EDN Talent Grant je ustanovljen kroz saradnju Sarajevo Film Festivala i Evropske dokumentarističke mreže, u svrhu podrške talentovanim autorima dokumentarnog filma iz regije.
CICAE NAGRADA
Međunarodna konfederacija umjetničkih kina (CICAE) nagrađuje film u selekciji Takmičarskog programa igrani film. Nagrađeni film će dobiti posebnu podršku CICAE kada je u pitanju pomoć kod distribucije, prikazivanja filma i dopiranja do publike, putem mreže od 3.000 kina.
CINEUROPA NAGRADA
Nagradu dodjeljuje Cineuropa portal posvećen europskoj kinematografiji i njenim stvaraocima i to filmu koji, osim što nesporno posjeduje umjetničke kvalitete, također promovira ideje europskog dijaloga i integracije. Vrijednost nagrade iznosi 5.000 €.

The award will be given to the female director of a feature film from one of this year’s Sarajevo Film Festival programmes, as a support for her future film. Award in the amount of 30,000 €, sponsored by EURIMAGES

EDN Talent Grant has been created as co-operation between the Sarajevo Film Festival and the European Documentary Network with the purpose of supporting promising new documentary filmmakers from the region.
CICAE AWARD
The International Confederation of Art Cinemas (CICAE) awards a film from the Competition Programme - Features. The awarded film will receive CICAE support in terms of distribution, exhibition and audience outreach, through a network of 3,000 cinemas.
CINEUROPA PRIZE
The prize is awarded by the Cineuropa portal, the site dedicated to the European cinema and film professionals, and is given to a film that besides having indisputable artistic qualities also promotes the idea of European dialogue and integration. The value of this award is 5,000 €.

Počasno Srce Sarajeva Michelu Francu Honorary Heart of Sarajevo: Michel Franco Meksički režiser, scenarista i producent Michel Franco dobitnik je nagrade Počasno Srce Sarajeva 26. Sarajevo Film Festivala. Nagrada se dodjeljuje jednom od najznačajnijih nezavisnih filmskih stvaralaca, autoru upečatljivog i prepoznatljivog filmskog jezika za njegov izvanredan doprinos filmskoj umjetnosti, kao i za podršku Sarajevo Film Festivalu. Francu će se također odati priznanje retrospektivom njegovih djela u festivalskom programu Posvećeno. Tokom festivala Franco će održati Masterclass koji će festivalska publika biti u prilici pogledati online, na platformi ondemand.sff.ba The Mexican director, writer and producer Michel Franco is the recipient of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to cinematic art as well as for his support of the Sarajevo Film Festival, the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award is given to one of highest-profile independent filmmakers, author with impressive and recognizable artistic language. Franco will also be honoured with a retrospective of his works in the Festival’s Tribute to Programme. At this edition of the festival Franco will hold a Masterclass that the festival public will be able to watch online, via ondemand.sff.ba. Michel Franco rođen je u Mexico Cityju 1979. Kratke filmove počeo je snimati po završetku medijskih studija, a njegov kratki film CUANDO SEA GRANDE, snimljen za potrebe antikorupcijske kampanje, prikazivao se u 500 kinodvorana širom Meksika 2001. S filmom ENTRE DOS osvojio je Grand Prix Filmskog festivala u Huesci 2003, kao i nagradu za najbolji kratki film na Filmskom festivalu u Dresdenu. Njegov prvi dugometražni film DANIEL I ANA uvršten je u program Quinzaine des Réalisateurs Filmskog festivala u Cannesu 2009, da bi potom bio prikazan na festivalima i u kinodvoranama širom svijeta. Značajan uspjeh postigao je s filmovima na kojima je radio kao scenarist, reditelj i producent, među kojima se izdvajaju NAKON LUCIJE, proglašen najboljim filmom programa Un Certain Regard festivala u Cannesu 2012, i HRONIČNI, koji mu je tri godine kasnije u Cannesu priskrbio nagradu za najbolji scenarij. Franco je producirao film 600 MILJA reditelja Gabriela Ripsteina, koji je 2015. na Međunarodnom filmskom festivalu u Berlinu osvojio nagradu za najbolji debitantski igrani film, te film IZDALEKA reditelja Lorenza Vigasa, dobitnika Zlatnog lava na Filmskom festivalu u Veneciji 2015. Njegov posljednji film ABRILINE KĆERKE prikazan je u programu Un Certain Regard festivala u Cannesu i osvojio nagradu žirija. U sklopu vlastite kompanije Lucia Films, Michel Franco trenutno priprema nekoliko igranih i televizijskih projekata.

Michel Franco was born in Mexico City in 1979. He began making short films after completing his media studies. In 2001, his short film CUANDO SEA GRANDE, produced for an anti-corruption campaign, was screened in 50 cinemas throughout Mexico. Two years later, with ENTRE DOS, he won the Grand Prize of the Huesca Film Festival and the Best Short Film Award of the Dresden Film Festival. His debut feature, DANIEL AND ANA, was selected for the Un Certain Regard section of the Festival de Cannes and was later screened in numerous other festivals and released in cinemas around the world. He has won critical acclaim for the films he has written, directed and produced, among them AFTER LUCIA, which won the award for Best Film in Un Certain Regard in 2012, and CHRONIC, which took the Best Screenplay award at Cannes in 2015. Franco produced Gabriel Ripstein’s 600 MILES, winner of the Best First Feature award at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2015, and Lorenzo Vigas’s FROM AFAR, which took the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2015. His latest film, APRIL’S DAUGHTER, was selected for Un Certain Regard in 2017, where it won the Jury Prize. Through his company Lucia Films, Franco is currently developing several feature-length films and television projects.

