Film om m o?em o prom ijenit i svijet Elma Tataragi? selektorica programa "U fokusu" Pr ogr am " U f ok u su " ?in e f ilm ovi izvan k on k u r en cije, ali su u f ok u su i k r it ici i pu blici. Kak av je ovogodi?n ji pr ogr am ? Program "U fokusu" prate?a je selekcija Takmi?arskog programa i ima za cilj da svake godine predstavi najzna?ajnije i najuspje?nije regionalne filmove u posljednjih 12 mjeseci. Proteklih 6 mjeseci bili su izuzetno izazovni za svjetsku kinematografiju i nakon berlinskog filmskog festivala gotovo da nije bilo premijere niti jednog regionalnog filma. Upravo zbog toga, odlu?ili smo da obogatimo selekciju i omogu?imo ?to ve?em broju reditelja i producenata da prika?u svoje filmove na Sarajevo Film Festivalu. Na?a odluka je va?na za podr?ku autorima, regionalnim kinematogafijama u datim okolnostima te na ovaj na?in ?elimo podr?ati filmove koji su tek po?eli svoje festivalske ?ivote. Shodno tome, ove godine donosimo rekordnih 10 naslova u ovoj selekciji. Kao i obi?no program je mje?avina filmova ve? etabliranih autora ali i prostor za promociju debitanata kojih ove godine imamo tri. Godin am a st e selek t or ica ovog pr ogr am a. Regionalna kinematografija se drasti?no promijenila u posljednjih 20 godina. Filmovi su sve vi?e raznovrsni u tematskom, stilskom i estetskom smislu. Tako?er je u posljednih desetak godina do?lo do stasanja jo? jedne nove mlade generacije koja je sigurno unijela da?ak svje?ine. Sada ponovo mo?emo govoriti o regionalnim autorima koji pripadaju mladoj, srednjoj i zrelijoj dobi. To je zna?ajno za
kontinuitet, ali i zbog toga ?to svaka generacija druga?ije komunicira sa publikom. A nama kao festivalu to je itekako va?no. Program "U fokusu" ponovo ?e publici predstaviti svu pluralnost i raznovrsnost regionalne kinematografije sa filmovima koji su izvrsni, uzbudljivi i potpuno razli?iti u svakom pogledu. Osim ?t o st e selek t or ica, n agr a?ivan a st e scen ar ist ica, pr o?le godin e sm o gledali dva Va?a f ilm a: " Bog post oji i im e joj Pet r u n ija" (U f ok u su ) i " ?avovi" (pr ik azan u Open Air pr ogr am u ). Proces pravljenja film traje jako dugo tako da je velika privilegija predstaviti gotov film publici. Ta privilegija je jo? ve?a kada to radite na svom vlastitom terenu. Izuzetno sam ponosna na ljude sa kojima radim filmove i drago mi je dijeliti ih sa publikom. U f ilm ovim a se bavit e ?en am a koje im aju jak k ar ak t er ,koje su u por n e, bor e se za sebe i n jim a va?n u st var . Kak ve Vas t em e zan im aju u f ilm ovim a ? posjedu je li f ilm sn agu koju ?est o n e vidim o, n a koju zabor avim o? Ja istinski vjerujem da je film jedan od najljep?ih na?ina pri?anja pri?a i sna?an kanal za komunikaciju. Filmom zaista mo?emo promijeniti ne?iji stav, dakle mo?emo promijeniti svijet. Ja nemam neke teme koje me zanimaju, to se jednostavno mijenja kao ?to se dru?tvo mijenja oko nas. Ali znam da sam dosta insiprisana stvarno??u sa kojom sam okru?ena. " In Focus" is the supporting selection of the Competition programme and aims to present the most important and most successful regional films made over the last 12 months. The last six months were exceptionally challenging for world cinematography, with hardly any premieres of regional films after the Berlin Film Festival. For this very reason we decided to expand the selection and allow as many authors and producers as possible to show their films at the Sarajevo Film Festival. Our decision means support to authors, regional cinematographies under the circumstances, and this is our way of