The SMSC faculty and students aided with the new building’s design optimizes the potential for growth and innovation within the school. Burns Hargis, president of Oklahoma State University, will lead the opening ceremony. “The previous building fit the needs of a different time before the rise of technology,” President Burns Hargis said. “Matt Elliott will help our communication students reach the highest levels of success by promoting innovative learning.” The upgrade to the SMSC is projected to increase student success by 75 percent because of the new technology and creative teaching opportunities Matt Elliott provides. With new computer labs with updated software, meeting rooms with 32-inch flat screens, and modern architecture, Matt Elliott gives hope to the SMSC’s students, current and future.

Matt Elliott’s relaxation space gives students a place to rest between classes. The books were provided by faculty to spark the interest of students.

The computer lab aids student success by providing up-to-date software. The flat screens provided lessons every student could see and clear, non-distorted images for the visual communications class.

Students work on the design concepts for Matt Elliott. The SMSC students mostly thought of concepts and the architecture students designed the structure.

The innovative meeting rooms allow creative ideas to grow. Perfect for focus groups and group project meetings, the meeting rooms were designed by the strategic communication students.
