Developed, under my manager’s supervision, a tailored program for interior designers to increase Jotun’s brand awareness and generate market relevant trends and design insights. Generated an on-hand interior designers’ database and a one year calendar with all the activities and seminars to be held. Planned the launch for Jotun’s Interior designers’ association and its accompanied event. Created Trends and design insights to be used when communicating with end consumers and design professionals at Jotun’s in-house gallery.

Participated in the conceptual design of a mega mall in Dubai, next to Expo 2020, to help initiate a project strategy that will eventually drive the final design. Generated and analyzed conceptual elevations and sections to communicate the ideas and forms that the architecture may bring about. Attended a Skype meeting with the project manager in Dubai and participated in the discussion about finalizing the conceptual design.

Access Bank

Project Type Administrative Location Lagos, Nigeria March 2019

After the merger, the new brand promises access more than banking, and this implies excellence, innovation and passion. These Values are to be taken into consideration throughout the whole design process. The entrance of the floor is to be designed specifically to reflect the brand’s values and to welcome the visitors in an unforgettable journey through the brand’s story. The Chairman’s Office is required to have a WC that includes a toilet, a shower and a dressing. It also needs to have a seating area and a meeting table with a video-conferencing facility. There has to be an office for two Personal Assistants that is located in a separatelyaccessed area and not at the main entrance of the office. A Massive Boardroom for 50 people - 30 people around the boardroom table and a space for 20 aides behind. In addition, the Boardroom is to have a screen and a projector as well. The Executive Lounge is to entail a residential feel with 3 to 4 clusters of seating.

First Design Option

01 West Golf Villa Freelancer (SUEÑOS Design Studio) Architectural Design | Renovation of an existing design | Project Type Residential Location New Cairo, Egypt Worked on the existing elevation of the villa and re-solved the interior spaces according to the client’s requests. Accordingly, this led to some changes in the exterior elevation which were further developed to break the monotony of the lengthy facade. Two options were generated and the first option was the chosen one. 20

The master bedroom was extended to allow a space for a walk-in closet behind the bed. The added part is in a stone flooring material; highlighting the addition and also leading to the living space outside the room. Some of the renders convey the changes occurred in the living room; which was earlier another bedroom you find first on the right side walking down the corridor. The wall was demolished and that led to the addition of more space and giving a sense of openness. A small divider was built, overlooking the corridor, with glass on top to define the space. Furthermore, curtains were added for privacy in case of having some visitors over in the reception and also to give more definition. The old existing parquet was kept but cleaned and varnished. The walls were repainted in Silk Grey Matte paint. The corridor was given the stone flooring used earlier to highlight the change in space, add more definition and give a feeling that the space was enlarged. Finally, the Reception area along with the dining were re-designed to be one large open space. The outdoor terraces were extended to the outside, creating more space for a working desk and a day bed.

Human beings have an inherent need to connect with nature and green spaces and that is known by the biophilia concept.

03 The Exotic Office Freelancer (SUEÑOS Design Studio) Interior Design | Biophilia Concept | Client

Two young Businessmen

Project Type Office Location Sheraton, Cairo June 2018

The Main Project’s goal is to design a biophilic office space over a two-apartment area, facing each other on the ground floor of a residential building. The two offices are for two young businessmen; each one of them has a different personality and that was taken into consideration during the whole design process. The design of the two offices follow one theme but each has its own essence and colors. The first office will be hosting two partners along with the functions of accounting and operations. The second office will have only one manager along with the functions of sales and operations. It is advised to share a high-tech, well developed meeting room in order to decrease the overall execution cost. Accordingly, the meeting room is accessible from the side yard, outside the two apartments, making it easy for visitors and business partners to join meetings. A wide broadened backyard + a sideyard will be shared between the 2 offices to achieve the maximum benefit and design value from the place.

38

A small kitchenette is provided in the reception “Waiting area”.

After researching our target client the “Millenials, we decided to highlight one main important trait that is specific to this generation and forms our main concept; the idea of Isolated Togetherness.

01 3 rd S p a c e Design Workshop Domus Academy Master in Interior & Living Design

Collaborative Work

This central communal element is described as an elevated stepped platform, each side portraying the area it faces with the use of different seating typologies for the several scenarios.

Project Type Hotel Location Milan, Italy

We applied the same concept in the pool area, having certain areas such as the long breakfast table and the immersed bar as communal spaces and some others are more isolated such as the seatings that are raised on a two-stepped platform.