supporting films that are just embarking on their festival journey. So, we have a record ten titles in this year ?s selection. As usual, the programme is a mix of films by established authors and space for promotion of debuts, of which we have three this year. Wh at is t h e t r en d in cin em at ogr aph y? Regional cinematography has changed dramatically in the last 20 years. Films are becoming increasingly diverse in terms of themes, styles and aesthetics. Also, the last ten or so years have seen the maturation of another young generation that definitely brought a breath of fresh air with it. Now we can again talk about young, middle-aged and
mature regional authors. This matters because of continuity but also because every generation has a different way of communicating with the audience. Which is certainly important for us as a festival. The "In Focus" programme will again show the audience all of the plurality and diversity of regional cinematography, with films that are excellent, exciting and completely different in every respect. The process of making a film takes a very long time, so it?s a big privilege to present the finished film to the audience. That privilege is even greater when you do it on the home terrain. I am extremely proud of the people I make films with and I love to share them with the audience. I don?t have topics of particular interest, they change as the society around us changes. But I do know that I receive a lot of inspiration from the reality that surrounds me. Naji??ekivanija regionalna TV ost varenja u program u "Pret prem ijere serije" Svaku od serija odlikuje zanimljiva pri?a, sjajna gluma?ka postavka i visok produkcijski nivo. U sklopu ovogodi?njeg programa "Pretpremijere serije" publici su predstavljene tri serije koje ?e se na?i na programima regionalnih TV ku?a, tek u sezoni jesen/zima. Publika Sarajevo Film Festivala ima priliku ekskluzivno pogledati prve dvije epizode (prvih sezona) serija: "Kosti", "Mama i tata se igraju rata" i "Mo?vara". Program "Pretpremijere serije" isklju?ivo je posve?en regionalnim dramskim serijama. Profilisanje je rezultat rasta i razvoja ovog festivalskog programa kroz izrazito uspje?nu

Sarajevo Film Festivala, nastavlja se suradnja Sarajevo Film Festivala s Doha Film Institutom. Ova saradnja traje ve? osam godina, u vidu dvosmjernog partnerstva. Doha Film Institut (DFI) je nezavisna i neprofitna kulturna institucija osnovana 2010. Institut poma?e razvoju lokalne filmske zajednice unapre?enjem stru?nog znanja, njegovanjem ljubavi prema filmu i doprinosom razvoju samoodr?ivih kreativnih industrija u Kataru. Doha Film Institute at the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival By showing a selection of films from Arab world as part of programme of 26th Sarajevo Film Festival, the cooperation between Sarajevo Film Festival and Doha Film Institute continues. This lasting two-way partnership started eight years ago. Doha Film Institute (DFI) is an independent, not-for-profit cultural organisation established in 2010. It organically supports the growth of the local film community by enhancing industry knowledge, cultivating film appreciation and contributing to the development of sustainable creative industries in Qatar. DFI?s platforms include funding and production of local, regional and international films, educational programmes, film screenings, Ajyal Film Festival and Qumra - an initiative that seeks to provide mentorship, nurturing, and hands-on development for filmmakers from Qatar and around the world. Three