Located in Kansas City, Kansas, the University of Kansas Medical School draws a significant demand for housing, catering to both students seeking a short commute and the elderly desiring proximity to medical services. The prime location, directly across from the Medical School, presents an opportunity to address this housing demand while promoting the school’s commitment to healthy living.

This project goes beyond mere housing; it aims to create a vibrant community with a strong sense of place. Envisioning a healthy community, we have included essential amenities that support a wholesome lifestyle, such as a day care, gym, grocery store, office spaces, and communal outdoor areas. Moreover, our design fosters a sense of privacy within the homes, while thoughtfully arranging apartments to encourage connections with neighbors.

Emphasizing the significance of sunlight, the building’s shape has been artfully crafted to harness natural light effectively. We have prioritized outdoor spaces, capitalizing on sunlight to encourage healthy living and well-being among residents.

In summary, our design for this sought-after plot near the Medical School not only addresses the housing needs but also encompasses a holistic approach, creating a community with a strong sense of belonging and a focus on promoting healthy lifestyles.
