Greetings Sorors,

On behalf of the members of the Significant South Atlantic Region, Cluster V I I , it is our pleasure to welcome you to the Cluster V I I Joint Founders? Day Celebration, Our L egacy & Promise to Excellence. Each year, we pause to pay homage to our founders for their vision in establishing and incorporating our beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, I ncorporated as a perpetual entity.

Because our founders believed that African American college women represented ?the highest, more education, more enlightenment, and more of almost everything that the great mass of African Americans never had", Ethel Hedgemon and her fellow classmates worked to honor what she called ?an everlasting debt to raise Negroes up and to make them better.?

For 114 years, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, I ncorporated, has fulfilled that obligation by becoming an indomitable force for good in our communities, state, nation, and the world. We firmly believe our sisterhood will continue to proudly serve and carry the torch that ensures our phenomenal trademark and legacy of historic accomplishments, will lead the way in achieving excellence with purpose and permanence.

Again, welcome and thank you for the individual, collective, and countless hours of exemplifying excellence of sustainable service to mankind with one purpose and one way.

Serving in Excellence,

Soror Jamesetta L ovett, Chairman Cluster V I I Joint Founders?Day

Soror Angela Brown, Co-Chairman Cluster V I I Joint Founders?Day

Soror I ndia Mack, Co-Chairman Cluster V I I Joint Founders?Day 4

Charletta W ilson Jacks Biography Soror Charletta Wilson Jacks: Strategist. Executive City L eader. Expert Community Development Consultant.

Soror Charletta Wilson Jacks served as the Deputy Director of Government Affairs for the 60th Mayor of Atlanta-Keisha L ance Bottoms from 2018 to 2022. I n this capacity, she collaborated with stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the mayor?s legislative priority agenda with the City Council and other city stakeholders. As a result of her strategic collaboration, Soror Jacks was instrumental in the unanimous adoption of the yearly municipal budget, averaging over 650 million during the administration of Mayor Keisha L ance Bottoms. With her extensive community development background, Soror Jacks continues to provide leadership and strategic planning on transformative community and economic development policy initiatives.

Soror Jacks? commitment to the City of Atlanta was recognized in grand style on February 1, 2022. T he Atlanta City Council held a ?Proclamation Ceremony? for Soror Charletta recognizing her 21 years of outstanding service to the citizens of Atlanta. T he City of Atlanta and the Fulton County Commission declared February 1, 2022, as ?Charletta Wilson Jacks Day? in the City of Atlanta and the entire Fulton County, Georgia. Prior to the appointment by Mayor Bottoms, Soror Jacks served as Director of the Office of Planning and Director of the Office of Zoning and Development. She was tapped to spearhead a new customer focused initiative due to the tremendous increase in development activity in the city and her extensive knowledge and over 30 years of experience in planning/ community development and construction/ project management.
