ABSTRACT REALISM with Tom O’Brien All art is abstract, even hyper-realistic art. Think about it: an artist can’t put the actual subject on canvas or paper whether that be a person, landscape, still-life or even a metaphysical idea, just a concept the viewer will interpret as your perception of the subject. The artists translates the object observed or imagined into shapes, line, color, composition and values to create their art. This course stresses the process over genres so bring the medium you enjoy working with and learn while having fun. Open to all levels and media. Thursdays, 10am - 12pm February 28, March 7, 14, 21, 28 and April 4 $90 for members / $100 for not-yet-members

Think of the powerful movies, lectures or literature that have impacted you due to the careful deliberation of a great storyteller. In this class, the instructor will help students discover what stories they want to tell, why they want to tell them, and how to do so most effectively. This course is open to all skill levels, ages 15+. Student should bring a notebook, pen, and folder to each class.
