Styling Appointment Before your shoot we’ll schedule a styling appointment with our in-house stylist, Cassie. At your appointment we’ll go over inspiration, outfits and plan all the little details for your shoot. This is a great time to bounce ideas off of one another and get on the same page. MAKE-UP Come to the studio with clean, moisturized skin and our beauty team will take it from there! The team exclusively uses the Mirabella line, a luxury cosmetic brand. How do you typically wear your makeup? Are you glamorous, smokey eye kind of girl
or mascara only kind of girl? We will keep in line with your everyday look but with an extra Kick. We plan to have fun with your makeup while keeping a classic, timeless look. You will walk out of the studio with a gorgeous glow ready for your styled shoot.

HA IR Come with second day hair (as long as it isn’t full of product!) and our beauty team will take it from there. If you have a specific idea of what you want it to look like, bring pictures. Or show us your Pinterest board! It’s always fun to plan multiple looks to add variety to your images. Add in a headband for the boho look or do a messy fishtail with your last casual outfit. We love changing it up throughout the session!

MADISON CHAPMAN Madison Chapman will graduate from Campbell County High School this year, but she also attended Grace Christian Academy for several years. This day was about so much more than pretty pictures. It was a day that celebrated the incredible girl that Madison is and the woman she is becoming.
I knew from the first minute of Mary Beth King’s styling consultation that she was a girl I would love. She wanted to make sure she got some pictures with her brother during her senior session. How sweet is that?! She goes to Powell High School and my favorite part of her downtown shoot was wrapping up with some ice cream at Coolato Gelato!

SAVANNAH PRICE I loved wandering around some of my favorite spots in Downtown Knoxville with Savannah Price. To know this girl is to love her. She has a gentle spirit that lights up a room with the kindness in her eyes.. And she is BEAUTIFUL! I can’t get over how angelic she looked in the field.

ABBEY PARROT Abbey Parrott is a Class of 2015 Senior at Grace Christian Academy. She dedicates so much of her time to athletics and its obvious what a hard worker she is. One of my favorite things about her senior photo shoot is that she wore her grandmother’s braclet in all of her pictures. I LOVE special details like this. It makes these photos even more meaningful to her whole family.
SARAH & KAREN Karen and Sarah Carcello are absolutely the sweetest girls around. They are both seniors and will be starting UTK in the fall. When I heard that they volunteer every week at Knoxville Children’s Hospital, that said it all. They have hearts of gold!
ABBY WHITE I have known Abby White, upcoming Senior at Powell High School, since she was in daycare and see her family at church every Sunday, so this was an extra special photo shoot for me. Besides being a beautiful girl with the most amazing green eyes, she is so loveable. And the girl put together the cutest outfits! You know I love a good flower headband. :)

Just because you’re growing up doesn’t mean you can’t get natural looking photos, perfect for graduation announcements and your dad’s desk at work.

JOSIE’S BOUTIQUE We have a partnership with our favorite local boutique, Josie’s! It’s close to the studio and if you haven’t been, it’s a hidden treasure you will want to know about! They carry favorite brands like Judith March and Ya Los Angeles, and their store is always packed full of new goodies. Josie’s allows all Sarah McAffry clients to borrow 4 to 5 items! They can only hold the items for one day, so

go in the day before to pick out your favorite things. Just let them know you’ll be picking out clothes for a photo shoot with Sarah, and they’ll hold everything behind the counter for Sarah to pick up the day of the shoot. Send Sarah an email or a text to let her know you picked some things out, and it will be waiting for you at the studio!

BEHIND THE SCENES
Rarely will you see me on a shoot without my favorite Hunter Boots. They even have their own hashtag. :) Search #shootboots on Instagram for more photos than you ever wanted to see of my boots! PREPARATION WEEK BEFORE: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Drink tons of water to cleanse your skin of toxins and impurities and your skin will be glowing for the shoot! DAY BEFORE: Eat super healthy foods. No pizza, nothing greasy and heavy. We’re talking apples, bananas, salmon, asparagus. Okay, you don’t HAVE to eat asparagus, but you get the picture! DAY OF: Keep drinking lots of water! Eat a good, healthy breakfast and lunch to make sure you have energy for the day. We need you feeling strong all day!

Every girl is different, with her own personality and passions. Why not show who you are in your photos? One of our favorite personalized stories from the Class of 2015, is of Wendy Harmon. She decided to surprise her Tennessee-loving dad with some Volunteer inspired outfits. IN REVIEW These Class of 2015 Seniors had an amazing year full of epic styled photo shoots, and they came back to the studio to model in the Shine in 2015 photo shoot and to dream and hope for all the things to come in the next year. It was a day that inspired and encouraged them to be their best self in the coming year. It is our hope that every girl who walks through the studio door feels the same thing.

Award-winning photographer Sarah McAffry opened her doors in 2009 and has been photographing seniors, weddings and families ever since. She is a former high school English teacher and loves getting to work with seniors at photo sessions since she misses them in the classroom! Voted Knoxville’s Best by Cityview Magazine, Sarah has been published in national magazines and online publications, such as Senior Style Guide, Wedding Chicks, Weddings Unveiled, Grey Likes Weddings, Ruffled Blog and Baby Lifestyles. Sarah and her husband Andrew have two little ones, Charlotte and Brooks, and are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia.