Nagrada se dodjeljuje za izuzetan doprinos filmskoj umjetnosti. Tokom festivala Mikkelsen će održati Masterclass koji će festivalska publika biti u prilici pogledati online, na platformi ondemand.sff.ba Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is the recipient of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival. The Award is given for outstanding contribution to the art of film. At this edition of the festival Mikkelsen will hold a Masterclass that the festival public will be able to watch online, via ondemand.sff.ba. Mads Mikkelsen je rođen 1965. godine u Danskoj, gdje je stekao obrazovanje u Školi dramskog teatra u Aarhusu. Glumac porijeklom iz Kopenhagena je svoju profesionalnu karijeru započeo kao gimnastičar i plesač, postojano radeći na pozorišnim, televizijskim i filmskim projektima da bi konačno postao najveća muška zvijezda u Danskoj i Skandinaviji. Mikkelsenov filmski debi je bila glavna uloga u uspješnoj internacionalnoj krimi drami "Diler" iz 1996. godine, prvom dijelu trilogije koju je režirao Nicolas Winding Refn. Istu ulogu opakog dilera i narkomana je reprizirao u željno iščekivanom nastavku "Krv na mojim rukama: Diler 2”. Za ovu ulogu je primio nagradu Robert za najboljeg glumca od Danske filmske akademije i nagradu Bodil za najboljeg glumca od Danskog udruženja filmskih kritičara. 2006. godine Mikkelsen je odigrao ulogu glavnog negativca pod imenom Le Chiffre u filmu o Jamesu Bondu "Casino Royale". Film je dobio pozitivne kritike i ostvario globalnu zaradu preko 594 miliona dolara, čime je preuzeo titulu James Bond filma sa najvećom zaradom. Iste godine Mikkelsen je odigrao glavnu ulogu u za Oscara nominovanom filmu "Poslije vjenčanja" u režiji dobitnice Oskara za režiju Susanne Bier. 2009. godine je ponovo udružio snage s danskim rediteljem Nicolasom Windingom Refnom u filmu "Uspon Valhalle". Premijera filma je održana na 66. Međunarodnom filmskom festivalu u Veneciji. 2010. godine je nastupio kao Draco u fantastičnoj 3D avanturi "Sudar titana". Film je režirao Louis Leterrier, dok je za distribuciju bio zadužen Warner Brothers. 2011. Mikkelsen je odigrao ulogu Rocheforta u 3D adaptaciji "Tri mušketara" u režiji Paula W.S. Andersona. U filmu "Kraljevska afera" Mikkelsen je igrao ulogu Johanna Friedricha Struenseea, njemačkog ljekara koji je stekao povjerenje duševno oboljelog Kralja Christiana VII, da bi zatim imao ljubavnu aferu sa njegovom suprugom, Kraljicom Caroline Mathilde. Ovaj historijski film koji je napisao i režirao Nikolaj Arcel je premijerno prikazan u takmičarskom programu 62. Međunarodnog filmskog festivala u Berlinu 2012. i na Međunarodnom filmskom festivalu u Torontu 2012. godine. Na Filmskom festivalu u Cannesu 2012. Mads Mikkelsen je primio nagradu za najboljeg glumca za ulogu u filmu "Lov" Thomasa Vinterberga. U njemu, Mikkelsen igra odgajatelja u vrtiću u malom danskom selu, kojeg pogrešno optuže za zlostavljanje djece. Nakon premijere u Cannesu film je iste godine prikazan na Filmskom festivalu u Tellurideu i Međunarodnom filmskom festivalu u Torontu, a od proljeća 2013. distribuira ga kompanija Magnolia Pictures. Mikkelsen je nastupio i u filmu "Neizbježna smrt Charlieja Countrymana" u ulozi Nigela, nasilnog kriminalnog bossa. U režiji Fredrika Bonda, film je premijerno prikazan u januaru 2013. na Sundance Film Festivalu, a prikazan je i u sklopu takmičarskog programa na 63. Međunarodnom filmskom festivalu u Berlinu u februaru 2013. godine. Mads Mikkelsen je posebno poznat po ulozi u seriji "Hannibal" (2013-2015) koju je za NBC kreirao Bryan Fuller. U seriji Mikkelsen igra uspješnog psihologa i sociopatskog serijskog ubicu dr. Hannibala Lectera, zasnovanog na liku iz romana Thomasa Harrisa. Mikkelsen je za svoj rad dobio posebno priznanje kada je imenovan za člana prestižnog žirija na Filmskom festivalu u Cannesu 2016. godine. Iste godine se pojavljuje i u "Rogue One: Priča iz Ratova zvijezda" i u Marvelovom filmu "Dr. Strange". 2017. je snimio triler pod nazivom "Arktik", u kojem igra glavnu ulogu. Film je premijerno prikazan na Filmskom festivalu u Cannesu u maju 2018. Mikkelsen je igrao vodeću ulogu u adaptaciji stripa "Polar" u režiji Jonasa Åkerlunda, objavljenoj na Netflixu 2019. godine. Mads Mikkelsen se pojavljuje u glavnoj ulozi u filmu “Još jedna runda” Thomasa Vinterberga, koji se našao u ovogodišnjoj selekciji Filmskog festivala u Cannesu. Premijera američkog naučnofantastičnog filma "Haos hoda" sa Mikkelsenom u jednoj od glavnih uloga se očekuje 2021. godine.
Mads Mikkelsen was born in 1965 in Denmark, where he got his education at Aarhus Theatre Drama School. The Copenhagen-born actor began his professional career as a gymnast and dancer, and has worked steadily in theatre, television and film to become the top male star in Denmark and Scandinavia. Mikkelsen made his film debut in 1996, with a lead performance in director Nicolas Winding Refn’s international crime drama success “Pusher”, part one of a trilogy. He reprised his role as a low-life pusher/junkie in the much-anticipated sequel, “With Blood On My Hands: Pusher 2”. This performance garnered him a “Best Actor” Robert statue from the Film Academy of Denmark and a “Best Actor” Bodil Award from Denmark’s National Association of Film Critics. In 2006, Mikkelsen starred as the villain, Le Chiffre, in the 2006 James Bond film, “Casino Royale”. The film was received positively by critics and earned over $594 million worldwide, claiming the title of the highest-grossing James Bond film. Also that year, Mikkelsen played the lead role in the Academy Award-nominated film “After the Wedding”, directed by Academy Award-winning director Susanne Bier. In 2009, he reunited with Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn for “Valhalla Rising”. The film premiered at the 66th Venice International Film Festival. In 2010, he starred as Draco in the 3D fantasy adventure film, “Clash of the Titans”. The film was directed by Louis Leterrier and distributed by Warner Brothers. In 2011, Mikkelsen starred as Rochefort in the 3D adaptation of “The Three Musketeers”, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. Mikkelsen also starred in the Academy Awardnominated film, “A Royal Affair”, in the role of Johann Friedrich Struensee, the German physician who became a confidant to the mentally ill King Christian VII and had an affair with his wife, Queen Caroline Mathilde. The historical film, written and directed by Nikolaj Arcel, premiered in competition at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival in February 2012 and at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. At the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, Mads Mikkelsen received the Best Actor Award for his role in “The Hunt” by Thomas Vinterberg. Mikkelsen plays a kindergarten teacher in a small Danish village that is falsely accused of child abuse. Following a premiere at Cannes, the film screened at the 2012 Telluride Film Festival, the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, and was released by Magnolia Pictures in Spring 2013. Mikkelsen also co-starred in “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman” in the role of Nigel, a violent crime boss. Directed by Fredrik Bond, the film premiered in January 2013 at Sundance Film Festival and was screened in competition at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival in February 2013. Mads Mikkelsen is especially known from series “Hannibal” (2013-2015), that was developed by Bryan Fuller for NBC. In the series Mikkelsen play the accomplished psychologist and sociopathic serial killer, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who is based on the character from Thomas Harris’ classic novels. Mikkelsen’s work was especially acknowledged when he was pointed out as member of the prestigious Jury at the Cannes Film Festival 2016. In 2016 he starred in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and in the Marvel film “Dr. Strange”. In 2017 he shot the thriller “Arctic” where he plays the lead role. The film premiered at Cannes Film Festival in May 2018. Mikkelsen starred in the graphic novel adaptation “Polar”, directed by Jonas Åkerlund, that was released in 2019 by Netflix. Recently Mads Mikkelsen starred in “Another Round” by Thomas Vinterberg, which is among this year’s Cannes Film Festival selection. The American science fiction film “Chaos Walking” with Mikkelsen in one of the leading roles is set to premiere in 2021.

