I am Saša. I am in my last (fifth year) of studies at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. This year I am in Portugal on my academic exchange – definitely in order to the acquisition of new knowledge and international experience, none the less, to enjoy eternal summer, endless beaches surrounded by surfing sessions – as well as being in a perfect country for new inspirations, photo posts, and the city of Lisbon - artistic inspiration at every turn. At the moment I am studying Architecture as well as some other fields of study such as Product design, Design, Interior architecture and Graphic Design at the Faculdade de Arquitectura of Universidade de Lisboa. As long as I can remember, I have been in love with the design - design of places, objects, everything from architecture, interior design, furnishing, visual communication, fashion, etc. Working in the area of architecture and design has been a great passion of mine since my childhood. I love beautiful things that are aesthetically formed. Things that I create and do are given my fullest attention and are therefore made to the last detail - when they go from my hands they should be perfect - I admit, sometimes I can complicate till the impossible to achieve what I have imagined. However, I always achieve what I have proposed to do. I am in love with taking photos of a moment that takes me over. My huge passion is travelling and getting acquainted with people and new things (especially if I see some kind of beauty in them). I think I am an extremely positive person, hard working, responsible and above all - dedicated to what I do. Thank You for being a part of my story. I would be glad to be a part of yours. All the best, Saša

Dobrova is a small town and administratively a centre of a municipality with an unformed spacious identity. How to solve the problem of absence of open public places, unorganized streets and disconnection with natural rear?

winning projct

With a transformation of a main transverse street into a united move which becomes a heart of the town. It is combined of a “promenade and two squares which are connected to it. Paving with united bricks in which transverse lines from secondary material carve into. These lines hint positions of individual street atmospheres. A new planting of trees is co-creating a street move. The lines of trees are on the one hand visually connecting the centre of a town with the green rear while on the other hand diverting views to nearby hills.

Polhov Gradec, compared to Dobrova, has a hugely more expressive spacious identity, which is created by historically built place on a hill, river flow of Velika Božna and a castle. We proposed the following interventions: 1- Forming of a new “below square” on the place of the existing bus station, which represents an entering point to the town. 2- Minimal fixing of existential “upper square” existing parking place in front of multipurpose facility.

The monument represents a square surface, slightly tilted by diagonal and represents a line of balance. This balance stands for a thin layer of life, death and fragility of social balance- peace, warless time and interpersonal conflicts.

24

A monument to victims of all wars is not a one-time final act and it does not have a final shape or one author. This is an open structure which key elements are cooperation and time. Pieces which will be added by artists in the future will physically and meaningfully complement the given monument.

How to make smooth landscape architecture that preserves the green zone? With diffuse, effortless architecture which allows greenery within it.

It was to create a riverbank, which maintains the desired area. Architecture is effortless and diffuse. There are public spaces - shops, services and leisure areas - at the edge and the inner part private housing.

Factory is a space of production. Once it was production of textile nowadays production of ideas. Ideas are not limited by space, the same as dimensions of a space should not be dereminated. The idea is existing in our mind, wants to be discovered, produced free of limits, developed and in FACTORY OF IDEAS branded to be selled to target population- process DEMAND-SUPPLY.

The project concerns with the arrangement of neighborhood Pobre탑je. Within the neighborhood space form the "building islands", which consist of 7 groups of houses. An island can have exempted from 1 or 2 sets, which formed an intermediate green belt, which disrupts the synthesis masonry and to architectural islets introduce dynamism and diversity. Among the building islands there is a wide walking surface, which is defined as a pedestrian zone, but residents may exceptionally access their houses with cars. Cars are otherwise parked in covered parking spaces at the edge of the stake of the island, next to them are also covered open spaces for waste disposal. "House" as an individual living space represents the idea of "space between the walls", which opens to the north and south. House forms an open space defined by two walls and two central service core. Outside the house there happen three areas: 1) North - shady summer garden 2) South - solar - winter garden 3) Garden with flower beds and garden shed. House offers views towards the surrounding hills on the north and opens up towards the sunlight to the south. The space acts as a rounded open space, which ends in the garden - in the summer "living house" moves to the northern shady part and in winter vice versa. Open space is optional delineated by an arbitrary setting of the walls and the formation of new spaces. 39

How to preserve an authentic Lisbon apartment in an old part of a town named Graca and still give it a bit of a modern touch? Keep as much authentic elements as possible (wooden floors, ceilings, doors and windows). A hint of furniture from the 50s and 60s added with a lot of freshness in white.