grant recipients and past Qumra projects to benefit from additional guidance and support from the Festival?s CineLink Industry Days programme: "Nezouh" by Soudade Kadaan, "The Pearl" by Noor Al-Nasr and "The Maiden's Pond" by Bassem Breche. With culture, community, education and entertainment at its foundation, DFI serves as an all-encompassing film hub in Doha, as well as a resource for the region and the rest of the world. Sarajevo Film Festival na najljep?i mogu?i na?in promovi?e Bosnu i Hercegovinu u cijelom svijetu Sedin Kahriman, v.d. generalnog direktora BH Telecoma Kada je po?ela Va?a sar adn ja sa Sar ajevo Film Fest ivalom ? Saradnja BH Telecoma i Sarajevo Film Festivala je po?ela u toku agresije na Bosnu i Hercegovinu, u opkoljenom gradu, izlo?enom stalnom granatiranju, ta?nije od samih po?etaka Festivala, od 25. oktobra 1995. godine. BH Telecom je tada bio me?u prvim partnerima Festivala i saradnja je trajala nekoliko godina. Sretan sam i izuzetno zadovoljan ?to je BH Telecom pro?le godine obnovio saradnju sa Sarajevo Film Festivalom kao najve?im regionalnim doga?ajem, sa Festivalom koji je uvr?ten na listu evropskih i svjetskih festivala, a kojem je u nekim prvim koracima BH Telecom bio jaka podr?ka. Potpuno sam siguran da SFF na najljep?i mogu?i na?in promovi?e Bosnu i Hercegovinu u cijelom svijetu. Na?a saradnja ne odnosi se samo na dane Festivala, na? fokus i prioritet su gledaoci i korisnici na?ih usluga, tako da vjerujemo da ?e na?a saradnja kroz projekte koje pripremamo uticati da poslovni odnosi budu na jo? ve?em i profesionalnijem nivou. Sarajevo Film festival je najzna?ajniji filmski festival u regiji koji je zauzeo zna?ajno mjesto na evropskoj i svjetskoj sceni filma i koji svake godine okuplja najistaknutije filmske radnike iz cijelog svijeta. Svakako je nama, kao dru?tveno odgovornoj kompaniji, zna?ajno da budemo dio jedne ovako uspje?ne pri?e. Na?u saradnju ne gledamo samo kroz generalno partnerstvo ve? i kroz potencijal i poslovne odluke BH Telecoma na izgradnji najve?e doma?e platforme za produkciju audio-vizuelnih sadr?aja za koju smo imali objavljen javni poziv na koji je prijavljeno 50 projekata. Zavr?en je trenutno prvi krug ?itanja i o?ekujemo u narednih 15 dana preliminarne rezultate. Ono sto je va?no pomenuti, poziv ?e biti otvoren kontinuirano, za sve nove ideje na?ih filmskih stvaraoca. Ukoliko epidemiolo?ki uslovi to dozvole, o?ekujemo vrlo brzo i po?etak snimanja odabranih serija u produkciji i uz finansiranje i podr?ku BH Telecoma. Svjedoci sm o velik ih svjet sk ih pr om jen a. U kojoj m jer i se t o odr azilo n a Va?e poslovan je? Globalna pandemija izazvana korona virusom je zna?ajno uticala na poslovanje BH Telecoma, posebno u mjesecima kada je progla?eno stanje prirodne nesre?e i kada smo imali odre?ena ograni?ena kretanja na?ih korisnika. Najve?i izazov je bio za?tititi zdravlje i ?ivote radnika i osigurati kontinuitet servisa i usluga koje pru?amo. Mo?emo re?i da pandemija jo? uvijek direktno uti?e obzirom na situaciju sa turisti?kom sezonom i ?injenicu da, na?alost, ove godine i nemamo turisti?ke sezone. Glavno smanjenje prihoda se ogleda u prepaid i roaming saobra?aju te u domenu veleprodajnih usluga. S druge strane, kao pozitivno mogu ista?i ?injenicu da smo kroz sve ono ?to smo, kao dru?tveno odgovorna kompanija, u tim te?kim trenucima ponudili na?im korisnicima nekako postali agilniji u smislu iznala?enja adekvatnih rje?enja kako bi svim na?im korisnicima ?ivot u?inili jednostavnijim za vrijeme svih izazova koje je ova globalna po?ast donijela.