He approaches a local gun vendor, who is also a close friend of his father, who promises he will give Veysi a Mauser as a gift if he proves he is a good hunter. Happy with the promise, Veysi goes after the wolf that attacked his herd, and he eventually manages to kill its cub and a shewolf. He returns to the village proud of his success, but on the way back, he comes across his father’s funeral when he passes the village cemetery. Afterwards, he finds himself in a fight with his brother about their inheritance. The wolf who lost his mate and pup also becomes involves in this war as a third party.

With a few weeks left before the championship match, Seymour's psychological and emotional state deteriorates under escalating abuse and pressure to succeed by any means. News of his grandfather's death is the straw that breaks the camel’s back, and Seymour runs away. Anticipating an international scandal, his father Khanlar turns to the National Security Department for help in finding his son. In the meantime, Seymour arrives on an island of Kür Dili that his grandfather had once told him about. On the island, inhabited mostly by feral horses and cows, he encounters its only human resident – an old man. Every occurrence, every word, every gesture is taken as evidence. Xhafer’s uneasiness grows every day. His German wife Nora is tired of him playing the race card all the time. Do his colleagues simply dislike him? Or is there more to their hostility? Is this all in his mind or is it the actual reality? The letter is a torturous confession from one of their former classmates, in which she reveals the brutal abuse she endured as a child and during high school.

Povorke ponosa danas su nezaobilazan događaj u svim evropskim glavnim gradovima iako su pripadnici LGBTQI+ zajednica u mnogim od njih daleko od toga da se u potpunosti izbore za svoja prava. U Bosni i Hercegovini, kompleksnoj zemlji koja i dalje traži inkluzivan pristup pripadnicima te zajednice, a istovremeno se nosi s ratnim traumama, Povorka ponosa bila je preloman događaj u smislu javne percepcije LGBTQI+ osoba i njihovog prava na vidljivost. Autorica filma Danijela Štajnfeld snagu crpi iz empatije jer je i sama, kao mlada glumica u Srbiji, bila žrtva seksualnog nasilja. Nakon što je izgubila mogućnost da sigurno priča o napadu koji je doživjela, skupila je hrabrost da kroz proces susreta i intervjua svoju priču podijeli s drugima koji su prošli kroz slična iskustva. HOLD ME RIGHT is a documentary that explores the aftermath of sexual assault through intimate first-hand testimonies that unveil the culture of sexual violence as it affects both survivors and perpetrators alike. The film interweaves individual portraits and verité sequences that take us into the arc of a survivor's journey, interrogating what it means to heal. Filmmaker Danijela Stajnfeld finds

Asia Dér and Sári Haragonics follow the two women through their lengthy and ultimately successful adoption process to bring home their young daughter of Roma origin. But tensions begin to rise between the two as Virág thrives in her role as a mother and Nóra struggles to find her place within the family. As the rising tides of hate and homophobia in Hungary begin to overflow into their family, their lives hit a boiling point and they must face the difficult decision of whether to leave their country behind.

