Back of House Mission Statement The Back of House team is striving to cohesively direct the back of house production for the Art Institute of Seattle Spring Fashion Show. Working directly with the designers and their collections, our team will be organizing the back of house including organizing collections, fittings, dressing, styling, hair & makeup. Communication, leadership, and delegation are key to our group’s focus due to the variety of tasks taken on by the group. Each team member will be held responsible for their tasks assigned during the team meetings, as well as their prepared contributions made outside of class. We are determined to make this production a successful collaboration between the fashion programs at the Art Institute of Seattle. Team Members: • • • • •

They manage the master list for garments, models, and designers as well as ensure each garment is catalogued properly with photos and descriptions. Model headshots and specifications are recorded and placed accordingly into the Back of House binder. The Back of House Producers remain in constant communication with the Front of House Producers as well as with the Back of House Team. All documentation is kept in their possession and sketches are compiled. They remain available as a source for questions from the Event Production Team, Designers, and other various ties.

Dressing Room Manager/Merchandise Coordinator (Lauren Diseth) Lauren, as Dressing Room Manager, is required to be exceptionally organized at her task. She is in charge of the garment order spreadsheet that will ensure garments are placed on models at the appropriate time. Lauren will have the final say that garments are runway ready. As Merchandise Coordinator, Lauren is responsible for all the garments that are entered into the show and overlooks the styling process. She participates in the model fittings by taking careful note and snapping photos to add to the Lookbook as needed. Designer Representative/Hair and Make Up Lead (Caitlin Scully) Caitlin, as Designer Representative, is charge of assisting the Back of House co-producers with designer contact information. She makes sure that garments are runway ready. She also assists with creating and maintaining the spreadsheets that deal with model specifications and category order/organization. Caitlin will stay in contact with and feed information to the Seattle Art Institute’s Admissions as we reach out to High Schools in the area. On the day of the show, she will lead the “Designer Q & A” for interested student. As the Hair and Make Up Lead, Caitlin is in charge of taking the vision for the fashion show and creating Hair and Make Up concept boards. She is to research the Spring/Summer and Fall trends for 2013. These will be given to the Hair and Make Up artists.
Sponsor/Swag Bag Rep/Creative Director (Cotie Goozee) Cotie is in charge of reaching out to/confirming sponsors that can support our fashion show and/or donate to the Swag Bags. Cotie will visit vendors and businesses that may be able to participate. Aside from this, she is to assist with any unanticipated tasks dealing with items such as inventory, sorting, organizing of supplies and materials, etc. Since this year we are working hand in hand with the Seattle Symphony, we need to search for music that is relevant to the them yet still is up-beat and appropriate for the fashion show. Cotie is to search for potential music and present it to DJ Leslie for approval. As is everyone, Cotie will write blog posts regarding the shows progress.
