The fair stand is three-dimensional marketing tool and represent the company. Marketing and Design must develop together from the beginning. The idea is the basis of the communication strategy and created to the target customers who want to approach the product. The fair stand must be a sensory architecture, a pleasant atmosphere, simple and continuous spaces, progressions and rhythms between the different areas ( information area, social area, exhibition area, business area and private area).

Colors, lights, design and audio-visual effects are used to present products and services. The modular structure, seemingly very complex, is flexible and gives the possibility of plural different solutions. In the project, the modulor isn’t a single immutable element but with using the “folding” technique it allows us to obtain a three-dimensional element from a plan.

We propose a place to spend moments of playful life; our emotions depend also from the places where we spend our time. The organization of space, the use of colours, the choice of furniture and the presence of perfumes should generate welfare in people who use the space. In this cafeteria you should receive a general anaesthetic vision that if it was food could be called “fusion! Genuineness, care, honesty and respect for the environment should be the ingredients for a successful realization.

The revitalization of the castle starts by two points; the subdivision of the castle into four functional wings: museum MIR, educational area, restaurant area and city halls. All the function are linked with the central courtyard which is designed as a meeting space with the underground conference hall. The second point is the new relationship with the territory by 4 tematic path: health, game, historical and botanical.

“The installation at Cite de l’Architecture in Paris represents a basic human necessity, a shelter, Symbol of refuge. The outer form should respect natural resources and minimal impact on the ground. The design of the interior dictates modesty, totally subordinate to the function of the shelter providing basic accommodation. Prototypes of small inhabitable units create different interior spatial conditions and relations. Different agglomerations can adapt to the terrain and site condition and create also spaces of surprise around the envelope. Playing with 3d models, both physical and digital is essential in our work – finding unexpected can create something new and different. Visitors are invited to create their own minimal spaces and put photos on instagram. After the exhibit all different suggestions will be collected and represented in a book.“

EXTENSION AALTO MUSEUM F I N L A N D

OFFICE MATTEO CAINER ARCHITECTS

Connecting the Alvar Aalto museum with the museum of central Finland, presents a unique opportunity to explore Alvar Aalto’s architectural legacy. Through a refined abstraction of his work, a new and poetic architectural language will weave through time a harmonious and interconnected ensemble, blurring the boundaries between existing and new. It will establish a continuous ‘parcour’ where both space and time will enlighten our understanding of the museum’s collection and Aalto himself. Architecture evolves from thoughts that are executed and lived. When intelligent and transformative, it reacts and adapts to its surroundings, and for the ever-changing demands of the visiting public, we believe that the museum of tomorrow should be experienced as a public parcour, one enriched by diverse functions and offering multiple outcomes. We therefore designed the new extension to acts more as a flexible joint that redistributes flows, while redefining a new permeability and a more

GROUND FLOOR PLAN

PHASING DIAGRAM The proposed extension will not only serve as a connecting gateway between museums, but will also allow the combined body to develop as a unique cultural environment, integrating the aesthetic, functional, and economic goals of a larger and more varied institution through an extended programme of activities. The shops have been located on different levels so as to dialogue both with the public and with the adjacent spaces. The gift shop on the ground floor so as to engage the public atrium and workshops while the bookshop on the upper floor in connection

with the exhibition spaces and with an exterior break out space set into the landscape. The project aims to introduce a new informality through a series of circulation spaces that establish new and engaging public places. This new pumping ‘heart’ will lead to a series of elegantly lit flexible function spaces which include the gift/book shop, the shared auditorium of the Museum of Central Finland, the extended ‘Café Alvar’ of the Alvar Aalto Museum and new working/meeting and education spaces.

IUAV 2015

The post graduate course Touch Fair Architecture & Design Exhibit proposes an innovative method of composition and design for fair stands and exhibit spaces. The Final Open Critic is the proof. In the future the few elements of the project can be reshuffled and create other forms for new projects. This exhibition is the proof; the whites volumes have already been used previously in an exhibition designed by architect Laezza for the company Colorcom. Recycling, sustainability, innovation and experimentation are keywords of the project. The purpose are to guide the visitor through space to tell the story of exhibition.