For two decades, the Enache family – nine children and their parents – lived in a shack in the wilderness of the Bucharest Delta: an abandoned water reservoir, one of the biggest urban natural reservations in the world, containing lakes and hundreds of species of animals and rare plants. When the authorities decide to reclaim this rare urban ecosystem, the Enaches are evicted and told to resettle in the city – a reality they know nothing about. Kids who used to spend their days in nature have to learn about city life, go to school instead of swimming in the lake, and swap their fishing rods for mobile phones. Their identity has been questioned and transformed, along with their sense of freedom and family ties. Radu Ciorniciuc’s heartbreaking debut is a thoughtful study of gentrification, seen through the eyes of a family trying to adapt to the new life they never asked for.

An apartment, acting as both prison and mirror for a person, becomes the subject of an ongoing moving still life. A permanently rotating camera gives the viewer a 360-degree view of an apartment and observes the relationships that are a part of modern families in a conservative society. TWIST is a film about people who live together for years in a lie, hiding their sexual orientation, and how this lie destroys everything in a single instant.

Emi observes her sister and quietly tries to make sense of how Vesna is coping, while words remain unsaid. At the beach, Emi buries her sister in the sand for fun, like in the old days. But this time it only evokes sadness as Emi realizes that she has lost her mum’s earring. On the way back, Vesna stops at a friend's party. Watching from the car, waiting, Emi realises that to protect her sister and herself, she will have to find her way back home on her own.

As part of an unusual farewell ritual, two siblings end up at a Chinese restaurant. Both feel guilty after the recent death of their mother and find it difficult to broach the subject. At another table, a father improves his daughter's homework, at the next a date goes wrong, and somewhere in between, the server's collar bursts. Though the tables are close together, the siblings hardly notice the little dramas taking place.

A group of psychiatric patients find themselves stranded in a small town that is mostly inhabited by old people. One of the patients, who bears a remarkable resemblance to the local mayor, manages to escape and introduces himself as an actual mayor at the grand opening of an amusement park, which is meant to be the project of the century, intended to attract tourists and liven up the small town of Bigrenica.

Tinejdžer Goran završi u katoličkom internatu nakon što njegova majka ode raditi na kruzeru. Goran je tu silom prilika i odbija se moliti. U početku to previše ne smeta ni njegovim vršnjacima ni odgajateljima u domu, međutim, kako vrijeme odmiče, oni pokušavaju od njega da naprave vjernika na šta on ne pristaje. Suprostavlja im se pasivnim otporom, koliko god okolina vrši pritisak toliko svjedočimo koliko je jaka njegova volja da ne posustane, te se između njega i okoline stvara permanentna napetost koja na kraju rezultira čak i nasiljem. Goran, a teenager, ends up in a Catholic boarding school because his mother has gone to work on a cruise ship. He has been forced to go to the school and refuses to pray. At first, this does not bother his peers or teachers too much, but as time goes by, despite his opposition, they start putting him under increased pressure to embrace religion. Goran resists passively, but, as the pressure grows, his determination becomes increasingly apparent and the tension between him and the others grows, before it finally erupts in violence.

For the guests, among whom we find a politician, a young countess, a Russian general and his wife, time passes at the manor with rich meals, society games and by engaging in a long discussion of death and the Antichrist, progress and morality. The hours pass, the discussion becomes more heated, the topics become more and more serious, and differences in culture and viewpoint grow increasingly apparent. Whether for good reason or not, the guests end up exacerbating each other’s anxieties to the point that their conversation becomes sorely strained. Finally, falling into the snare of their own discourse and believing that history never repeats itself, none of them is able to realise the extent of the event in which they have unwittingly come to be trapped.

Linking both stories – the secret and the public, the personal and collective – brings to light an unknown hero thirty years after the fall of communism.

Scrap collector Ilja uses his garage as a workshop; Roman breeds quail in his; Pavel carves figures of saints. Two soldiers on manoeuvres nearby use theirs to store equipment. The garage belonging to a rock band serves as a rehearsal room whereas, in a decades-long effort, Viktor has extended his by adding four underground levels. Each of these spaces provides an insight into the longings, anxieties and passions of their owners. Together, they form a microcosm that reveals a hidden part of society in which there is also room for humour.

SLOBODA KRETANJA podsjetnik je na maratonsku trku na Olimpijskim igrama u Rimu 1960. u kojoj je, iako je trčao bosonog, pobijedio Etiopljanin Abebe Bikila. Bikila je bio prvi Afrikanac u historiji koji je osvojio zlatnu medalju, te je postao sportska legenda i simbol oslobođenja afričkog kontinenta od kolonijalne vlasti. Umjetnici Nina Fischer i Maroan el-Sani smještaju taj događaj u drugačiji kontekst, u okruženje kontroverzne rimske racionalističke arhitekture, kako bi definisali novu rasu izbjeglica i migranata koji se bore za “slobodu kretanja”. FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT evokes the marathon of the Rome Olympic Games of 1960, in which Ethiopian Abebe Bikila won Africa’s first gold medal, running barefoot and becoming a sporting legend and symbol of an Africa freeing itself from colonialism in the process. Artists Nina Fischer and Maroan el-Sani re-contextualise this event amid Rome’s controversial rationalist architecture to define a new race involving refugees and immigrants staking a claim to "freedom of movement."