Experiment: How to make a home for a family of four out of a small twobedroom apartment? Placement of high-altitude children`s rooms which share beds by altitude, meanwhile creating a room for work as well. Otherwise this ensures privacy and adequate sharing of space on minimal square meters.

Through centuries parks have always been the expression of the relationship of humanity towards nature. 21st century Park Edvard VII is an example of new social and cultural life given to the park that seeks to activate the use of the public space. Idea is to fit into the location and at the same time keep a respectful distance towards its boundaries. Tangling the view, park and building with the characteristic topography so that the design of the building follows the form of the landscape. The exsisting sport program is replaced with a new equipmnet on the right side of the park. The new proposal is an activator of the cultural and social life trying to create a program of commercial use, exhibitions, education, public events and a new meeting point for the citizens. The nature of the project serves as an attraction that invites visitors to enjoy a multisensory experience. The different elements of the park are providing comfortable spaces for walking, sitting and playing. The park is equipped with long benches to create informal places for spontaneous meetings among citizens.

Badel Block is part of the city in need of new concept that will bring its inhabitants new development possibilities and new ways of social life, and it will encompass the right balance between social, leisure, economic and development potentials. There are three conceptual elements for the Badel Block project: The fundamental element of the Badel block is “vibrant city for people of different generations and different interest groups of people. It is envisioned as a place where people of different demographics and social background live and socialize. The next conceptual element is “green city” based on sustainable development and environment friendly principles. The third conceptual element of the Badel Block is “the new industry”. We would link the new industry on the tradition of the old distillery factory. The concept of new industry would be the natural/organic juice production factory.

How to install a “silent” architecture into a natural landscape, which integrates itself into the nature and does not “scream”? How to connect given architecture and nature in order to form an attractive environment for tourists? With cube installation which leans to the existing stone wall and fills the void between an old church and its surroundings. With a corten façade these cubes only grow old together with the landscape- and always come back to life with new patina. New comfortable spaces are created with views fixed on nearby skylines and a sufficient amount of privacy.

How to create a dynamic space which offers many unpredictable and always new scenarios? With dynamic objects.

A new facility continues a line of a street between two static volumes, creating an open “crossing-roads-like space. The third dynamic volume can move on an empty space and create new atmospheres.

The group of students from Tecnico Lisboa (IST) - Mechanical Engineering did a project of developing new glasses for visually impaired people. They identify 2 market plans with the help of ACAPO: - Perception of the surroundings; - Improve reading and writing. Electronic travel aid devices already exist but they are: - very expensive; - very complex and users need to be attentive all the time - walking in the street becomes an exhausting task; - unattractive. Solution: a pair of glasses with sensors to warn about dangers above the waist on a much simpler way of the existing ones. Design follows the need and tries to create an unisex and timeless shape.

The idea of above solution is clear and immediately seen in Slovene: it challenges the young ones to speak up, give their vote figuratively and literally. In this way we can expect some changes, work, moving forward “with full speed ahead” (“GAS”). Logo presents a word play: From GLAS (meaning a VOTE or VOICE in Slovene) L changes into “a check” as a symbol for “yes” at voting and what remains is GAS. GAS obviously represents initials to words “Glasuj, aktiviraj, spremeni!” (“Vote, Activate, Change!”).

White pine, enameled aluminum, mahogany 72"w x 12.5"d x 63.5"h This shelving unit was originally designed for la Maison du Mexique, a dormitory at Cite Universitaire, Paris. There were six groups chosen to design various parts of the campus; Perriand was assigned the cafeteria, the meeting rooms, and forty students' rooms. She collaborated with Sonia Delaunay who was in charge of the coloration. The furniture was fabricated at the Ateliers Jean Prouve, the only workshop with which Perriand would work.
