NATURE PAVILLION
4
This
project was to study about contours and design a site responsive nature pavilion that preserves the site as such, yet enhancing and enabling the potential points of the site to the users. The organic form of the pavilion has derived from the contours of the site. Here a single plane is manipulated to serve various functions like, for shade, seating and as transition elements. As a whole the pavilion looks like a roll off ribbon cascading with the waterfall creating soft waves and curves as it goes down.

CAFÉ TERRARIUM

Café Terrarium, opposite to UST Global , Kazhakutom, is a tropical
style café with a regular cuisine creating an earthly habitat contrasting amidst the air conditioned office buildings and busy highways. Apart from food the café includes an open mini golf course as an entertainment feature. The café opens to a small world within, of lush green and fresh air with a built style resembling home, hence the name terrarium, a world within a world.

KATHA RESIDENCE
Katha
is a villa at kovalam, designed for an acting couple who prefers an earthly habitat to reside. Hence Katha is fabricated with vernacular materials of earthen shades. The house is split into private and public zones by a series of semiprivate decks creating a hierarchy in planning. These decks forms the core of the house taking the indoors to outdoors and extending to a central semi open courtyard. Privacy is met with closure made of bamboo poles capping the deck extensions. Air and light seeps into the house through the seamless jali works and screens. Katha indeed weaves a story through the spaces.