Suočavanje s prošlošću Dealing with the Past Suočavanje s prošlošću – da li je moguće u strašnim vremenima naći dobre ljude? / Dealing with the Past – Are There Good People in Terrible Times? U ovim nesvakidašnjim okolnostima, gdje svijet koji smo poznavali neće postojati u budućnosti, traganje za istinom i utvrđivanje činjenica važniji su nego ikada prije. Anksioznosti svijeta kojeg ostavljamo iza nas provući će se i u novi poredak svijeta i ponovo dobiti na snazi. Usuđujem se reći, ako smo šta naučili proteklih mjeseci, da se naši lični životi mogu okrenuti naglavačke u jednom trenu. Program Suočavanje s prošlošću od svojih početaka ima jasan cilj: pokrenuti iskren dijalog o bliskoj prošlosti našeg regiona. To je preduslov za prevazilaženje problema proisteklih iz nedavnih ratova u bivšoj Jugoslaviji koji su bespovratno obilježila naša društva. U proteklih pet godina podijelili smo mnoge iznimno bolne, ali inspirativne priče iz svih krajeva svijeta. Životi njihovih protagonista najčešće su radikalno promijenjeni, te su našu publiku često ostavljali bez riječi, a još češće željnu više informacija. Posmatrane kroz prizmu trenutne pandemije, otkrivanje ličnih i nacionalnih trauma, kao i preispitivanje procesa pomirenja mogu se činiti manje bitnim temama, ali dugoročno posmatrane one su od ključnog značaja za uspostavu zdravih i prosperitetnih demokratskih društava. U fokusu ovogodišnjeg programa su snažni pojedinici i njihove borbe, epizode u kojima se životne okolnosti naprasno promijene, život koji je postojao do tada, nestaje bespovratno. Budući da sada, više nego ikada ranije, preispitujemo međuljudsku solidarnost, svaki film u programu postavlja isto pitanje: da li je moguće u strašnim vremenima naći dobre ljude? Osim toga, filmovi u programu su povezani i stilski, tako što su skoro svi snimljeni u crno-bijeloj tehnici. Kako tako snažne i teške priče mogu biti svedene na beskonačnost nijanse sive boje? Da li ovako vizuelno ograničenje umanjuje dirljive i teške aspekte ovih filmskih priča? Ili naprotiv, ima funkciju da dodatno naglašava aspekte priče? Ovogodišnja selekcija obuhvata mnoštvo različitih autorskih glasova, tema i estetskih pristupa. Rediteljski prvijenac hrvatske filmske autorice Dane Budisavljević DNEVNIK DIANE BUDISAVLJEVIĆ je dokumentarno-igrana priča o ženi koja je spasila živote više od 10 000 djece zatočene u nacističkim koncentracionim logorima tokom Drugog svjetskog rata. OBOJENA PTICA češkog reditelja Václava Marhoula zasnovana je na istoimenom, čuvenom romanu Jerzyja Kosińskog. Ovaj prekrasno snimljeni film opisuje Drugi svjetski rat iz perspektive jednog dječaka. Atmosferični noir film – SLUGE REŽIMA – slovačkog reditelja Ivana Ostrochovskog predstavlja epizodu iz života mladih vjerskih službenika u jednom sjemeništu, rastrzanih između katoličke crkve i vladajućeg komunističkog režima u Čehoslovačkoj osamdesetih godina prošloga vijeka. ŠTA ĆEŠ URADITI KADA SVIJET POČNE DA GORI? dokumentarni je film italijanskog reditelja Roberta Minervinija o jednoj afroameričkoj zajednici na jugu Sjedinjenih Američkih Država u ljeto 2017., kada je serija brutalnih, rasno motivisanih ubistava šokirala čitavu Ameriku. Veliko je zadovoljstvo predstaviti posljednji film kambodžanskog majstora Rithy Phana OZRAČENI. Ovaj film je o ljudima koji su usljed rata bili izloženi opasnom fizičkom i psihološkom zračenju, uprkos tome, preživjeli, a preporučujemo ga svima koji smatraju da su imuni na tu vrstu opasnosti. Našoj publici obrati će se i Rithy Pahn, koji će predstaviti svoj inspirativan rad u moderiranom razgovoru. Pored filmskog programa Suočavanja s prošlošću, putem Sajma istinitih priča predstavili smo brojne priče velikog potencijala da budu pretočene u filmove koji navode na razmišljanje, te su inspirisale brojne filmske autore. Nažalost, zbog obaveze držanja fizičke distance, sajam nećemo moći organizovati onako kako smo to činili prethodnih godina, ali ipak želimo održati ovaj važni razgovor i nastaviti da otkrivamo priče koje moraju biti ispričane. U sklopu ovogodišnjeg Sajma istinitih priča predstavit ćemo inspirativne razgovore sa bosanskohercegovačkim umjetnicima i autorima koji su se u svome radu bavili kulturom sjećanja.
Sluge režima / Servants In these unprecedented times, when it seems that the world we used to know will not exist in the future, truth-seeking and fact-checking are more important than ever. But the anxieties of the world we have left behind will trickle into the new order and be triggered again. If we have learnt anything over the past months, I daresay it is that our personal lives can be turned upside-down in a matter of moments. The Dealing with the Past programme has had a clear mission since its start: to conduct honest dialogue about our region’s recent past as a prerequisite to resolving the problems that stem from the Yugoslav Wars, which still strain our societies. Over the last five years, we have shared many gut-wrenching but inspiring stories from around the world. The lives of the protagonists of these stories have been radically altered, while our audiences have at times been rendered speechless or, perhaps more often, hungry for more information. Viewed through the lens of the current pandemic, these topics – the uncovering of personal and national traumas and the examination of reconciliation processes – might seem of secondary importance but in the long run they are essential for healthy and prosperous democratic societies. This year’s programme centres on powerful individuals and their struggles, and on episodes in their lives that abruptly and drastically change their living conditions. As we are now questioning human solidarity more than ever, each film poses the same question: Are there good people in terrible times? Moreover, the selection is stylistically unified in that all films are shot in black and white. How can such compelling and troublesome stories be reduced to shades of grey? Does an austere visual aesthetic undermine the difficult and dreadful side of a story? Perhaps it can highlight such aspects all the more? The line-up features a polyphony of authorial voices, of the subjects they explore, and of aesthetic approaches. Croatian filmmaker Dana Budisavljević makes her directorial debut with THE DIARY OF DIANA B., a docu-fiction work about a woman who saved the lives of more than 10,000 children who had been sent to Nazi concentration camps during World War II. THE PAINTED BIRD by Václav Marhoul of the Czech Republic is an adaptation of Jerzy Kosiński’s novel of the same name. Magnificently shot, the film describes World War II from the perspective of a young boy. An atmospheric film noir by Slovakia’s Ivan Ostrochovský, SERVANTS gives us a glimpse into the lives of young seminarians who are torn between the Catholic Church and the ruling Communist Party in 1980s Czechoslovakia. WHAT YOU GONNA DO WHEN THE WORLD’S ON FIRE? is a documentary by Italian director Roberto Minervini about a community of African Americans in the American South during the summer of 2017, when a string of brutal, racially motivated killings sent shockwaves throughout the United States. To our great pleasure, Dealing with the Past presents IRRADIATED, the most recent film by Cambodian master Rithy Panh, who will also conduct a career master class. The film focusses on people who have survived physical and psychological irradiation as a result of war – and is recommended to those who believe they are immune to it. Alongside the film programme of Dealing with the Past, the True Stories Market has allowed us to present many stories that have great potential to be realised as thought-provoking films. and that have served as inspiration to many filmmakers. Current social-distancing regulations unfortunately interrupt our ability to conduct the market as we have in the past; nevertheless, we wish to continue this important conversation and keep working to expose stories that urgently need to be told. This year’s True Stories Market programme features inspiring talks by Bosnian and Herzegovinian artists and authors who have been exploring the culture of memory in their work.