Tako?er, to vrijeme smo proveli u aktivnom radu na izgradnji budu?ih platformi kao ?to su start up platforma BH Tech Lab, platforma za sadr?aje BH Content Lab, izgradnji partnerskog eko sistema za zajedni?ki nastup na tr?i?tu ICT usluga i rje?enja, na pripremi aktivnosti za pu?tanje dva tv kanala u produkciji BH Telecoma i svakako smo nastavili aktivno raditi na fintech platformi koja je ve? uspostavljena, mislim na OPA platformu koja u ovim izazovnim trenucima korisnicima donosi niz benefita te olak?ava pla?anja i transakcije. S obzirom, kako bih za sebe rekao, da sam veliki filmofil, ljubitelj igranih filmova i igranih serija, obavezno ?u izdvojiti takmi?arski dio programa SFF-a. U dijelu Avant Premiere Series su po dvije epizode serija koje, ?ini mi se, obe?avaju mnogo. S obzirom kako je ove godine situacija takva da su nam domovi kino sale, svaku no? pregledam po najmanje jedan film. Koji su t o f ilm ovi 26. Sar ajevo Film Fest ivala koje bist e Vi li?n o pr epor u ?ili n a?oj pu blici? Nisam jo? pregledao sve filmove, ali svakako bih prvo preporu?io film Pjera ?alice ?Koncentri?i se, baba? iz Open Air-a, koji je odli?an. Filmska ekipa odradila je perfektan posao. Film ?Otac?, u re?iji Srdana Golubovi?a, je jako emotivan film, dr?i pa?nju tokom cijele radnje, ali i poslije. ?ovjek se pomalo zamisli svaki put kada se prisjetim scena iz filma. To je film o kojem se dugo razmi?lja nakon gledanja.

The cooperation between BH Telecom and Sarajevo Film Festival began during the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the besieged city, exposed to daily shelling, from the very beginning of the Festival on 25 October 1995. BH Telecom was at the time one of the first partners of the Festival, and the cooperation lasted several years. I am pleased that last year BH Telecom renewed the cooperation with Sarajevo Film Festival as the largest regional event, enlisted among the European and world festivals, to which BH Telecom provided strong support in its initial stages. I am absolutely certain that SFF globally promotes Bosnia and Herzegovina in the most wonderful way. Our cooperation does not refer only to the days of the Festival. Our focus and priority are the viewers and users of our services, and we believe that our cooperation, in projects that are underway, raises our business relations to a higher and more professional level. Sarajevo Film Festival is the most important film festival in the region, with an important place in the European and global film scene. We do not view our cooperation only through general partnership, but also through potential and business decisions of BH
Telecom in the development of the largest domestic platform for the production of audio-visual content, for which we announced a public call and received applications for 50 projects. The first cycle has been completed, and in the next 15 days we expect preliminary results. It is important to note that the call will be open continuously for all new ideas of our film authors. If the epidemiological situation permits, we expect to start filming selected TV shows produced, financed and supported by BH Telecom. We ar e w it n essin g gr eat ch an ges. The global coronavirus pandemic has significantly affected operations of BH Telecom, particularly in the months when natural disaster was declared and when we had limited movement of our users. The largest challenge was to protect the health and lives of our employees and provide continuity of the services we provide. We can say that the pandemic still affects us directly because of the situations with the tourist season and the fact that, unfortunately, this year there is no tourist season. Most of the reduced profit is in prepaid and roaming traffic, and in wholesale services. On the other hand, a positive aspect I can point out is that all that we, as a socially responsible company, offered in those difficult moments to our users made us more agile in finding adequate solutions to make lives of our users simpler during all the challenges brough by this global pandemic. Also, we spent that time in active work to build future platforms, such as the start-up platform BH Tech Lab, BH Content Lab platform, partner eco system for joint presence on the market for ICT services and solutions, to prepare activities to launch two TV channels produced by BH Telecom, and of course we continued to work actively on the fintech platform, which has already been established. It is the OPA platform providing many benefits to our users and facilitating payments and transactions in these challenging times. Since I am a great fan of films, I love feature films and series, I will point out the SFF competition programme. The Avant Premiere Series includes two episodes of each series and they seem very promising. Because of this situation, our homes have become cinemas, so I watch at least one film every evening. I still have not seen all the films, but I would certainly first recommend ?Focus, Grandma?by Pjera ?alica from Open Air, which is excellent. The film crew did a perfect job. The film ?Father ?by Srdan Golubovi?, is a very emotional film, it holds attention during the entire story, and even afterwards. I become contemplative every time I remember the scenes from the film. It is a film you think about a lot after watching it.
