ARCHITECTURE
Villa designed for a location with scenic beauty on the hills at Haridwar, Uttarakhand. River Ganges and Kosi running on either sides of the site and the picturesque view of the hills can be experienced from any point of the villa, due to its design. The natural contours of the site are utilised to its best and the environment is not disturbed, which helped to attain an efficient form and function of the villa. Hence, a triple floored structure is formed where the ground floor is cantilevered and raised to a level, to allow the waterbody retain its flow. The villa has different fucntions on all sides, each having its own beautiful view. Top 2 floors are arranged in zig-zag fashion with stone and brick effect complementing each other. Three layered Roof structure, with hierarchal pediments and wooden cornices, giving the traditional effect that the client wished for.

FREELANCE WORKS
The project tries to provide vending space for the informal actors (hawkers and vendors) who have been facing unjust due to the Charminar Pedestrianization project. Currently the vendors are occupying the space illegally (against Government’s will) by appropriating it to fit their business requirements. But, this eventually leads to the expansion of vending spaces in the precinct which will be a major threat to the characteristics of the precinct. Therefore, the idea is to design the space for vending which best suits the vendors, yet controlling any expansions.
A case of Charminar, Hyderabad
‘just’ pedestrianization
BACKGROUND
Once a small piece of stucco work on one of the four minarets fell off due to the pollution and vibrations of motorized vehicles. That’s when the idea of pedestrianization of Charminar precinct has arised. The idea was to restrict the motorised vehicles in the precinct. In this process, this area was made ‘Hawker free zone’, impacting the livelihood of these vendors. Before pedestrianization, the elements in the street like traffic, parking, etc. created perfect conditions for vending. Congestion was favourable to the vendors. Exclusion of the vendors in the design process didnot stop them from returning to their original spaces. After pedestrianization, the vending zones are along the edges of the street with less pedestrian access which made them to encroach the pedestrian space. However, the return of these vendors brought strength by enhancing the vibrancy due to the increased no. of active spaces.

Spatial Configuration:
• The pottery vendors create their own workspace based on their requirement, which leads to change in walking behaviour of the pedestrians.
• Vendors with static and semi-static units occupy the footpath and on ground vendors in-front of them below footpath.
• Hierarchy of vendors can be seen in the street:
• Vending items present on site are accessories (bangles, etc), imitation jewellery, clothing, fruits, bags, toys, arts & handicrafts, electronic goods.
INFERENCE: Vendors can turn any kind of space as their vending space by making minimum alterations, which fits their business requirements.

FLOOD RESILIENCE
Water Sensitive Urban Infrastructure
Resilience affords us the capability to anticipate risk, limit impact and bounce back rapidly in the face of all that life hands us. If a city is truly prepared to be resilient, they will be able to minimize any disruption to their everyday life when the unexpected occurs.
Thrissur, Kerala has been suffering from heavy floods every year. This project tries to create a flood resilient city by focussing on the natural setting and the settlement pattern of Thrissur city which helps in understanding the various facets of the disaster that a single flood event causes in the city and to understand how these disturbances can be neutralised and minimized.
By assessing the present water handing network of the city, identifying the gap between the current storm water handling capacity of the city and the future expected capacity, selecting sample sectors to understnd the site and situation settings, sample category recommendations have been provided.
3. Adapt to change

Working definition of resilience
Focus on the quality of lifeof people at risk and to develop oppurtunities to enhance a better outcome.
• The flooding can be minimized by taking a strategical approach towards land and water. These can be termed as Green and Blue networks, respectively. Hence, the solution can be obtained by Water Infrastructure, which deals in this categories.
It helps to design city from Macro to Micro level and vice-versa. Also helps to build adaption community.
Flood prevention by Water Sensitive Urban Design at different levels of the city(Neighbourhood, Block and Site levels) to make the city resilient.
• Flooding in Urban areas can be reduced by understanding the causes from river and land sides.
• Sewage collected will be sent to the STP and the treated water is sent to the river.

The Puzhakkal river is in the Thrissur city is in the lower course, towards the meeting point of the sea. At this Point the depth of river is between 7mt to 13mt. And both the side of the lands are either on 0 level or below sea level and majorly related to agricultural activity.

In this Zone the first layer of shrubs and small tree will be at the edge of the river and having a 10mt width of it, After that layer another layer is 20 -25 mt wide which is a grass buffer which consists of grass and forbs (such as wild-flowers).

• Buffers in urban areas are important for intercepting runoff and pollutants from developed areas. These buffers are designed to better withstand human impacts and utilize larger planting stock. The larger trees and shrubs also provide a more immediate visual impact while being more resistant to human use. Urban buffers can also function as greenways along streams and may include a recreational trail. Urban buffers and greenways can be used to teach homeowners and developers about the importance of protecting streams and water quality and still allow limited use.

CHILDREN’S MUSEUM
ARCHITECTURE; INTERIOR DESIGN; PREDCR
The designing and planning of the museum follows the concept of buildings in scale to children with elements that excite them and helps in interactive learning, radial organization of spaces with landmark at the centre, different elements of interests, as cues of way-finding and cognitive mapping, interactive spacial arrangement for informal learning.
Children’s Museums are the places that are inspiring and creative, challenging children’s minds, and expanding their views of the world we live in. If learning is viewed as a process of changes in knowledge, attitudes and values, then museum provides an ideal and proactive learning environment when children make contact with an idea, an object or an experience in a museum.