Dan ljudskih prava Human Rights Day Programme Ambasada Kraljevine Nizozemske u Bosni i Hercegovini i Sarajevo Film Festival, uz njegovo 26. izdanje, ulaze u drugu godinu saradnje na programu posvećenom ljudskim pravima. Iako je pandemija COVID-19 ove godine drastično uticala na naše živote, to ne znači da su ljudska prava prestala biti ugrožena ili da možemo odustati od našeg cilja da osiguramo njihovo veće poštivanje. Pandemija COVID-19 ozbiljno je zaprijetila zdravlju, pa čak i samoj egzistenciji filmske industrije, utičući na filmske festivale, filmsku produkciju, pripremna putovanja i brojne druge aspekte proizvodnje i distribucije filma. Sada je – više nego ikada – značajno da u našem radu budemo inovativni, izdržljivi i prilagodljivi. Raduje me što su naši partneri na zadatku unapređenja stanja ljudskih prava postigli upravo to, kao i da ćemo ponovo biti u prilici pogledati film posvećen ljudskim pravima i održati panel-diskusiju s mladim aktivistkinjama i aktivistima. Više nego bilo kada ranije naši životi se odvijaju u internetskom prostoru – od rada i sastanaka, do školovanja djece, proslava rođendana i godišnjica. Zbog toga, mladi ljudi i naša djeca na Internetu provode i više vremena nego prije. Iako virtuelni svijet otvara bezbroj mogućnosti i omogućava neograničen pristup znanju i informacijama, on ima i svoju mračnu stranu. On može biti mjesto gdje su najmlađi korisnici izloženi brojnim opasnostima, negativnim uticajima i izrazito lošim ljudima. Moramo biti svjesni ogromne odgovornosti koju imamo u zaštiti sigurnosti naše omladine i djece i sprečavanju zlonamjernih ljudi u pronalasku puta do njih. U saradnji s uglednim nizozemskim festivalom posvećenom ljudskim pravima Movies That Matter, na Dan ljudskih prava 2020. bavit ćemo se pitanjem sigurnosti djece i mladih u online prostoru. Zbog prethodno navedenih razloga, ovogodišnji festivalski program posvećen ljudskim pravima, u saradnji s ekspertima iz relevantnih oblasti života i institucija, bavit će se temom internetske sigurnosti, s ciljem da ona bude pokrenuta i u Bosni i Hercegovini i da se preduzmu koraci koji će virtuelni svijet učiniti sigurnijim za najmlađe. Moja zemlja je uložila mnogo i još uvijek ulaže dosta toga u postizanje tog cilja. Siguran sam da će, zahvaljujući našim zajedničkim naporima, nizozemska ekspertiza i iskustva biti iskorišteni da Internet učine sigurnijim i za mlade iz Bosne i Hercegovine. Želim vam da organizujete izvrstan SFF, kao i dobro zdravlje i sigurno surfanje.
With the 2020 edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the festival enter the second year of our partnership in the Human Rights programme. Although COVID-19 has drastically impacted all of our lives this year, this does not mean that human rights violations have disappeared, nor that our commitment to improve human rights conditions can or may be halted. I am grateful to the organisers of the Sarajevo Film Festival for their determination and courage, to present this year’s edition in a time of crisis, uncertainty and all kinds of limitations. The COVID pandemic has created a very serious threat to the health and existence of the film industry, impacting festivals, film productions, research trips and many other aspects of the creation and distribution of films. Showing innovation, resilience and adaptability in our work is now more important than ever. I am very happy to see that our human rights partner has done exactly that, and that we will have the opportunity to watch a film about human rights and have a panel discussion with young activists. More than ever before, our lives take place online – from our work and meetings, to our children’s schooling, to celebrations of birthdays and anniversaries. Part of this means that our youth and children spend even more time online. The online world, while it provides endless possibilities and access to knowledge and information, also has a dark side. It can be a place where the youngest of users can be exposed to many dangers, bad influences and very bad people. We must be aware that we carry a huge responsibility to protect them and to prevent those with evil intentions from finding a way to reach our youth and our children. In cooperation with the prominent Dutch human rights film festival Movies That Matter, on Human Rights Day 2020 we will deal with the subject of Internet safety for youth and children. For the reasons noted above, this year’s human rights programme will focus on this theme, involving experts from relevant fields and institutions and with the aim to raise this topic in Bosnia and Herzegovina and to make steps towards improving the protection of the youngest while they explore the online world. My country has invested a lot in this issue, and continues to do so, and I am certain that through this joint effort, Dutch expertise and experience will be shared and used to make the Internet a safer place for Bosnian youngsters. Ibrahim Sultani ima dvadeset dvije godine, na završnoj je godini studija arhitekture i iz hobija na novčanicama slika portrete omiljenih libanskih muzičara, filmskih, medijskih, sportskih i modnih zvijezda, i mnogih drugih. U trenutku kada se zemlja suočava s ekonomskom krizom, Sultani se nada da će njegovi portreti domaćoj valuti bar metaforički vratiti dio nekadašnje vrijednosti. Ibrahim Sultani is a 22-year-old architecture major who has a hobby of painting portraits on banknotes. On them, he portrays Lebanese icons from the fields of music, cinema, sports, media, fashion and many more. Due to the current economic crisis in the country, Sultani hopes his work will give the currency back some of its lost value, at least metaphorically.