Rad na film u je proces u?enja / Working on film is a learning process Masterclass sa redateljem Michelom Francom / Masterclass with director Michelo Franco Moderator tre?eg Masterclassa John Hopewell razgovarao je sa meksi?kim redateljem, scenaristom i producentom Michelom Francom ?ije filmove gledamo u ovogodi?njem programu ?Posve?eno?. Zanimljivo je da je Franco, iz ?ije radionice do sada nije iza?la komedija, bio uvjeren da ?e njegov prvi film biti komedija. Poku?avaju?i zatvoriti financijsku konstrukciju takvog filma brzo je shvatio da to ne?e biti lako i preorijentirao se na manje vedre i mnogo realnije teme. Tako?er se prihvatio i poslova u produkciji jer nije ?elio izgubiti punu kontrolu nad pravljenjem filma. Preferira hronolo?ki snimati film i nije mu te?ko ponoviti scenu ili vi?e njih dok ne dobije ono ?to je zamislio. Teme za film bira tako ?to ga ne?to zaintrigira i pri tome je va?no da se radi o stvarima o kojima nedovoljno zna. Tada rad na filmu postaje i proces u?enja ? iako priznaje da se desi da
na kraju filma zna manje o temi nego na po?etku. Rado je govorio o suradnji sa Timom Rothom za kojeg ka?e da je vrhunski profesionalac koji je ?etiri mjeseca radio kao njegovatelj da bi se ?to bolje pripremio za ulogu u filmu ?Hroni?no?. Interesantno je i da se Roth, odu?evljen filmom ?Nakon Lucije?, sam preporu?io za ovu suradnju. Na pitanje ?ta bi preporu?io mladim redateljima koji tek ulaze u svijet filma rekao je da samo uzmu kameru i po?nu praviti kratke filmove. Uz to bi trebalo da ?itaju ?to vi?e, ali ne kompliciranu literaturu o teoriji filma nego intervjue i knjige koje su napisali filmski autori. Preporu?uje im da se ?to manje dr?e kli?ea, da budu kreativni i tra?e nove pravce. O Sarajevo Film Festivalu, na kojem je ve? pet puta bio, ima najljep?e rije?i i javno je poslao veliko hvala na tome ?to se uporno bori za film.
The moderator of the third Masterclass, John Hopewell, spoke with Mexican director, screenwriter and producer Michel Franco whose films we watch in this year's Tribute to program. It is interesting that Franco, from whose workshop no comedy has come out so far, was convinced that his first film would be a comedy. Trying to close the financial construction of such a film, he quickly realized that it would not be easy and reoriented himself to less cheerful and much more realistic topics. He also took over jobs in production because he didn?t want to lose full control over making the film. He prefers to shoot the film chronologically and does not mind repeating one scene or more of them until he gets what he imagined. He chooses topics that intrigue him for the film and it is important that these are things he does not know enough about. Then working on the film becomes a learning process - although he admits that sometimes at the end of the film
he knows less about the topic than at the beginning. He was happy to talk about working with Tim Roth describing him as a top professional who worked as a caregiver for four months to get better prepared for the role in the film Chronical. It is also interesting that Roth, enthusiastic after seeing the film After Lucia, recommended himself for this collaboration. When asked what he would recommend to young directors who are just entering the world of film, he said that they should just take a camera and start making short films. In addition, they should read as much as possible - not complicated literature on film theory but interviews and books written by film authors. He recommends that they stick to clichĂŠs as little as possible, be creative and look for new directions.
