For over 40 years, Mark’s signature style - a series of pared-down looks reflecting his love of modernist art and architecture – has put him at the forefront of global hair design, and his role as International Creative Director takes him all over the world coaching, teaching and inspiring. Mark’s yearly schedule revolves around developing the seasonal collections and leading the worldwide demand for Sassoon Hair Design and is as excited today as he was on his first day. As he puts it, “I take great pride in continuing the Sassoon legacy and now actively help mould the company and have the opportunity to create an energy and passion for hair in those around me. My goal is to give more people more creative opportunities more of the time. It has been an incredible journey so far”.
EDWARD DARLEY UK COLOUR DIRECTOR
Edward’s career began with completing the in-depth Sassoon training programme in the Leeds salon. He then developed a devoted clientele, propelling his career forward at remarkable speed, where his natural flair for teaching made him an obvious choice for the Academy in London. In 2006 he was promoted to UK Colour Director, which sees him maintaining Sassoon standards in all of the UK Salons & Academies, he regularly travels the world as a member of the International Creative Team presenting shows, seminars and workshops, as well as working closely alongside Mark Hayes, International Creative Director to develop the key trends for the Sassoon Academy and Salon collections. Edward was awarded the coveted accolade of Fellowship Hairdresser of the Year 2016. DANIELLE HARVEY ASSISTANT UK CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Danielle’s Sassoon journey began as a Covent Garden Assistant in 1988. Upon qualifying Danielle moved to the Manchester Salon, where she nurtured a loyal clientele alongside collaborating with an array of 90’s popstars and TV celebrities. In 1993 Danielle moved to the London Academy where, as a result of her dedication and commitment, she was promoted to Senior Creative Director. In March 2017, Danielle was appointed to Assistant UK Creative Director, responsible for the Creative Direction of the London Academy. Danielle is an effervescent personality who has had an outstanding effect on the character of the company over many years. The ultimate team player, Danielle is the embodiment of the energy, positivity and camaraderie required to reach the top of her profession. GARETH VANCE ASSISTANT UK CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Gareth joined Sassoon in 1994 as a Varderer. Based in Leeds, Gareth finds inspiration in all aspects of design, giving him an eye for perspective and balance; which he has utilised within his work. He has travelled all over Europe and the UK leading teams and demonstrating his professionalism through his detailed work and passion for the industry. Gareth was awarded Creative Director of the Year in 2015, then in March 2017, he was appointed Assistant UK Creative Director responsible for the Creative Direction of the UK Salons. Gareth is a highly talented, successful individual who has made significant contributions to the Sassoon brand over many years - always representing the company to the highest standards with skill, style and expertise. RICHIE RIVERA NORTH AMERICAN COLOUR DIRECTOR
Richie’s Sassoon career started at the Los Angeles Academy in 1992. Completing his apprenticeship at the Boston Salon, where he has been based as Salon Colour Director and East Coast Regional Colour Director before being appointed North American Colour Director in 2012, where he has the responsibility of educating and developing the next generation of Sassoon colourists. Over his 20 year career, Richie has gained a reputation for being a gifted educator, who captivates audiences, frequently representing Sassoon internationally, from Japan to Brazil and everywhere in between, but additionally his talent behind the chair means he still commands a fiercely loyal clientele in Boston.