NOVA APLIKACIJA RAIFFEISEN MOBILNO BANKARSTVO OLAKŠAVA POSLOVANJE S BANKOM Danas sve više klijenata želi da obavi svoje transakcije brzo i sigurno, bez dolaska u poslovnicu banke. U nastojanju da poboljša korisničko iskustvo, Banka je razvila novu aplikaciju Raiffeisen Mobilno Bankarstvo (RMB) koja štedi vrijeme i novac, ali donosi i druge pogodnosti koje klijentima olakšavaju svakodnevno obavljanje finansijskih transakcija. U Zemaljskom muzeju Bosne i Hercegovine u Sarajevu u kolovozu prošle godine održan je drugi Schweppes Story Hall of Fame. Raskošnim crvenim tepihom prošetale su najveće zvijezde regije, a njih 11 ponijelo je kući Storyjeve nagrade. Ususret ovogodišnjem Sarajevo Film Festivalu prisjećamo se najljepših trenutaka Glavni grad BiH već je godinama u kolovozu u znaku Sarajevo Film Festivala – filmskog glamura i crvenog tepiha kojim kroče mnogobrojne domaće i regionalne zvijezde, a od posljednje dvije godine Sarajevo je domaćin i veličanstvenog događanja časopisa Story na kojem se dodjeljuju prestižne nagrade Story Hall of Fame najboljim ostvarenjima na bosanskohercegovačkoj javnoj sceni. Tako je prošle godine u Zemaljskom muzeju Bosne i Hercegovine u Sarajevu održan drugi Schweppes Story Hall of Fame čiji je crveni tepih dao naslutiti da će ovaj svečani party s uručenjem prestižnih nagrada biti jedan od glamuroznijih događaja godine, a ujedno i savršena uvertira u kolovoz, filmski festivalski mjesec glavnoga grada BiH. Krema bosanske estrade, ali i regionalne, celebrityji iz svijeta filma, prošetali su u najboljim izdanjima te se dobro zabavili uz zanimljive DJ performanse i nastup Aida trio benda, koji su uslijedili nakon proglašenja pobjednika u 11 kategorija. Svečani program vodio je poznati bosanski glumac Mario Drmać, koji je najboljima u

njihovu području djelovanja uručio nagrade. Prva na redu bila je Dalida Karić-Hadžiahmetović koja je pobijedila u kategoriji Najboljeg dizajnera. U kategoriji Najboljeg TV lica najbolja je bila Lana Stanišić, a u kategoriji Najboljeg redatelja Aida Begić. Najboljim glumcem proglašen je Krešimir Mikić, a njegova glumačka kolegica Gordana Boban slavila je u ženskoj kategoriji iste nagrade. Najboljim sportašem proglašen je Amel Tuka. Prestižnu nagradu u kategoriji Najbolji bend osvojio je Zoster, a pobjedu u kategoriji Najboljeg pjevača odnio je Božo Vrećo. Božina kolegica Hanka Paldum slavila je u kategoriji Najbolje pjevačice. Nagradu za životno djelo osvojila je Jasna Diklić, koja je dobila i najveće ovacije, a u novoj kategoriji #samechances nagradu je preuzela Amra Silajdžić Džeko. Nakon svečane dodjele nagrada, koje su itekako razveselile dobitnike, razrezana je slavljenička torta i uslijedio je odličan party, kakav zna prirediti samo časopis Story u kombinaciji sa Sarajevom.

