Phillippi Estate Park and Friends of Sarasota County Parks

About the farmhouse In 1916, Edson Keith bought a 60-acre plot of land along Phillippi Creek which is now known as Phillippi Estate Park. The Keith farmhouse was the first building erected on the estate and is one of the few existing wood-frame structures from the early 1900s in Sarasota County. The farmhouse is currently under renovation to become an interpretive center, open free to the public, featuring artifacts and memorabilia of life in the early days of Sarasota. The building remains a vivid reminder of Sarasota’s origins and the people who built the community. For more information about the renovation, call 941-861-5000 or visit scgov.net (keywords Keith Farmhouse). To make a donation, contact the Friends of Sarasota County Parks, Phillippi Estate chapter at 941-275-9397 or president@foscp.org.
