The focus of this article is to help you to understand what resources are available to you as a Realtor® seeking to do global business. Aside from the NAR designations such as CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist), which will no doubt connect you to other agents, there are a number of other organizations which are key to becoming involved with when working with international real estate transactions and business:

1 | The Global Business Council at the Realtor® Association of Sarasota & Manatee (RASM). Every year, the RASM Global Business Council organizes trade missions overseas, lectures, events and networking opportunities for GBC members. GBC membership at RASM is a mere $25 a year, which is truly a bargain thanks to our RASM GBC sponsors. 2 | AREAA (The Asian Real Estate Association of America). AREAA membership is currently $99 a year. The closest chapter to us is the Tampa Bay Chapter. 3 | NAHREP (National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals). NAHREP membership is $49 a year for local and $199 for national membership. We are in the process of establishing a NAHREP Sarasota Chapter to help connect our Latino agents and Sarasota/Manatee Hispanic community. 4 | FIABCI (International Real Estate Federation). FIABCI membership is $595 a year. This year, FIABCI is offering a promotional rate of $399 for annual membership to NAR CIPS designees, in celebration of NAR’s partnership with FIABCI. FIABCI-USA has two councils in Florida – Miami and Orlando. Some local FIABCI members would LOVE to start up a FIABCI Sarasota Council! All of these organizations have great networking events as well as mid-year and annual conventions where you can meet and network with other agents in other states and from other countries. Since Florida is the #1 state for foreign investment, don’t you think that you might want to invest in connecting with organizations that are very connected with international real estate agents, investors and home buyers?