Talents Sarajevo osmišljen je kao mjesto upoznavanja, razmjene iskustava i edukacije mladih talenata iz jugoistočne Europe za vrijeme SFF-a. TARA THALLER, glumica, Hrvatska Gledatelji su je prvi puta mogli vidjeti u ulozi zagonetne djevojke u nastavku filma “Ljubav ili smrt”. Tada je imala samo 15 godina. Zapaženije uloge ostvarila je u dramskoj seriji “Pogrešan čovjek” te u HBO-ovoj seriji “Uspjeh” redatelja Danisa Tanovića. Vrlo je talentirana za pjevanje, a trenutačno studira glumu u Sarajevu. Viewers could noticed her for the first time in the role of a mysterious girl in the sequel of the film “Love or Death”. She was only 15 then. She had more notable roles in the drama series “The Wrong Man” and in HBO’s series “Success” directed by Danis Tanović. She is very talented in singing, and is currently studying acting in Sarajevo.

Originally from BiH, Haris was born in 1994 in Great Britain, where he still lives today. Known for roles in the films Our Communist Life (2020), Pink Umbrella (2015) and the mini-series This Is England ’90 (2015).

SARA LUNA ZORIĆ, glumica, BiH Sa 17 godina glumila je filmu „Take Me Somewhere Nice“, gdje je po prvi je puta morala sjesti na upravljač automobila, iako nije imala vozačku dozvolu. Za ulogu u tom filmu dobila je brojne pohvale, baš kao i za ulogu Alme u kratkom filmu „Yulia & Juliet“, koju je dobila na castingu preko Facebooka. At the age of 17, she starred in the film “Take Me Somewhere Nice”, where she had to get behind the wheel of a car for the first time, even though she did not have a driver’s license. She received numerous praises for her role in that film, as well as for the role of Alma in the short film “Yulia & Juliet”, which she received at a casting via Facebook.

The 29-year-old Croatian actor was born in Pula and studied at the ASU in Sarajevo. In 2017, he starred in the film “Exorcist” by Dalibor Matanić, and Croatian series “On the Border”.
Najpoznatiji je po ulogama u filmu „Vrba“ iz 2019. te u filmu „Njezino ime je Petrunya“, koji je bio u konkurenciji za Zlatnog medvjeda na 69. MIA SKRBINAC, glumica, Slovenija Kao članica slovenskog dramskog ansambla odigrala je nekoliko ključnih predstava, među kojima i Sašu u „Ivanovu“, Helenu i „iliadi“, a trenutačno je zaposlena u Gradskom kazalištu Ljubljana. Glumila je i u filmu talijanskoslovensko-švicarske produkcije „Zatvorene oči“, a široj javnosti najpoznatija je po ulogama u serijama Ena žlahtna štorija (Jedna plemenita priča) i Ekipa Bled. As a member of the Slovenian drama ensemble, she played several key plays, including Saša in “Ivanovo”, Helen and “Iliad”, and is currently employed at the City Theater of Ljubljana. NEZAOBILAZNA IZLOŽBA
u srcu Sarajeva Story paviljon na Festivalskom trgu u Sarajevu prošle godine bio je nezaobilazna destinacija. Naime, ondje je u sklopu 25. Sarajevo Film Festivala otvorena izložba Talents Sarajevo u sklopu koje su izložene fotografije najboljih glumačkih talenata od 2007. Storyjev party privukao je pozornost glumačke i redateljske kreme popularnog festivala, a u ugodnom društvu uživale su Daria Lorenci Flatz, Jelena Veljača, Judita Franković Brdar, Lana Barić, Ivana Roščić, Tara Thaller, Goran Bogdan, Marko Braić, Leyla Hajrović i brojni drugi. Uz izložbu fotografija dosadašnjih talenata, među kojima su Ana Vilenica, Katarina Strahinić, Jelena Jovanova Perić, Stjepan Perić i mnogi drugi, predstavljen je i novi broj Storyja, čije je izdanje već 17 godina prisutno na tržištu Bosne i Hercegovine. Talents Sarajevo tjedni je program radionica i seminara na kojem mladi glumci, redatelji, producenti iz regije od iskusnijih kolega uče o razvijanju timskog rada, financiranju, produkciji i distribuciji filmskih projekata. Program je pokrenut 2007. u suradnji s Berlinale Talentsom, a mogu se prijaviti redatelji, glumci, scenaristi i producenti. Tijekom SFF-a mladi glumci iskusili su i profesionalni photo session s jednim od najboljih fotografa časopisa Story Draženom Kokorićem i Robertom Gašpertom. Te portrete ste upravo otkrili na prethodnim stranicama ovogodišnjeg Journal Storyja.
The Story Pavilion on Festival Square in Sarajevo was an unavoidable destination last year. The Talents Sarajevo exhibition was opened as part of SFF where best acting talents photos from 2007 were exhibited.

Talents Sarajevo is a weekly program of workshops and seminars where young actors, directors, producers from the region learn from more experienced colleagues about developing teamwork, financing, production and distribution of film projects. The program was launched in 2007 in collaboration with Berlinale Talents, where directors, actors, screenwriters and producers can apply.Story’s opening party attracted the attention of the directors and actors of this popular festival - Daria Lorenci Flatz, Jelena Veljača, Judita Franković Brdar, Lana Barić, Ivana Roščić, Tara Thaller, Goran Bogdan, Marko Braić, Leyla Hajrović and many others who enjoyed this opening. Along with the exhibition of photographs of previous talents, including Ana Vilenica, Katarina Strahinić, Jelena Jovanova Perić, Stjepan Perić and many others, a new issue of Story was presented, which weekly edition has been present on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 17 years. During the SFF, the young actors also experienced a professional photo session with one of the best photographers of Story magazine Dražen Kokorić and Robert Gašpert.
