It

is a very simple product. It is designed to be inserted into a standard 500ml / 12 oz. bottle. While in the bottle carbon removes bad odors and chemical tastes and at the same time imparts natural minerals. A further component adds magnesium and alkalinity to the water.

LIST ALL IMPORTANT DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

1. As this product in ‘CLOSED STATE’ is quite small, it must appear BIG (bigger than it is) in OPEN STATE. 2. Originally the product had a 180° twist. (to make it appear larger in open state regardless of viewing angle). However, for manufacturing this is inconvenient. SO, I’ll need 2 versions. One flat. One ≦89.5° (so a little twist is OK) 3. Included as an attached file is the CAD prototype we are replacing. This will help you to understand the general idea of what we need. This version fits all the parameters size wise, but is: a. twisted at 180°. b. The holes are random sized. For ease of manufacturing we need to limit it to 3 sizes of hole. Or no holes at all, use slats, use zig-zags, whatever. c.The hinge needs to be thicker. d. the pull tab design works really well. Easy to grip.

4. That’s about it. A complete redesign and a fresh perspective would be much welcome.

1. MODEL SCALE FOR OBSERVATION 2. FINITE ELEMENT IN ENGINEERING PROCESS 3. COLORS OF TREND ANALYSIS 4. WORKING DRAWING OF PRODUCT
