OLE ADVANTAGE

The Online Learning Elementary (OLE) program is based at City Park School and offers online instruction for kindergarten to Grade 8 students in both English and French immersion. Students take all required Saskatchewan curriculum areas of study.

Our unique approach to learning is provided through both synchronous (teacher online with the students at the same time) and asynchronous (students access course content on their own at any time with the support of a teacher when necessary) delivery systems.

Students can expect to connect with their teacher(s) 'live' for a minimum of 150 minutes a day (75 minutes for kindergarten), in a combination of large group, small group, and individual online instruction between 8:55 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Teachers will be available for support during the rest of the school day. The asynchronous component of online learning offers students and families a degree of flexibility during the school day. To take online classes, students require access to a computer and the internet. Any needed software is either free of charge or will be provided. Students in kindergarten to Grade 8 use Google Classroom as their learning management system along with additional technology tools to facilitate learning.

DIVERSE COMMUNITY

Students classrooms are based on grade and each student has a homeroom teacher. The exact composition of the virtual classroom is based on enrolment and may contain multi-grade combined classrooms.
