BIG DIG
The elevated Atlantic Avenue decline started with the Boston Molasses Disaster interrupting service for a month. The elevated railway proved to be an eyesore, and a source of unneccessary noise. Bustitution, and another interuption in 1928 made this transportation obsolete in 1938.
