What is a Focus Group and How Can You Make Money Participating in a Market Research Study? A focus group is a familiar term for those who are involved in making money with paid surveys. It's one of those great but not very well-known opportunities to make money. It is much more enjoyable than many of similar methods of making money. There are many people who use it along side paid surveys to make a full time income. This of course wont be achieved over night, like any other profession you need to get into it and learn the ups and downs of it. That's not to say that you Can't make any amount of money with it. In fact there are many people who make money with paid surveys or a focus groups by using them as their part time job, or as a way to make money when ever they need to. But, before you get started, you need to know few details and tips to help you make as much money as possible, plus some advice for staying away from a focus group scams. So, what is a focus group and how can you make money with it? Well, as I mentioned, a focus group is much like paid surveys, with a few distinguished differences. The first difference is the way in which they are conducted. Paid surveys are usually conducted online and there is a dead line for taking the survey. As for a focus groups or market

research studies as they are referred to some times, all though there are online a focus groups, but the majority of a focus groups are conducted offline and usually in a meeting room of the researcher company's facility. It is basically a form of qualitative research in which you and a select group of people are chosen to talk about your experiences and opinion towards an idea, service, product, advertisement and concept. You may be asked to answer some question about the specific service or product and since you are in a group setting, it makes it very interactive and fun to talk about the chosen subject. member of the group can freely talk to each other and even question others for what they may or may not like about the product or service. The session can last anywhere from 20 minutes to up to 90 minuets, depending on the specific subject or the requirements of the company. Another big difference, in fact the biggest one (looking at it as a way to make money) is the pay! With paid surveys, the amount of money you can make is from $1 for taking a ten minuets survey, all the way up to $40 or more for a 30 minuets survey. But with a focus group you are paid a much higher rate, which most of the time is higher than $75 for a 40 minuets or so session. In rare cases, there are times that you can get paid up to $250 for participating in a 2 hours study. Of course there is the online and offline world difference. With paid surveys, you can simply take a survey online and you can be living anywhere. But with a focus group, since it is conducted in a real location, you have to be living around that area for it to be worthwhile. I mean, I don't think anybody would want to drive 3 hours to get to a location to make $80 or so. I know a lot of people don't mind it, specially if in a fragile financial situation, but I don't think the

majority of people would want to do that, plus some a focus groups are meant just for residents of a specific area. The other difference between paid surveys and a focus group is that all though there are countless number of paid survey scams out there, legitimate paid survey companies are much easier to find and register with. The reason for a focus group being hard to find is less advertisement, plus having a lot of already registered participant.

Tips And Tools For Making Money With Paid A a focus Groups What not to do! When joining a paid research study, although honesty is the best way to go, you should never say you have worked for a market research company in the past or you have or are working for a radio, television or advertising company, as this will decrease your chances of being eligible to participate in the study. Qualifier Questioner Just like paid surveys there will be a "qualifier questioner", which ask about your daily routine/behavior. You have to answer somehow to qualify and ultimately get paid. for example, if the study is about McDonalds hamburger, do you think if you answered the QQ by saying "i never eat at McDonald", that you would be chosen to participate in that study? I mean why would they need your opinion if you never buy their product. They want to hear from people who use the product, so they can make adjustment and perhaps improve the product/service in order to make more money.

Never Pay To Register For A A a focus Group Company Remember, never ever pay to sign up with a "paid a focus group company". If you are asked to pay any money in order to be eligible to participate, it's a scam. Research companies get paid from advertisers and manufactures to research and document public opinion about their product/service, then the research company shares a percentage of that money with its panel members. So it doesn't make sense to pay for something that your supposed to get paid for. A legitimate a focus group research company dos not charge a fee in order to register participant. Here is a list of some of the most well-known and legitimate focus group.
