ARE YOU TIRED
For someone who struggles with drinking enough water on a daily basis, I definitely saw a lack of a products that would keep an up-to-date record of all the water I drank. Every product would have the user manually input an estimated amount of water. There is no product to accurately track the water you drank, until now. Hydright is a product that will automatically track your water intake without you having to manually input any guessed amount of ounces of water that you think you drank. This product will also tell you how much water you should be drinking daily based on your body type.
When thinking about who would use this product, it was obvious that everyone can. After all, every single person needs to and does drink water, but my target market is definitively the millennial generation. That generation is full of multitaskers and people who are always on the go. Sometimes, it’s people like this that tend to be more forgetful towards their own self care.
Choosing the name for this product was extremely hard, I’m not gonna lie. I did not want to choose something too complex or, visa versa, something too simple. Although, once I had a list of potential names it was easy to land on Hydright. It reminded me of the word hydrate, which is the whole purpose of the product. It’s hydration done right, after all.
For the logo, I tried my best to stay away from the classic water drop mark. I wanted to do something different and show something fluid and simple. The final logo is a hand-drawn logotype as a logo. Although, I did add a subtle water drop for the dot of the “i.

If you have ever been in a health class or taught about drinking water, you most likely have been told to drink eight glasses of water or to drink 64 ounces a day. But that doesn’t make sense when compare different bodies. A woman who weighs 130 pounds and is 5’4” tall should not be drinking the same amount of water as a man who weighs 180 pounds and that is 5’10”. That just doesn’t make sense. Either that woman will be over hydrated or that man will be dehydrated. Every person should have an individualized amount of ounces of water to drink. If you download the Hydright app, you can find out the correct amount of ounces that you should be drinking.
DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU SHOULD
The color palette I originally had in mind was blues and greens only but, it was lacking something. I also wanted to make sure I had Pantone colors. I used the Pantone Studio app to take a photo of my mood board. Then it gave me five color selectors that I moved around until I got this color palette.

When thinking of patterns, I want to stay with the simple, but elegant theme. This is where I decided to emphasize the water drop mark. These were my two patterns and with two different sets of colors for each pattern.
I choose to be most creative with packaging. I found an amazing flat pattern that made the shape of a water drop when put together. I added an inset packaging to make the product fit better.
DO YOU KEEP FORGETTING
Are you a part of the generation of multi-taskers? Or are you just inherently a multi-tasker? Are you so busy that you forget to do the simple things, like self care? Have you tried other apps to remind you to drink water, but they only have set time reminders? The reminders don’t have a correlation with how much you have drank that day. The Hydright app will only remind you to drink water when are falling behind on your hourly intake. Either way it will still remind you to drink more until you reach your daily minimum.
