, boring and difficult but this activity improved their perception and a long term appreciation of Shakespeare. 58

If we speak about ‘Activity method’ it is a technique adopted by a teacher to emphasize his or her method of teaching through activity in which the students participate rigorously and bring about efficient learning experiences. It is a child-centred approach. It is a method in which the child is actively involved in participating mentally and physically. Learning by doing is the main focus in this method. Learning by doing is imperative in successful learning since it is well proved that more the senses are stimulated, more a person learns and longer he/she retains. "Education means all round development of the child". Keeping this is mind the activity of Read-O-Mania was taken up by Rajmata for Classes VI to XII in order to develop the student's personalities in many ways.

INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION
‘Truly Global Citizens’ is what we want our students to be. Language is the light of mind. It is the medium of communication and English being the window to the world is a universally accepted language needs to be learnt right from the root level. As a unifying language of instructions, people can communicate faster by mastering English language to face the technological advances, developing relationships in international forums. Hence at RKK, it is our endeavour to focus on equipping the students with this skill. Through phonetics and application of various linguistic principles we can face the challenges of the 21st Century. ‘Spell Bee’ competition was conducted for the children which proved to be an extremely enriching experience to help them build their vocabulary, develop self-confidence and help them overcome the language barriers across the world. The larger goal of this initiative was to help the children identify their uniqueness and strength, imbibe correct diction and various nuances of the language while developing leadership qualities so that they grow as global citizens. The one aspect which is of great importance is Understanding of Money by Children. Although they may not understand what each coin represents or even how money actually works, most kids like money because they know it can be used to get them what they want. Money is everywhere! Children encounter money and economic lessons in their everyday lives. In this era of globalization, the role of information technology and media is enormous. So, at Elementary level, educating children about money is integral. Teachers have the duty to teach children a basic understanding of how money works. To create sensible awareness of money, its importance, value, use, spending and saving of money is the main aim of this project.
193
In order to generate awareness in students, for smooth conduction of the activity The concepts will be taught through hands-on explorations, activities, integration of the Core Knowledge, Coin recognition, counting coins, Correct usage of signs and Comparing coin values.
Students will be taught to count by ones, fives and tens as well as a combination of all. Next, brainstorming will be done on how money is used in their lives. Children will be shown different coins to identify them. Further they will be taught the value of each coin. Then it will be the time to count money, one coin at a time. Real money, worksheets and plastics money will be used to practice. Quiz will be conducted. Exhibition will be showcased. More savvy ways will be used to enhance learning.
194

COORDINATOR’S REPORT
Mr Yatheesh Kasargod
Art has always been a source of relaxation to mind. These activities when conducted with the students made them better artists. It refined their creativity and imagination. Children got to know that a problem can be solved in many ways and every question has more than one answer. It all depends upon how the problem or issue in interpreted. It taught them that their small steps can have big repercussions. What is imagined or conceptualized can be expressed by colours in different forms. I found the children sharing a highly praiseworthy attitude for the work of other children. It turned unknown people into friends. A virtual change in their life in school, behavior, opinions and mindset has been witnessed. Communication skills became strong and school skills were seen for better than before. Overall this activity has been a life changing activity for our students as the exposure to cross culturalism has been immense.

Nurturing global citizenship in young people. Enriching teaching and learning in collaboration with like- minded schools across the globe.
Education in RKK means nurturing little hearts to flap their wings and fly in the vast open sky of knowledge. We now have the onus to fortify the students with acumen, alacrity, flair and finesse to take on the rapidly changing and demanding world scenario. Today the sky is the limit. We at RKK, go beyond the syllabus and also make inroads within the confines of the syllabus set by the National Board to provide the much needed edge and erudition to its students to face today’s challenges. Spearheaded by its dynamic Principal, Mrs Neera Singh, the school provides wholesome education and sends out into the world, bold, confident and enterprising young ladies, ready to face any challenge. The diverse and varied activities planned by the school for its students cater to every whim and interest. Ranging from Fine Arts, Dance, Music, Papier Mache, GK, Model United Nation, Debates, Declamation, French Cookery, Yoga, Zumba, Martial Arts, Cookery and many more….. The inclusion of the school in the elite Round Square, Indian Public Schools’ Conference American Field Service Memberships have opened a window to the world for our students, have broadened their outlook thus augmenting their thirst for knowledge and self enhancement. The trained, qualified and dedicated faculty not only coax, inspire and motivate but go to an extra mile to attain precision and polish to perfection each and every nuance. ‘Think Globally, Act Locally’, ‘Local Roots, Global Reach’ and ‘Indian Depth, Global Breadth’ are some of the notions in action when implemented our projects and activities. Thereby, a true RKKian who has gone through the gamut of it all can go forth and stake their claim in the Universe with pride. The ISA has unlocked new vistas for our students to explore untouched domains and scale greater heights to reach the pinnacle of success. Profuse Gratitude to The British Council International School Award for providing a rich, rewarding and enriching impetus to us in implementing widely acclaimed pedagogies and educational experiences to make it a joyous learning for our students. A portfolio or Dossier of evidences of the activities performed for all the projects has been compiled and submitted to the Delhi Office of the British Council for their approval.
