This portfolio is a collection of works since the beggining of my architectural studies at the Glasgow School of Art, Mackintosh School of Architecture in Scotland. (2013 - 2020) It displays a range of skills and capabilities from digital aspects to physical modeling.
PROJECT 1 . FAREWELL ISLAND
The architectural project for my final design thesis was to bring Farewell Island to the heart of Belgian city of Antwerp and the river Scheldt. An argument was put forward that a small part of the river Scheldt could become a new public urban cemetery for the city. One of the key built proposals on the island was a crematorium.

PROJECT 2 . STARCHIVE
Starchive sits on a historic site (172 Queen’s Drive, Glasgow) that is occupied by religious buildings. There has been a crossroad between religion and science throughout time, however, both act as a bridge to the stars above. The concept of the building is to allow the visitor to engage with microcosm and macrocosm of the world.

PROJECT 3 . TO DWELL
The aim of this project was to develop a mixeduse residential scheme in a small town called Beith situated in the Garnock Valley, North Ayrshire, Scotland. It accomodates all age groups, each with different backgrounds and experiences. Such all-age-inclusive spaces encourages everyone to spend more time together as a community.

PROJECT 4 . KILN CAFE
The site just like the Barras Market (Glasgow, Scotland) that it is based in had a very rich history to do with clay pipe making. Flea market currently seems like dying art. It was easy to see that the historical site was lacking something that could easily identify it from far away and draw customers in. Thus, the design proposal provides kiln-like skylights and two chimneys one of them being a landmark.

PROJECT 5 . IBIZA ARTIST HOUSE
A floating underwater house for an artist specialising in painting. The building is floating near Torre del Pirata and the stunning islands of Es Vedra and Vedranell in Ibiza. This project was a finalist in architecture students design competition hosted by ‘Rethinking Competitions’.
Done in collaboration with my two good friends & colleagues M. Indriliunas & T. Skurdauskis.

PROJECT 6 . PLACE IN TIME
These interventions sit on volcanic basalt known as Dumbarton Rock and allow visitors to move away from their everyday routines thanks to the historical site. The German air force heavily bombed the area during World War II. The interventions, therefore, creates new spaces for the visitors to reminisce by providing direct views to the sky.

PROJECT 7 . COMIC STRIPS & ARCHITECTURE
Comic strip medium makes a major contribution as a form of architectural narrative that helps to communicate ideas to the people. It provides me with an exciting view of seeing architectural representation and allows me to explain programmatic activities occurring in my architectural projects.

PROJECT 8 . PASSIVHAUS CLASSROOM DESIGN
The classroom has been designed to meet the technical requirements linked with German Passivhaus Standard. This standard is one of the best practices in Europe in terms of insulation demands. It benefits both the user and the environment. Thus, every choice made when detailing the form and design of the classroom was influenced by this standard.

OTHER WORK 1 . PHYSICAL MODELS
Physical architectural models produced to show architectural designs and to communicate various ideas. I have used a variety of materials and scales. Experimental models were made using cardboard, timber, plastic and other materials. They act as a design tool which allows to better understand three dimensional structures & spaces.

OTHER WORK 2 . HAND DRAWINGS
In my free time I like to emerge myself in hand drawing. It is a very helpful exploration tool and one of the basic ways to improve ones creativity. When I am drawing I am constantly thinking. I put a lot of emphasis on observation and composition. This helps me to build my knowledge and improves my visual representation skills.

OTHER WORK 3 . EUROPEAN ARCHITECTURE STUDENT ASSEMBLY
In the summers I was taking part in The European Architecture Student Assembly (EASA). EASA every year allows a network of around 500 architecture students from all over the continent to participate in architectural workshops living together for over two weeks in a self sustaining, community like setting.