OFFICE ARCH. BLOCCARI SETTIMO COSTRUZIONI

We have designed a processing plant and refrigeration storage of fresh and frozen food in BarranquillaColombia. This project meets the need to preservation view of the growing demand of fresh food. In a hot country the ice is a luxury product and our idea reduces the cost of production and transforms it into an object of daily use. The consumption of fresh and healthy frozen food will spread for the general welfare of the population. The photovoltaic system captures solar energy and transforms it into ice. For the design we started with the idea of the shape and aggregation of ice crystals. Thinking back the crystal shape, we have developed a belt that embraces the shed, with the composition of triangular slopes shiny and opaque. At certain points the shed reaches the ground and ends in a pool deep few centimeters with constant recirculation of the same water. The building reflects itself in water . On the wing of offices, the plants will be able to take advantage of the perforated surfaces as support to climb.

The project respects the rule of 8R : 1.Redistribute of natural resources 2.Reuse lengthening the life cycle of products 3.Recycle 4.Reduce the impact on the biosphere 5.Re-locate to promote the consumption of local products 6.Renovate and conform to new functions of life 7.Re-contextualise the concept of wealth and poverty 8.Re-evaluate and revise the values we believe

What in the past have been real barriers, today are architecture objects, which lend themselves to playful and carefree games of this gymnast and anyone else want to have fun. The project represents Venice through the reinterpretation of its main elements, which make this city universally recognisable: the water, the wooden poles, the historical column in Piazza San Marco and the texture of the Venetian colorful fabrics. The project can be viewed through double sense: the macro view where you see the sheet of water with the reflections and the bases which represent the Venice’s district

and the micro view where you can see also the pillars; the new entrance of the city for the people of different countries. The white metal pillars are covered by a texture captured from the Venetians fabrics. In the middle of the roundabout is placed the eolic turbine for justify the energy for the pomp of the water recirculation and the light.technique it allows us to obtain a threedimensional element from a plan.

The purpose of the chapel is to create a space which captures the visitors with a vast sense of wellbeing. As a testament to minimalist architecture, the crosses void in the main wall is the only prominent religious symbol present in the church. At the left of the sacred space there is the

altar and through it leading to the sacristy. The altar is illuminated by natural light come by the big cross behind it. As a modern, minimalist structure the chapel emits an architectural purity that is found in the details.

The square of Casa Rossa is a hub area between Italy and Slovenia. The project consists in the creation of a square of events in which you can do fair, concerts, markets and exhibitions. The area out of the square of events is apparently a maze of trails even if the paths have been studied with some logical functions to avoid confusion. The heart of the maze is represented by cubic volumes that are repeated throughout the area. The module used is 5x5x5 and which can be accopiabile. The functions of the volumes are 4: outdoor activities, culture and social, sports and restaurations. The volumes diversify by type of exterior finish and shape; a form of C that rotates and moves in space form 4 types of different volumes.

The transformation project dealt with the “border place which is located between the major urban centres and is in fact the result of their continuous expansion. The transformation backdrop is the attention against waste and/or excesses and it is implemented through integration strategies and concentration of compatible services. In so doing it facilitates the formation of economies of scale, the focus of development poles along the cross-border railway line to ensure sustainable accessibility, as well as the development of renewable energy sources as a further facilitation to investment operations.

BOULEVARD FOR THE PUBLIC CITY The structure of the city is characterized by link road that connects the sea with the Carso hill and going trough different urban structures. Although such Boulevard is conceptually uniform, when analyzed in detail it is modified by the real needs and characteristics of single areas. This project is seeking to recognize shifts at urban scale and its target is the re-education of citizens to a more conscious use of the city, with a moderate use of cars.
