ADAM BUICK
My work explores the human experience of landscape through a single jar form. By incorporating stone and locally dug clay into the Jars I want to create a narrative that conveys a unique sense of place. The unpredictable nature of each jar comes from the inclusions, both in off-centering the throwing and the dramatic metamorphosis during firing. This individuality and tension between materials speaks of the human condition and how the landscape shapes our perception of the world around us. More recently I have been working on clay-based works within the landscape deepening my works connection to the land. -Adam Buick
