I AM LUXURY, was a breif set by Louis Vuitton

T-SHIRT STORE

I worked to an open breif for The T-Shirt Store Leeds. Inspired by their graphic print, geometric lines and negative space against positive, I created woodcut prints to be used on their garments.

FINAL DESIGNS

FINAL DESIGN

My final design submission a trapeze shaped cotton shirt

wool skirt. My print has been used for small details to contrast the minimal style of the shirt.

URBAN OUTFITTERS LEEDS set a breif for an illustration reflecting their style. I created a lino cut illustration Inspired by the bold graphic print used in their garments. The illustration

was displayed in the store and a zine was produced containing the work.

U.O

Context of Practice initial research began with the idea of transformable garments and textiles. I studied modular design and was inspired by the personal and unique element it can have for the wearer.

PROTECTION

The concept of transformable fashion triggered research into portable environments. I have taken inspiration from various artists and designers who use this concept in their work. I became particularly focused on portable shelters for protection for the homeless.

REFLECTIVE

I have experimented with reflective piping to give visibility to the garments against an urban landscape. This contrasts with the concept of invisibilty of homeless individuals in our society.

VISIBILITY

Fabrics used in the collection have are coated to be waterproof and durable to ensure garments are hard wearing and practical for life in an urban environment.

The colour palette has been inspired by the bright colours of homeless deterrents such as sloped benches contrasted against grey tones used in recyclable plastic materials