In order to translate this into our space, we decided to create a third space that resembles a public square which gathers all the functions around it. In addition, two main axis were generated emphasizing the orientation of our main entrances and offering a welcoming atmosphere for the outsiders.

As for the guest bedroom, we applied our concept by completely changing the typical hotel room layout, transforming the bed into a communal area on its own.

“Art is a harmony parallel with nature.” This quote said by Paul Cezanne was one of the phrases that popped into my mind right after I knew about “Luigi Bianchi Mantova”.

02 Parallelo Design Workshop Domus Academy Master in Interior & Living Design | In Conjunction with LUBIAM | Collaborative Work Ariana Brauer Priya Theate

Project Type Retail Location Milan, Italy April 2015

This brand that existed long time ago since 1911, it was first established by Luigi Bianchi and it had a lot to do with reflecting nature and creating a new rhythm for men clothing since then till nowadays. After reviewing the brand’s collection and going back through the history of making the suits, I realized that there is always something from the past. The brand had always kept the idea of having something from its origins and this appeared in many ways ranging from the dying process of cloth till sewing and producing. Accordingly, our project name had to be about parallelism, that harmony Luigi Bianchi always had with their origins and whatever is happening in their surrounding nature. The project name was then identified as “Parallelo”. The concept was kind of clear to us and that we need to combine parallelism between the old and new in a distinctive way. We created a character that is “David” the statue created by Micheal Angelo. We gave this character an identity and we mentioned that he is aiming to the model of luigi Bianchi Mantova Line.

“One cup of Turkish Coffee means 40 years of memory”

03 A Sip of Memory Design Workshop Domus Academy Master in Interior & Living Design | In Conjunction with Wega |

Hence, we, the Turkish coffee group, noticed that one sip of Turkish coffee could have a magical memorable experience and that’s how the project name was generated as, “A Sip Of Memory”. The space reflects a new rich experience since it engages our customers to share their space, time and memory together, all in one place.

Collaborative Work

There is one main element created in the coffee space, which is a long table surrounding all the functions around it. It resembles a living organism, giving life to anything that interacts with it.

Project Type F&B Location Milan, Italy

Different seating typologies are created around the main table to signify the different rituals of drinking Turkish coffee.

Bahar Oztok Laetitia Matta Rumeysa Nehir Kurt

February 2015

82

This quote is considered one of the most famous proverbs about Turkish coffee. It reflects the significance of one cup of Turkish coffee and the memory it creates, letting it last for 40 years.

An amusing game was created on the main table, combing different abstracted Turkish patterns and the symbols of fortune telling, resembling a map. By that, the table with the patterned-map acted as the main attraction point in the space, causing people to play on it and search for the different symbols, creating maximum engagement between the customers.

After analyzing the site, it was found that most of the site’s heritage has been neglected throughout the different ages. That’s why the design approach of this project is to create a cultural experience by unrevealing the multi-layered heritage of the old city. This project will connect the whole area by linking its 3 main zones: A) The city life “Residential zone” B) The Archaeological site and the NMEC C) The Religious complex Having 3 axes extending from each zone, they intersect forming a central area representing the linkage in a physical space. Al Khan will blend the locals from different parts of the area while penetrating its urban fabric. It also exposes the heritage of the old city by providing a total view for different parts of the area through the building from different angles of vision. In order to achieve this panoramic view of the city, the corner of the building is pulled upwards, creating an open space overlooking the archaeological site and its upper levels will view the rest of the area.

The Revival

The main project’s concept is to refurbish the settlement while keeping the identity. It was necessary to keep the green area and enlarge it by creating green corridors in order to get more transpiration of trees, obviate the heat island effect and bind fine dust particles.

The main concept of this residential development is the integration of the view within the project making it accessible to all clusters and allowing them to be equal in value and in experience.

Our development overlooks the river Nile which is one of the most valuable natural views that Egypt has. Our land is contoured to allow maximum views for all clusters so that nomatter which cluster a client chooses, he will always have the best view possible. For maximum integration of the view we created all the private green areas infront of each cluster to have a branch of the lagoon within, so that an access to water and greenary is available. For the main gathering area, we situated a club house over-looking the whole development including a lagoon and greenary within the main pedestrian path enclosing it. We used arcs in the design of our clusters, inspired by the subtle waves of the river Nile. It provided us with the best orientation possible for the residential units and also maximum view exposure.
