SÄTILA’S HISTORY How it all began

Sätila is an agricultural village founded in the 17th century.

The village features a handicraft and textile knowledge that extends far back in time. During the 18th and 19th centuries this knowledge evolved into a comprehensive and profitable weaving business.

SÄTILA’S HISTORY The seaway to Sätila

In 1890, the boat Isa was put into regular service on Lake Lygnern at Sätila Sand.

This meant that goods could now be transported by rail from the port city of Gothenburg to Fjärås and then by boat further on to Sätila.
