Is Cloud BI The Most Sought After Technology Today?
Is Cloud BI The Most Sought After Technology Today? Its Cloud everywhere and its BI everywhere!!! Both these stalwarts have earmarked their own places with full pomp and are the most prominent technologies in their respective arenas. Imagine an amalgamation of these two taking place. It feels like magic and here comes the terminology Cloud BI which is a wondrous technology rising up and creating waves in the IT industry. Cloud BI carves ahead a success road way for the best possible combination of business processes and technologies encompassing the salient features of Cloud computing and Business Intelligence. BI has been time and again, being used for getting an in-depth know how of the valuable information prevailing in the organization. Now, these organizations are shifting focus onto Cloud BI since Cloud BI applications host themselves on a virtual network and are meant to provide real time data such as analytical reports, dashboards etc. The preparedness, lightweighted agility and user responsiveness of the Cloud is attracting BI to blend with it.
How is Cloud BI deployed?
Public Cloud: In this type of Cloud, the application and storage resources are arranged by the service provider for the public through Internet and could be there for free.
Private Cloud: A highly secure model, in which there is a typical technique of cloud computing available only to a selected set of particular clients.
Hybrid Cloud: An integration of Public Cloud as well as Private Cloud Services based on requirements. Since it is hybrid, the solution providers serving this type of arrangement could be single or multiple.
Community Cloud: To enhance cost effectiveness, certain organizations go in for joint purchase and share their individual security and infrastructures needs through a Community Cloud. This brings in a common set of objectives amongst the selected group.
Areas of Concern for Cloud BI Since this concept is a new one and a bit complicated one, there are certain dark areas, which, when encountered, could cause a bit of tension and whose solutions have to be thought of well in advance. There are situations when the data set gets larger by the day. In such a scenario, transferring or moving them would be quite costly and lead to a rise in the Total cost of ownership. Because it is a novel technology, adequate resources and services are not yet available in bounty. It is difficult for this technology to securely preserve data on a particular physical environment. Hence, there are user inhibitions to put their private data on the cloud. Nevertheless, come what may, end users are readily going in for Cloud BI and are getting a positive and happy response. Adhering to our objective to attain Center of Excellence, we look forward to increasing our spread in the Cloud BI arena, along with other BI areas that we @ SPEC INDIA serve, like Pentaho BI, Jaspersoft BI and BI techniques like Self Service BI, Power BI and much more.
